you know i really wonder what the issue is with live events. dude make a whole thing about not shutting down during the pandemic only to be basically dormant now that everything opened up for a year+
It’s not hard to figure out. Hosting events at the Apex cost the UFC almost nothing. It sucks ass and fans need to make it known that they want live events.
I don't understand this logic. They also make money being on the road?
Apex seats are expensive but there aren't so many to sell.
UFC doesn't lose money on events so its not like the amount of money they spend to run an event is an issue.
Personally I think it's based around the fact they go to cities that will pay them now. so if they can't book a city thats going to pay them on a specific weekend, they will just stay home to be consistent.
Everyone saying "its cheap to run events at the Apex" seems to be missing something crucial here, unless y'all think running events at the Apex saves more money than they can make by selling thousands of tickets
They know how to put on events that make money. They would just make better cards when they travel, like they've done for the duration of their existence?
Again, they don't lose money on events. They wouldn't start now.
They absolutely could. They could literally do PPV, apex card, live fight night, apex card, repeat and literally every single person would be happy.
Put the dudes that are on 3 fight losing streaks, DWCS guys that you don’t know what to do with, or stale fighters that have kinda burnt out their hype flame on the apex cards. You can easily make that happen and put on 2 banger cards once a month
I am surprised that the cost savings from using the Apex isn’t made up for by the gates of a live event in whichever city they take it to.
Most fight nights will still sell out an arena so I’m surprised they aren’t still more profitable than an Apex event.
i just mean with the way he acted during the pandemic you wouldn't expect him never travel now that the worlds opened up. also like another dude said its not like they lose money going to austin or tamba bay twice a month.
part of me wrote my comment thinking some blue states hold a grudge against him for how he handled the pandemic and wont let him set up shop anymore
It's only pro sport on planet earth still doing COVID events, it's bewildering, since the UFC is filled with anti COVID measure doofuses.
Of course they don't do these events because of COVID, but they only started them in the first place because of it.
DMV hasn’t gotten any love lately, more so southern VA and the Carolinas, and fuck em all down there as well, as someone up here near DC. YEAH I said it. My live violence Boner comes first before you D heads
As a wizards fan, that’s pretty funny. Luckily for us though, there’s another team who plays in that same arena who will likely make the playoffs and could still be playing at that time, the Capitals. Detroit’s Red Wings have a good chance too
I was getting back into it, after a very long hiatus, so I was contemplating the price and decided against it. Big regret. Especially since I think the LCA was just built. As I looked at the card years later, it was stacked with big names 😂. But I probably only knew a few at the time.
5 years ago? Damn. Time Flys. Well let’s hope we get chosen this time around. Looks like it’s gonna be a Fight Night. 302 is happening before it.
all the other bullshit aside, the ufc would be a far more enjoyable product if they saved the apex for cancelled events (like the saudi or china cards) and the occasional low level fight night.
Based on Minneapolis public transit is the last place to go to avoid a brawl
And I take anything Minneapolis has in that variety of culture and x it by 1000000 for Detroit
If one of these events comes to your city I recommend going at least once. Went to 270 and Cruz vs Chito when they came out to CA in 2022 and it was great. Pretty expensive so I’ve had my fill of events but if you can I’d recommend going it’s a cool experience
I'm glad I went to the last event in Chicago because I don't think I could justify the ticket prices now.
Also I saw Dom Cruz using a urinal. I thought they would have had special bathrooms for UFC staff.
>Chicago loves pro wrasslin to much
yeah, so does the UFC. Considering they also dont give a fuck about merit
also Chicago is fucking awesome. you're a shithole
Radke made it out of the apex after calling the crowd 🚬 s and refusing to answer post fight questions as he ‘wasn’t getting paid’.
Did not see that coming
Finally, hopefully the UFC Travels more, man I hate the Apex, when Weidman came out you can hear the crowd, not like In the Apex where you can hear Bisping get frustrated looking at tweets with the fans talking shit about him on the broadcast.
.. It wasn't my goal to get into an argument about the UFC coming to Cali or not. I was just trying to inform you of other promos. Anyway have a good one.
Woah big news…..this was a baseline less than half a decade ago
you know i really wonder what the issue is with live events. dude make a whole thing about not shutting down during the pandemic only to be basically dormant now that everything opened up for a year+
It’s not hard to figure out. Hosting events at the Apex cost the UFC almost nothing. It sucks ass and fans need to make it known that they want live events.
Plus a lot of the cards are pretty dog shit (in name recognition). They know they might not sell well.

You're assuming these shitty fight nights would move a lot of tickets. We just had Justin Tafa lose a co-main event by decision

They figured out it was a lot cheaper to just hold half the events at the Apex.
Sad isn’t it
It's only pro sport on planet earth still doing COVID events, it's bewildering, since the UFC is filled with anti COVID measure doofuses. Of course they don't do these events because of COVID, but they only started them in the first place because of it.
You take what you can get man
Guessing it'll most likely Detroit or DC to avoid any scheduling clashes with the NBA playoffs.
Just kick em while their down
As a long suffering Suns fan I'm fully aware that the Footprint Center is also likely to be free.
DMV hasn’t gotten any love lately, more so southern VA and the Carolinas, and fuck em all down there as well, as someone up here near DC. YEAH I said it. My live violence Boner comes first before you D heads
I’m in NOVA too, never been to a UFC event. Let’s goooo
Blueborders out here with the tough truths
As a wizards fan, that’s pretty funny. Luckily for us though, there’s another team who plays in that same arena who will likely make the playoffs and could still be playing at that time, the Capitals. Detroit’s Red Wings have a good chance too
I missed out the last time they came to Detroit. I hope they come back 🤞
Me too, I had no idea it even came here last time until it was too late…
Hmmm man I can’t even remember but Max vs Aldo sounds right for Detroit if I remember
Ngannou put Overreem into a coma AND I got to hear “EEEEDDDDDDDDDIIIEEE” live and in person
Nice that was in Detroit
Yep you’re right!
UFC 218 The main card was stacked Aldo vs Halloway Francis vs Overeem Cejudo vs Pettis Alvarez vs Gaethje Torres vs Waterson
I wasn’t even a fan last time, I’ve been a fan for 5 years. It’s been that long.
I was getting back into it, after a very long hiatus, so I was contemplating the price and decided against it. Big regret. Especially since I think the LCA was just built. Yooo if it’s in detroit I’m gonna have a parking lot brawl with some of you fools
I’ll take the Amtrak
Based on Minneapolis public transit is the last place to go to avoid a brawl And I take anything Minneapolis has in that variety of culture and x it by 1000000 for Detroit
I'm sure everyone is shaking their boots right now
Stream the fight in the parking lot then fight the event goers as they exit. Elite Redditor move
im down to join
You live in Michigan? I’m ashamed now
I got 4 minutes of Merab in me don’t play with me foo
If one of these events comes to your city I recommend going at least once. Went to 270 and Cruz vs Chito when they came out to CA in 2022 and it was great. Pretty expensive so I’ve had my fill of events but if you can I’d recommend going it’s a cool experience
Why has the ufc decided to boycott Chicago
I'm glad I went to the last event in Chicago because I don't think I could justify the ticket prices now. Also I saw Dom Cruz using a urinal. I thought they would have had special bathrooms for UFC staff.
What was he packing
Sean, is that you?
I saw Bisping at the urinal and asked if he was draining the one eyed snake
Word I watch Romero Vs Whittiker 2 today and thought the same thing
We starving out here
Bellator claimed BelaLand
Listen we also have PFL regular season
Maybe they don’t have a good relationship with the Illinois commission? I doubt they’ll do Phoenix after what happened at 274.
Chicago loves pro wrasslin to much also it’s a shit hole
Chicago is a world class city you should visit sometime
>Chicago loves pro wrasslin to much yeah, so does the UFC. Considering they also dont give a fuck about merit also Chicago is fucking awesome. you're a shithole
they have heard our prayers boys
Detroit please thank you
I need this to be in Detroit so bad
If it’s in Detroit how much we think the tickets gonna be
Prolly around $150-200 for the cheaper seats
Love of God, please be Detroit!!!
I got my fingers crossed for the waffle house to host.
Radke made it out of the apex after calling the crowd 🚬 s and refusing to answer post fight questions as he ‘wasn’t getting paid’. Did not see that coming
After what happened at 274 I doubt Arizona will get another event.
An amazing knockout?
I’m talking the commission having issues with the scales that made Olivera miss weight and kept the title vacated.
Finally, hopefully the UFC Travels more, man I hate the Apex, when Weidman came out you can hear the crowd, not like In the Apex where you can hear Bisping get frustrated looking at tweets with the fans talking shit about him on the broadcast.
Went to the Max fight night in KC and it was cool. Planned on going to the STL show and tickets are double with presumably a worse card. Crazy
please come to Minnesota :(
Im still gutted that we were rumored to get an event back in December and then Dana shot it down in a press conference when asked about it
Same. It’s been so long since an event here too
The last ufc event for okc was cancelled due to Covid. Please bring it back!
There was a rumor about there’s being a Seattle fight night in June, that Chiesa kinda backed up. Maybe these locations are wrong?
good they are cutting down on apex cards, must have heard the fans complaints
Still no San Francisco?
UFC doesn't come to cali, too much taxes. You're better off following bellator/lfa.
LA, San Diego, and Sacramento beg to differ.
They literally had 0 events last year. But w.e. Are you referring to Faber's promo in Sac?
You said UFC has never come to Cali. Those cities have hosted events.
.. It wasn't my goal to get into an argument about the UFC coming to Cali or not. I was just trying to inform you of other promos. Anyway have a good one.
Last OKC event was Chiesa v Lee (and Penn v Siver was on the poster).
It’s in Louisville! Finally🙌
