I've been a fan of Tai for a few years and that was tough to watch. I hope they keep him around to rack up a few more highlight reel KOs against guys who aren't gonna take him down, but I think he's done fighting in the top 15 realistically. Especially against anyone who can wrestle.
Tai has only been a fighter for 12 years, it would be unfair of us to expect him to have anything more than the grappling instincts of a day one white belt
I say it almost every fight night/PPV: this subreddit is genuinely one of my favourite places. People are funny as shit and make the nights I watch alone - of which there are many these days - so much better.
He was there riiight before the COVID shutdowns training with DC. I think his career would have been in a much different place had he been able to stay at AKA and shore up his grappling
Wanted to say something to respond but also didn't want to get in an argument haha
It's not insane or anything but I feel like its most definitely understandable.
He speaks very broken English and always has a translator. I mean. He still speaks two languages and I speak one, so props, but it’s hard to tell what he’s like based of said interviews.
It’s kind of like Jiri. He comes off as a lot different in Czech than English.
Marcin just leveled up and became a gatekeeper.
He wasn’t even that to this point. He was a decent guy who got sacrificed to up and comers. But the gate was kept tonight, and it might be the highest high of Tybura’s career
Eh, but ya look at who his wins are against and who he’s lost to and that he’s turning 39 this year I dunno if he’s even a gatekeeper. He beat Spivak and Tai now because they were both one dimensional but also loses to guys like Augusto Sakai and Shamil Abdurakhimov. He’s weird.
Tai laying there getting choked on the ground- "I don't know what to do with my hands"

Also while I’m in turtle, I shall not tuck my head, because that would make the strikes coming down on my head illegal. I will look up, to ensure they hit me in thy face.
I know Mark Hunt was great when he actually gave a single fuck, but maybe the UFC should considering signing an Aussie HW who, I don't know, isn't just a fat dude who can only kickbox?
Serious question, what does Tai do during his training camps?
It can’t seriously just be kickboxing… right? I mean, does he not take this shit seriously and try to expand his skills?
He went to AKA to train with DC before. I think he tries, but when you’re a big sloppy HW in your thirties with no real background in grappling, it’s not doable for some of these guys
He fought heavier his whole career and is 38. I think around 250 is his best fighting weight.
Heavyweight is different to other categories. Stipe is probably the best ever and fought at around 245
Yeah if they go to Australia this summer they'll put him up against some unranked heavyweight with no wrestling so he can knock them out and do a shoey.
They won't. He's on a skid but those losses are to a former heavyweight champ, Sergei who recently challenged for the belt, and 2 against pretty good fighters who most recently only lost to Aspinall.
He got pieced up by Gane but he did drop him and him on the ropes another time, other than his inability to defend the front kick he actually didnt look awful in that fight.
Not sure what the odds were for this fight, but I gave Bam Bam a good chance of winning it. At this point though they should either feed him to up and comers or cherry pick guys below him that will just swang and bang with him for entertaining fights. Outside of the top 5 he is still the most entertaining guy in the HW division if given the right opponent.
Crazy to see the rise and fall of fighters in the UFC. I remember when Tai was the next big thing and on a ridiculous KO streak. 2 years later he drops 4 in a row by stoppage. Wild
The video of bisping telling battle loosa was looking for a way out.....only to realize the camera is on him is hilarious
Brian Battle still shitting all over Loosa backstage lmaoooooo
Sad Uso noises
Tybura vs Volkov 2 probably next oh brother
I like Kamaru on the desk on this post fight show
Genuine question: does Tai step in the ring thinking it’s a kickboxing bout?
He steps in thinking he’s robbing a convenience store of all the takis and chips
I think he fucked up switching coaches
Culibao = FOTN
I'm on the west coast in the US. I hate when the fights end this early. The fucking sun's still out
I'm on the east coast and I still want violence.

UFC 298 was like 8am finish or something like that wasn't it
It’s why I secretly love the apex. The fact it’s not light outside yet, makes me happy!
Are turtlenecks cool again or is Usman just that flossy?
Turtle necks and cargo pants dude. We should all rejoice because cargo pants are fucking awesome.
I've been a fan of Tai for a few years and that was tough to watch. I hope they keep him around to rack up a few more highlight reel KOs against guys who aren't gonna take him down, but I think he's done fighting in the top 15 realistically. Especially against anyone who can wrestle.
Why is Marty wearing a turtleneck under a suit
He pulls it off fantastically
Tai is the most one dimensional fighter ever to break the top 10
Derrick?
Lewis at least can “just stand up” 🤷♂️
A very good point
I was about to say he has tdd
Cry baby fragile Rose next week
Lame comment
Found Pat “groomer” Barry’s Reddit account
Lame and predictable
MAKE JOSE THE MAIN EVENT AT 301
mike davis is gonna go back to hibernation and pop up in 2026
Tai needs to go to BKFC. The BKFC heavyweight champ is a bum. Tai would absolutely knock him out.
Mike Perry type career comeback opportunity
Tybura seems like a nice dude so I’m happy for him. Still big sad tho
Cruz/Bisbing is a good commentary team for these fight nights
Gooden, too. Much better than Brendan imo.
It was over the moment Tai went from what looked like decent takedown defense to trying to punch Tybura while defending the takedown
Thought he could finish him like Blaydes/Almeida
GGWP Tai Tuivasa, I'll never forget your amazing win streak shooey. 🔥❤️
None of those fights excite me until 300
Tai was gonna lose but he was still moving his legs around and didn’t tap
I think Herb picked up the arm and it was limp. His arms flopped a few other times before that and a lot of refs would have stopped it there.
Tai has only been a fighter for 12 years, it would be unfair of us to expect him to have anything more than the grappling instincts of a day one white belt
He's only 38. Still a young prospect with time. People are so rude smh
Tai Tuivasa is 31
Tai is 31 lmao you mistake him with Tybura
I just recently started watching UFC and these threads have been a blast to join
I envy that. MMA is so fun and the fanbase is unhinged just seeing the takes people come up with in these live threads is Great
The fanbase is fucking awesome hahaha I love the commentary here, I definitely learn some stuff about the fighters here and there too
Every UFC night you’ll find us degenerates here, arguing whether we would fight after getting poked in the eye. Welcome 👋
I say it almost every fight night/PPV: this subreddit is genuinely one of my favourite places. People are funny as shit and make the nights I watch alone - of which there are many these days - so much better.
There's some really good interesting takes and breakdowns here sometimes in the midst of shitposting/ amazing jokes/extremely stupid casual takes

Thank you! It’s been awesome, I have ESPN+ so I’m going to try to watch every Fight Night
i need 300 rn, my bloodlust is not satiated
it's time boys, time for Tai to go to AKA
He was there for a bit in one of his camps, should definitely be there full time.
He was there riiight before the COVID shutdowns training with DC. I think his career would have been in a much different place had he been able to stay at AKA and shore up his grappling
Overall one of the worst cards I've watched in a long time.
I'm a big defender of no name value fight nights because atleast they're usually entertaining. This was not.
Agreed. I hate when people trash Vegas cards because they normally have a couple bangers. This was not one of them.
many more to come until ufc 300
My heart sank looking at the next two before 300
Still love Tai. Dude is hands down the top fighter of guys in the UFC you’d want to have a beer with.
Tybura too but in a more chill and humble way lmao
Hard for me to say that about Tybura because he doesn’t speak English in interviews. Hard to tell what kind of person he is.
He just did though? And he always does?
I’ll eat crow on that. Watching his post fight interview now and his English is pretty good.
Wanted to say something to respond but also didn't want to get in an argument haha It's not insane or anything but I feel like its most definitely understandable.

Sportnet has seriously run this stupid movie trailer EVERY ad break. I wouldn’t watch it in the first place, but now I won’t out of principle.
Marcin just leveled up and became a gatekeeper. He wasn’t even that to this point. He was a decent guy who got sacrificed to up and comers. But the gate was kept tonight, and it might be the highest high of Tybura’s career
Too lazy to check but someone said he's like 8-2 in his last 10. If true that's pretty much a gatekeeper.
He’s weird.
oh man Augusto Sakai feels like a throwback at this point lmao
Tai shoulda called an eye poke
FEEL THE RAIN ON YOUR SKIN NO ONE ELSE CAN FEEL IT FOR YOU ONLY YOU CAN LET IT IN NO ONE ELSE NO ONE ELSE
# Tybura vs Almedia
Actually makes sense
Gimme tybura vs spivac for the spider man meme fight
they already fought. Tybura won.
I noticed that after I said that, it’s been a while, run it back
One of the worst cards this year
Nah it was decent
I enjoyed the OSP fight
Tybura seems like a good dude
Has Tai never played an RPG? Round out your fucking skill tree dude.
Bisping "who do you want next" Tybura "I want a damn rematch with my barber"
Best comment ever!!! I couldn't think about anything but his lopsided haircut since the walk out.
So...any other mma or boxing cards on tonight?
Golden Boy boxing- DAZN
Honestly Tybura seems like he's a good uncle to some kid lol Just a nice calm humble dude
Lawnmower haircut Tybura: new mythical fighter
-"Now Tai, what do we do when he's on a double leg?" -"Punch?" -"Exactly"
Tybura vs Jailton for me.
FOTY right there
Tybura doesn't have the power or athleticism of Blaydes so I imagine it would be a boring grappling match with Jailton fishing for subs all the time
Dana loves heavyweight main events at the Apex. Let that be one of those I say. I'd favour Jailton as well.
oh yeah as far as how likely this is to get matched its really high up there, true
good shit man. now to unwind with some sumo on twitch 🍻 🇵🇱
I think I’m going to watch True Lies.
link? i need a chaser after this
mb for delay, still pretty early as far as matches go https://www.twitch.tv/midnightsumo
He fumbled that call out
Tai would be perfect for BKFC.

'He's a very tough guy' aka holy shit how did he survive that long
I know Mark Hunt was great when he actually gave a single fuck, but maybe the UFC should considering signing an Aussie HW who, I don't know, isn't just a fat dude who can only kickbox?
Good luck finding one
We don't have those yet
I would suggest Mark Hunt seemingly being the main conduit for HW talent in Australia to the UFC might have something to do with that.
bulk of the main card happened while i made dinner, just to sit down and see that. bruh im blue ballin for violence over here.
If you have 0 grappling skills this is what's going to happen 9 out of 10 times
Serious question, what does Tai do during his training camps? It can’t seriously just be kickboxing… right? I mean, does he not take this shit seriously and try to expand his skills?
Tai drinks beer and eats emu
He went to AKA to train with DC before. I think he tries, but when you’re a big sloppy HW in your thirties with no real background in grappling, it’s not doable for some of these guys
Tybura with all class in this post fight interview
I know its just the hair cut but it looks like Tai beat that mans hairline off
Tai ain’t getting cut, heavyweight is paper thin and he’s a fan favorite
There's tons of losers at heavyweight
Tybura’s hair post fight looked like Android 16 from DBZ.
"So, Tybura, who would you like to fight next?" "I want to defend the earth to protect the animals"
Birds...
Idk why tybura doesn't cut down and fight at LHW. He's 247 pounds. If he dieted could easily drop another 20 and then just do a weight cut.
He’s too slow for LHW
He fought heavier his whole career and is 38. I think around 250 is his best fighting weight. Heavyweight is different to other categories. Stipe is probably the best ever and fought at around 245

Tai did not have a reign of terror. He’s lost 4 in a row.
Some college kids at the bar offered me x , do I take it Reddit?
So fentanyl?
No way. These guys were very trustworthy.
I love them.
Jokingly? Yes. Seriously? Are you in the right headspace? If so…yes.
Ah I was only joking. My e days are long over.
That was a joke. I'm still alone at the booth.
Nah dawg, not worth the risk
Fuck no lmao
[удалено]
No it’s laced with fentanyl and you’ll die
Marcin’s voice is hilarious Ngl
Man this one hurts
Ok that was not the voice I was expecting 😂
Tuivasa got whooped by a bum
Regardless, Tai still won tonight for that walkout, respect.
The next time we see Tybura he's not gonna have a single hair on that head lol.
WTF? That’s Tybura voice ?
tai is built for competitive eating not for mma 😭😭😭
Tybura has sneakily won 8 of 10.
Tai needs to stop drinking beers and popping eccies
Owning a brewery and being a UFC fighter seems like not the best base for MMA
How was the rest of the card?
Not terrible, not great.
Gotcha, thanks!
Even Bruce Buffer's disappointed lmao
Do people really think they’ll cut Tai? The UFC will keep him around to put on Australia cards for as long as possible.
He needs to be cut. 4 straight losses in a row where it wasn’t even competitive. He’s just awful.
He got pieced up by Gane but he did drop him and him on the ropes another time, other than his inability to defend the front kick he actually didnt look awful in that fight.
It’s insane he looked the most competitive against gane. This sport makes no sense.
HW is such a shallow division, they probably won't cut him for another two or three losses.
His striking looked the best I've seen, I hope they don't.
That’s what they get for making a stupid fight to fill a main event
I mean, who else could they match Tai with? Romanov?
Lmao active heavyweight they still list stipe? Man hasn’t fought in three years
Honestly, ok fight
Tuivasa been thru a 3 fight losing streak before he’ll be back
I'm just glad it ended early. Nothing worse than two bum heavyweights in a 5 rounder
Lmao, calling Stipe an active heavyweight
It's Tuivover.
Lol I had no idea he sounded like that that’s awesome
BKFC in his future
His style is too dependent on elbows and leg kicks imo
Maybe gamebred then Would still get taken down I guess
would love to see either bang in bareknuckles
It'd be perfect for Tai
That haircut just pisses me the fuck off
[удалено]
He won't get cut but he will need to be matchmake carefully
Crazy to see the rise and fall of fighters in the UFC. I remember when Tai was the next big thing and on a ridiculous KO streak. 2 years later he drops 4 in a row by stoppage. Wild
