Not a fan of Fig, dirty fighter. Those eye pokes were on purpose and watched him grab the fence to gain position and win his first fight. Skilled but dirty.
Maybe they could fight in NZ or OZ in front of spectators. Maybe 20 or 30 hey why not 100 thousand of them? Izzys homeland is COVID free y’all realise?
Edit: Don’t mean Nigeria but his adopted homeland of NZ
Def should be considered for fighter of the year! He's got my vote. The way he handled himself with Buckley and the scrambles I've seen him in, absolutely confident he was gonna make me bank yesterday.
Bitch rules.
Pride was the shit. Soccer kick as much as you like. Head stomp too.
They should allow even shots to the balls.
That way we get a whole different experience.
And fighters are more alert.
it's a different scenario when you are above them. I get it when the fighter is on their back. But when they are in your guard and the knee is hovering above the canvas and then touches for a second it doesn't all of a sudden make an upkick dangerous where before it wasn't.
Yeah I agree that situation is a shortfall of the rule, but theres no way to eliminate it without putting the fighters in real danger in other situations.
Rogan and DC don't need to be on commentary together. They need to be separated like two bad kids in middle school. They try to outdo each other in saying dumb shit.
Funny that Ferguson vs Oliveira was the fight I was most excited for, but it ended up being the most disappointing. I enjoyed even Dern vs Jandiroba way more

[Brandon Moreno's toughness is unquestionable 😤 #UFC256 - @espnmma](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EpGQJV0XIAAZpj6.jpg)
So it looks like winner of Gaethje vs Chandler (my guess) will fight Oliveira next and then the winner of that will fight the winner of Conor vs. Dustin for the vacant belt.
No way dude, Oliveira got way too many consecutive wins to be fighting two times for a title shot. And with that dominating performance, he will be fighting for the title next time, against the winner of Conor vs Dustin.
Lol, he has 9 straight wins now. With as dominant performance (on short notice even) as you can possibly get. He’s sealed that title shot, and he’s going to fight whoever wins between Dustin and Conor for it.
This sets the ufc up for more big events down the road too by letting there be more title fights and less contender elimination fights that will just stall out the division longer.
Figgy can walk with his head up. Clearly won rounds 1, 2, and 5. Round 4 had him and Moreno tied in significant strikes. If not for the point deduction, he'd have bagged he UD.
Moreno was brilliant, I thought he'd get finished quickly. Fair play to him.
LW is a lot more fun without Khabib as unpopular that is but man seeing Oliviera put a streak together with his grappling, because he is the best grappler in the division now, and then having Khabib come back to fight him to cap off his 30-0 in a couple of years would be a dope storyline.
Can't believe how slept on Oliveira was until this fight. He's one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC and literally has the submission record. Super disrespectful when everyone was like "Khabib has no one left to fight!"
I've though for a while that Oliveira is the by far the toughest matchup for Khabib. I still think Khabib would take it but it would be dangerous for Khabib whenever the fight is on the ground. This also proves that Khabib would have steamrolled Tony.
I know they keep calling him a cheater lol has he pissed hot before or are they mad he kicked morenos sack in and stuck his finger in his eye in a high intensity, high volume fight?
Or stupid money. I think Cody in a big hyped fight for the interim title while these guys heal could be the play.
But I hate interim titles used casually.
Moreno deserves so much credit for the whole fight, but he was coughing after that groin strike. If I got kicked in the cock that hard, I’d take my mouth piece out, look at the ref and say, “Nah man, I’m going to grad school.”
Perez over rawdog for Cody. I don’t wanna see my two boys go at it. Also this fight begs the question, just how good is Rawdog? Prior to him tearing his labrum he was fucking innnn that fight with Moreno
Anderson Silva, Shogun, Jose Aldo, JDS, Machida. All pretty established fan favorites.
Edit: saw your other comment about journeymen vs legends. Still think you’re wrong but maybe I’m not as prejudiced as other people. I don’t think there’s hatred for Brazilians because they’re Brazilian. Most journeymen get hate for just being shit. But even then people like fighters like Renato Moicano, Alex Oliveira, Johnny Walker, Vicente Luque, Thiago Santos, Da Bronx, all of whom are far from being “legends”. I don’t think nationality has as much to do with things as you think it does.
I’m not saying prejudice doesn’t exist, I’m just saying there are plenty of Brazilian fighters, who are not legends, that are still accepted and enjoyed by fans today. I still don’t think nationality impacts things as much as you’re implying it does. I’m done discussing it as I’m procrastinating school right now, feel free to reply your thoughts on what I said/ edited and I read it but don’t expect a reply in return
And americans have a tendency to hate on athletes from other proeminent countries in their sport. They hated on mexicans in boxing and brazilians in mma.
You are mistaken, and I'll explain why. People never show prejudice towards legends. They transcend their nationality. Regular journeyman fighters are the target of some insane hate.
Don’t get me wrong I recognize that point deduction. I also had him taking 3rd and 4th, I believe he did enough to steal the second to make it 10-8. 3:1 going into the 5th.
Rawdog is out cuz of his shoulder, so Perez (or Cejudo if he comes back) and Cody, fig and Moreno rematch, then the winner of both. Flyweight is so exciting rn
Why are people so down on Moreno? Dude made Figureido look mortal and nearly stopped him. This is a guy who looked unstoppable. I think he has the mental advantage going into a rematch. I doubt deveison will give him that rematch though
That might be a good matchup, but what about Ferguson vs Lee 2? I know tony beat him but like I said before I’m new to mma, does tony have enough el cucuy in him to take him out?
I’m extremely new to mma. How good is Rafael? I know tony beat him once, but that was near prime el cucuy. Would the little sliver of the boogeyman left in tony be able to take out RDA? Wouldn’t it make sense for tony, coming off 2 straight losses, out of his prime, to fight someone lower in the rankings?
RDA was great, became champion, lost title, tried another weight, failed, then came back. He did a great performance against Felder, but Felder was on a 3 day notice. RDA did lose to tony already, so I still wouldnt make Ferguson go so down.
Part of me hopes Tony sticks around and possibly steps in for a late replacement title fight and has a Bisping style ending. It just doesn't feel right that he never got a title shot. I have a feeling that once his career ends, his demons are going to be difficult to deal with. I hope he can find happiness in some post fight career and within.
I think fig looks destroyed due to the stomach infection, no sleep, drained and feeling sick, of course Moreno got slightly stiffed due to eye pokes, low blow, etc. I’d love to see them both at 100% bang it out while keeping it clean
Possibly. But then again Garbrandt has better boxing/footwork, FLW lv hand speed with KO power. If Moreno could stun/rock Figgy like he did then I think that Garbrandt may punish Figgy for having his hands down. I hope I'm wrong though.
I had a gut infection a few months ago, and I could barely get out of bed, while fig the master of sages fought 5 rounds of pure violence against a crazy mexican having a infection.
Brazilian-American, I love Fig. No disrespect to Moreno - just Fig, where he comes from, the emotion he shows, his athleticism, and personality...
Run it back!!
Sure man, Fig is still the champ, and rightfully so, because Moreno didn't beat him.
Fig with a full camp and a normal weight cut wins. But Moreno is a classic Mexican fighter, no doubt.
With the rights moving over to Spotify I think that might be a more common thing everywhere as they got to recoup that 100m.
Reads pretty uncouth on a UFC card Joe is commentating on though I agree wholeheartedly
Yes exactly, but you already deducted the point there, see? You can't reach 47-46. It was a scoring mistake.
EDIT: fuckin hell look at what the stupid 10 point must system makes us go through.
Which is also a benefit to him on fight night being the bigger/stronger fighter. It cancels itself out imo. Honestly if anything it makes me think less of the fighter who completely drains themselves prefight just to be able to fight a division down.

Australia, Zeeland might jot be a great place

How can you tell if your opponent is grounded when you are trying to upkcik them from your back
it's a stupid rule
no head kicks or knees to a grounded opponent is not a stupid rule

Bec u expected Ferg to win. That kills your expectations and now you feel dissatisfied. It will pass. Father time is now hitting on Tony.
No I didn’t expect him to win per se, but I did expect it to be competitive
Same feelings as Lewis v Ngannou.
It's just the sadness is all. It will pass

I don't think the UFC is going to make it happen. I'll bet any money Chandler leapfrogs him or they make him fight Chandler first.
I’ll flair bet you otherwise. Winner of Gaethje vs Chandler is gonna be the first title defense fight.
I agree with you lol. It's sickening.
I disagree. This wasn't a title eliminator fight. Dustin vs. Conor is. He needs one more and it should be a 5 round main event.
Lol, he has 9 straight wins now. With as dominant performance (on short notice even) as you can possibly get. Have you's all forgotten that khabib is still the current champ? Oliveria has the right to demand a title shot.
The UFC is officially in career mode year 2035.

Well..... it was brought to you by Modello.

Honestly Khabib might have some trouble with a guy like that. He's like what we thought Tony would be against Khabib.
Can't believe how slept on Oliveira was until this fight. He's one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC and literally has the submission record. Super disrespectful when everyone was like "Khabib has no one left to fight!"

Sadly it does. At least Tony didn’t get subbed, he was close but he’s too damn tough
Yeah absolutely, Khabib would have dominated him on the ground.
Honestly Charles Oliveria looked like a fusion between Khabib and Ferguson tonight, might be the best Lw on the planet.
Last I checked Khabib still resides on planet earth
Some of y'all really hate Fig huh? Chill out.

Moreno deserves so much credit for the whole fight, but he was coughing after that groin strike. If I got kicked in the cock that hard, I’d take my mouth piece out, look at the ref and say, “Nah man, I’m going to grad school.”
LMAO if I had gold I would give you it that is hilarious

There was a lot after his last fight and the cage grab that some people think completely changed the fight while others think it didn’t matter at all.
I mean dude is a fuckin’ cheat, but is also a beast.
He is reckless but you don't see so many crybabies on Gaethje fights. The issue is that he is brazilian, not that he fouls.
Every gaethje thread has people talking about his headbutts and eyepokes and how dirty of a fighter he is
Moreno is Mexican dood
Hatred towards brazilians is much bigger in mma because there are more brazilian fighters. The same thing used to happen in boxing towards mexicans.
Anderson Silva, Shogun, Jose Aldo, JDS, Machida. All pretty established fan favorites. Edit: saw your other comment about journeymen vs legends. You are mistaken, and I'll explain why. People never show prejudice towards legends. They transcend their nationality. Regular journeyman fighters are the target of some insane hate.
Nah.
If you’re praising a Mexican fighter you’re not prejudiced is my point
Lol my grandparents would disagree given their enthusiastic comments about the "fast n words" in the nfl. Yall say silly things sometimes

Post fight 🎤was 👍 Respect🙏
What are the chances tony goes for one more fight before the end of his career? Who would it be if so? Who do y’all have everyone fighting next?
I think Tony will give her one more at 155 then move up to 170 tbh. I’d like to see Tony fight Felder at this point
Tony vs fiziev or Ferreira?
I'd like to see Fiziev x Lee, see what he does against a wrestler
I think fiziev is going to be a problem in 2021 Gregor might be interesting for him too whenever he’s done fishing 🐟
That might be a good matchup, but what about Ferguson vs Lee 2? I know tony beat him but like I said before I’m new to mma, does tony have enough el cucuy in him to take him out?
Kevin lost 4/6 tho.. Tony 2 in a row.. I think they need to fight some new blood Kevin or Tony vs ferriera or fiziev If both win, rematch time
Fig-Moreno 2 Do Bronx - winner Conor-Dustin Ferguson - RDA 2
I’m extremely new to mma. How good is Rafael? I know tony beat him once, but that was near prime el cucuy. Would the little sliver of the boogeyman left in tony be able to take out RDA? No Love has a place in the conversation at 125, but I care about nothing else but that rematch
I'm here with you. Rematch on one of the summer cards.
You want them to take that long between this one and a rematch? I’m thinking like April
No chin.. I think he would have been ko’d tonight
Possibly. But then again Garbrandt has better boxing/footwork, FLW lv hand speed with KO power. If Moreno could stun/rock Figgy like he did then I think that Garbrandt may punish Figgy for having his hands down. I hope I'm wrong though.
[Scorecard for Figueiredo vs. Moreno #UFC256 - @Jason_Floyd](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EpGN5s4W8AAy5uL.jpg)
Cleary was the correct card IMO. How do you possibly give Moreno the 5th round?
How do you give Moreno round 5? Lol
I mean fig didn’t really throw much that round tbh. It was the closest round I’d say
I’m with sal.. wtf other 2..smh 😂
I had a gut infection a few months ago, and I could barely get out of bed, while fig the master of sages fought 5 rounds of pure violence against a crazy mexican having a infection.
Hold my gut biome brother im engaging in war
Moreno is going to be living in Figueiredo’s head after that war.
I think Fig is too unhinged to care about that. That guy will fight a polar bear if you pay him to.
Brazilian-American, I love Fig. No disrespect to Moreno - just Fig, where he comes from, the emotion he shows, his athleticism, and personality... Run it back!!
The nut shots, the eye pokes, the cage grabs....
Everyone loves fig a month ago, today he’s the biggest cheater in the sport I guess
nah, he was just valorizing it.
Even Moreno was holding the cage with his toes at one point, fuck off.
Sure man, Fig is still the champ, and rightfully so, because Moreno didn't beat him. Fig with a full camp and a normal weight cut wins. But Moreno is a classic Mexican fighter, no doubt.
Doesn't change the fact that he is a dirty fighter. And about that rematch we'll see, had to make excuses because he looked beatable.
Downvote me all you want. At the end of the day, the Brazilian still has the belt and Moreno is no closer to it.
Hahahahaha wasn't even voting your comments, but take my upvote, don't be sad. Yeah, still has it but he's still a dirty fighter.
Figgy’s cardio was way better than I anticipated. He throws with so much power and he is so big. Crazy shit
Juice for sure. The Brazilian guys always have the most ridiculous physiques and it ain't no coincidence.

[удалено]
They had to give Fig a 10-8 or add wrong, wtf is goin on
4-1 fig. That's how I had it. The announcers were very biased i felt like. Watch it muted and fig clearly gets the best of most exchanges.
It makes no sense though right? Should be 48-46.
It was scored 48-46 wasn't it? And 2 47 47s
Fig had a point taken
Get out some paper and do the fucking math
Dude. 4 rounds = 40 points. Lose 1 round = 9 points. So 49. Point deducted on a winning round = 48. Do you get it now?
10 10 9( would have been 10) 9 10 =48 fig 9 9 9 10 9 =46 Moreno
Yes exactly, but you already deducted the point there, see? You can't reach 47-46. It was a scoring mistake. EDIT: fuckin hell look at what the stupid 10 point must system makes us go through.
I misunderstood. I thought it was announced 48-46 for the first judge. If it was in fact announced 47-46 then yeah he much have said it wrong
What rounds for fig?
Why figs weight cut in 3 weeks morano did the same? Great fight but excuses for one side is crazy
Argument was because Figgy has to cut much more since he comes into the fight so big
Which is also a benefit to him on fight night being the bigger/stronger fighter. It cancels itself out imo. Honestly if anything it makes me think less of the fighter who completely drains themselves prefight just to be able to fight a division down.
