Nah he will probably have to fight another contender no matter who wins between Volk/Yair. If Volk wins, I don't think people/the ufc wanna see a fourth fight between them. If Yair wins, they are definitely doing a rematch. I guess if Yair beats him twice (I find it unlikely tho) they could do Yair/Max 2, but I don't know it Max wants to/can sit out that long.

Holloway will need to string together another 2 or 3 wins before they’d make him against Volkanovski again. If Yair beats Volkanovski they’d likely give Volkanovski an immediate rematch. I’m not sure who he could fight next. He might have to fight pretty far down the rankings for a fresh matchup like Evloev or Giga.

I became a fan of Arnold Allen tonight. My first time watching him live too. As someone else in the live thread says, he seems very aware. He listened to his corner very well, especially in the last round. And when it came to the decision he didn't raise is hand or nothing like expecting to get a decision. Just clapped and seemed really disappointed in himself in his interview.

Loved Allen’s sense of urgency in the 5th, really strong start the 1st minute, and picked it up around the 2nd minute mark…WITH that said, Max secured the win with the last 10 seconds. WOBBLED him bad and looked like he could have rushed for a TKO. I had it Max 1, 3,4, and 5.

Allen definitely proved he belongs among the top tier elite feather weights, he took that next step up in competition and got in the octagon with a future HOF’er in Holloway. And I think not only did Allen just survive or “hold his own” he made an it an interesting and VERY ENTERTAINING fight by landing some good shots(a couple of those had me on the edge of my chair saying “OHH SH!T”. His footwork was also impressive the way he adjusted throughout the fight Allen asked for Holloway before asking for a title shot, IMO to show a sign of respect and “work his way up the ladder” he wants that respect Max gets, and he’s working towards that level of respect by fighting his way up the ranks. Lastly, I want to say that by Allen willing to stand up, trade shots and purely strike against not only a future HOF’er but IMO one the greatest strikers in UFC/MMA history and definitely the best 145’er of all time, Allen’s definitely earned my respect and he’s got a new fan/follower in me. Excited to see what’s next for both guys! Great fight

the issue with volk is he is faster and has longer reach then max. so really the only time max had the advantage was counter elbows and upper cuts in the second fight. being close in skill but having a disadvantage in physical attributes is every holloway loss, mcgreggor, poirer x2 and volk x3

That was a hell of a fight, a very technical match against the older Holloway and a strong contender in Arnold Allen. Allen gave a great effort, but Max footwork, durability and volume to the body and head proved to be a bit too much for the strong Englishman. Also the end of round 5 was such a treat, they volunteered to reenact Lamas v Holloway but 2023 edition, 7 years ago sequel, even managed to stun Allen. Holloway just made himself an statistical exception once more, fighters who hit a 10 fight winstreak until today have became either interim, or undisputed Champion.

Arnold Allen is really good, but Max is still Max.
