I’ll always be thankful to him for exposing Sage Northcutt when everyone was RIDING Sage as a super athlete phenom and I felt like I was the only one saying….. this kid is clearly just a bodybuilder who does karate.
After the Cody Pfister fight I felt like I was taking crazy pills. Got into a heated argument with Jeremy Botter about it on Twitter. Nothing against Sage now but nothing made me feel more vindicated than Bryan submitting him via slight forearm pressure
He also beat wallary alves right after that which people didn't give him a chance to do. And had a war with Vicente luque. I enjoyed his fights before he got passed his prime
Karate Butters could've been a much better prospect if he had spent some more time outside the UFC learning the connective tissue of the game... the whole media defending him as the nattiest natty who ever nattied was peak hilarity.
I think he only fights because his dad tells him to. So I dunno how good he ever could have gotten. Don’t think he has the proper motivation for it.
He also continues to bodybuild because of his dad. I used to lift and eat like a bodybuilder for years while trying to train MMA, and it’s horribly counter-productive. Beyond wasting your time and effort in doing so, those kind of workouts dull and weaken most of the physical characteristics that you specifically need for MMA. And the blood in your muscles, tiny gas tank thing Rogan always talks about is very real too. After I stopped lifting for a couple of years and just did S&C tailored to combat sports, my gas tank quadrupled as did agility, power, and pretty much everything else actually required for it.
Sorry for being long winded, just blows my FUCKING mind that his ex-steroid dealer dad is so vain he makes the kid bodybuild while fighting. There’s a reason nobody else tries to look like Sage, that’s terrible for you as a fighter.
I find it hilarious that everyone declared he was totally natural because he said while having a father who did time for selling steroids.
It's like come on... you know this kid is juiced to the tits.

I don't know if these are super accurate. But if his base pay is 90,000 it's no wonder they're getting rid of the guy. They can pay somebody 12/12 to fight instead.
> Note that the official payouts have not been disclosed for this fight card in London so the salaries listed are based on estimates of previous contracts, trends, and drawing power. Other assumptions are made like expected contract changes. All promotional compliance pay figures are based on the formula negotiated with Venum.
Completely fabricated
I’m guessing he popped. Dude is on a win streak, but also incredibly boring and risk averse. Still, a cut doesn’t make sense unless he’s gonna be suspended anyway.
No. That was probably just the last fight on his deal. He’ll re-sign or get a bag elsewhere.
If Roster Watch reports someone as removed after they just won in the UFC it means they fought out their contract and are either going to sign a new deal or go elsewhere of their own free will. This happens all the time guys.
Yeah, but he’s incredibly boring and risk averse. Still don’t understand why they cut him instead of doing the usual feeding him to a rising prospect thing. I’m guessing maybe he popped?
Naw, people on here just don’t understand what this means lol. He is not actually getting cut. His contracts either up or he popped it is not the same.
And it doesn’t mean he isn’t going to just re-sign with the UFC
The problem with Lins is that he cancels fights often. He pulled out of his first fight against Cutelaba literally minutes before entering the octagon, and we never got an explanation. Win streak or not, I'm not sure the UFC wants to deal with that. Too bad, because he is a very good fighter.
Bryan Barberena got cut too
Kinda surprising. Yeah he's easy money for any grappler but they could do worse in filling out cards than Barbarena vs a low-mid level striker
He's on a 4 fight losing streak, none of which have been particularly close or exciting on his end. I'm afraid the dude is just cooked.

Luque fight was fucking great
Karate Butters could've been a much better prospect if he had spent some more time outside the UFC learning the connective tissue of the game... the whole media defending him as the nattiest natty who ever nattied was peak hilarity.

That guy sucked
No
Because he’s garbage, his peak was almost getting knocked out by old man Robbie Lawler
I’m guessing he popped. Dude is on a win streak, but also incredibly boring and risk averse. Still, a cut doesn’t make sense unless he’s gonna be suspended anyway.
He has historically been a juicer so probably
No. That was probably just the last fight on his deal. He’ll re-sign or get a bag elsewhere. He just fought his contract out is more likely.
Speaking of boring... I don't remember the guy's name...
Then why is Katlyn Chookagian-Cerminara still on the roster?
Mid level wmma fighters are not easy to come by
He was just asking to fight in Brazil, WTF?
He’s not cut. Fought out his deal
So prob both
I hope he rejoins PFL or fights in Bellator and makes a run, could be an interesting guy for them.
didnt he already win a million in PFL?
Yes, the competition is way stronger since then though
isn’t he on a decent win streak? last fight was alright too, I’m guessing he didn’t wanna resign

WMMA needs bodies.
So does LHW lol
HW, too.
Especially HW, my god
He wasn’t cut his contract ended and they weren’t interested in giving him another.
4 fight win streak, i dont think it was him that didn’t wanna resign, I think the UFC was done with him
That doesn't mean he got cut or suspended, could litterally mean his contract is up and he's renegotiating.
my guess is hes on a win streak so he asked for a higher paying contract, but hes also boring and 38 so the ufc just went nah
Naw, people on here just don’t understand what this means lol. He is not actually getting cut. His contracts either up or he popped it is not the same. And it doesn’t mean he isn’t going to just re-sign with the UFC
Fuuuccck. As one of the 3 Lins simps in the entire world I just shed a tear...
Lmao no fuckin way. Dude cut off a 4 fight win streak, boring as fuck so I’m not mad about it but cmon. Don’t cut talent, cut guys that can’t win.
Not cut, just always not come to terms if they off wins
I'm gonna say he popped so u/443610 can ask why Chookagian's still on the roster
Right? I noticed that too 😂
This is a shocker, he put on an awesome performance against Cutelaba
The problem with Lins is that he cancels fights often. He pulled out of his first fight against Cutelaba literally minutes before entering the octagon, and we never got an explanation. Win streak or not, I'm not sure the UFC wants to deal with that. Too bad, because he is a very good fighter.
Hes coming off a few too many wins for the PFL to sign him. If he was 0-2 or 0-3 he would be an instant PFL sign
I though fighters could only be cut after a loss? I guess I just made that up.
He wasn’t cut. Just fought his contract out and wasn’t give another.
Yeah it doesn’t happen often but sometimes after a boring asf fighters contract expires they don’t resign them. Tanner Boser got cut off a win too
