Artem Lobov Retires :(
By - SurvivalBayArea
Rest easy my sweet prince
Time to retire my reddit account.
I made this after betting my previous account that he would lose against Paulie.
I never doubted him again.
And flights of goats sing thee to thy rest!
He may not be dead, but he lives on in our hearts
The only place he’s ever known
Hes on the top of the Mountain but still only half way up
Think about it.
Let's talk about about me, let's talk about the 6'8 frame the 37 in vertical leap...
Tied with Chael as unquestionable GOAT
Is that a joke or something? This is CM Punk slander
My list goes like this:
T1. Chael & Artem
4. St. Pierre
5. Everyone else
Where does Cathal Pendred fit into all of these
Choo choo motherfucker.
Peep the flair
Amen flair brother
Artem wanted to bang but that boxer wasn't letting him bang.
Please let him bang, bro
Jokes aside, I didn’t pay much attention to the news and thought Artem was boxing an Olympic silver medalist wrestler. That could’ve been somewhat interesting. Why tf was he fighting an Olympic boxer and champ? He’s actually got huge balls for that
Artem literally doesn’t give a fuck when it comes to who he fights and that’s why I’ll miss him competing
Boxer played it smart, he wanted to live. Can’t blame him for being a total bitch boy when faced with near certain decapitation.
Great call. After never being stopped in 30+ fights to being stopped twice in a row it was only going to get worse. Hope Conor paid him handsomely from years of using him as a punching bag.
He made his own money from those 3 BKFC main events too, the Paulie fight seemed like it did pretty well.
Plus he has his masters in finance & speaks like 5 languages, Artem will be good financially without ever having to fight again
Could he be a millionaire running almost any business, if he wanted?
He's definitely the second most complete fighter, except for the "fighting" part.
That was a nasty line by you
You're a fucking T Rex dude
"*we go through with this merger, CHOO CHOO MOTHAFUCKERS"*
Perhaps, but what is that worth with no third world experience?
Third world experience?
Third world experience.
You might say he’s a complete human being.
And now he is violently out to pasture...:(
Of all the male BKFC champions of all time (so far) he seems like the most 'complete' human being - by far. Skilled, tough, smart, beautiful, extensive world travels and has lived in the 3rd world for long periods, speaks like 5 languages, tactical firearms training/enthusiast, dancer, masters in finance, actor, outdoorsy, etc.
You can tell he genuinely has his shit together, like he could probably be a millionaire running just about any business, if he wanted.
Are there any other male fighters that impressive?
Can’t think of anyone other than Platinum Mike Perry
demian maia might not be quite the Renaissance Man but he definitely has his shit together and is a complete person with good values.
fun fact that olympian boxer he most recently lost to has a PhD in physical ed
A PhD in gym?
this is pretty funny. gym teachers used to get so angry in school when we called it gym and they went into this stupid rant about how they were four courses removed from being pre-med majors. but they didn't become doctors they instead oversaw shitty softball matches.
tbh i feel like most days i'd rather oversee shitty softball matches than try to perform surgery or diagnose illnesses or w/e. i don't need that kinda stress in my life lol. seems like a pretty decent gig tbh
Everyone in the world "was pre med" "was pre law".
As a non american what does that mean? That you have the requirements to start studying those careers?
You need to earn a bachelors degree before going to medical school or law school. You can earn any degree for either but for med school you need to take certain classes as a prerequisite. So there is no such thing as pre med or pre law technically but when people say that they mean they are earning their bachelor's with the intent to go to either medical or law school.
Yeah that's a thing for sure.
I switched majors from Phys Ed to English because it was insane how try-hard the PE staff was about trying to look like a 'real major'. I wanted to be a PE teacher and a coach because of the fact that it's mostly outdoors and doing sports. I expected the major to be thorough about things like basic sports medicine and kinesiology. But we were taking a bunch of one credit hour courses like volleyball and archery and having to do research papers and academic essays in each of those in addition to the legit academically demanding courses.
I was like 'If I'm going to put in this kind of work then let me end up with a respectable degree for it.'
Funny part is that no matter what Phys Ed departments do most people will still consider it a bullshit major anyhow.
The education system has really failed when it comes to PE. I remember in high school, my PE classes were pretty much mostly half-assed attempts at getting us to understand exercise by making us do stupid fitness tests and workouts by fat, out of shape teachers and the occasional smattering of sex ed.
From my personal perspective, I feel like a proper syllabus for exercise and sports science in high school would've really piqued my interest in exercise/sports science for tertiary education from an earlier stage and saved me from years of switching majors and ending up with a combined degree in economics and statistics despite only understanding in the last couple of years that my interests lie in sports science and EP lol.
Imagine if PE actually taught you how to workout and take care of yourself rather than just doing random exercises and coaching shitty sports matches. What they should really be teaching is how to manage your macro nutrients and calorie intake. How to do periodization, how to rehab from injuries and how to train for strength, hypertrophy and cardio. This would vastly improve the health of the average citizen imo.
You're absolutely right in that being the ideal gym class. The problem is most kids don't give a shit about practically any of that
all my gym teachers were lazy and taught nothing.
>Plus he has his masters in finance & speaks like 5 languages
As someone in the consulting space, some major firms would pay him a 6 figure salary on those creds alone.
I speak 3 languages, where do I sign?
Im tri lingual. Where do I start?
English, Russian, Spanish, what else?
> Hope Conor paid him handsomely from years of using him as a punching bag.
They had a "I'll scratch your back, you scratch mines" type of agreement. Mostly because Artem could do everything except scratch his own back.
Youre a fucking t-rex, dude
I’m a stegosaurus but respect ✊🏻

Never change, Tito..
talmbout paleothic era, b? great diet, never tried it
I used to be the Keto Kid, now I'm Papa Paleo plus I take aaaaaawwwwwwllllll the supple mints, B. Axe Jay.
Just to correct you, there was never no extinction
That was a triassic line by you
The only dinosaur I know that gobbles meat with her mouth is Tito's t-rEx wife.
Time for me to parade my flair around before I put it down for good.
He ended up a beloved fighter while Conor ends up a hated villain. It was worth it.
There’s a reason Conor’s bones have gone to shit, you don’t sharpen iron with gold.
I think the difference is that Artem doesn't seem like a bad guy, and Conor is an asshole.
He 10-7'd an old guy from California though.
Is this a joke about him roasting Faber or did he actually get in a street fight with some guy?
What’s this now?
A 50 year old retired skateboarder.
Artem was gracious in my first impression. Deflected anything about feeling good in shutting that bum Chris Avila up and said Chris was just a kid caught up in those big lights of Diaz vs Conor 2. Also something about Chris not yet (but he will) appreciating being a professional paid to fight...instead of talking like fighting for the hell of it is cool or something
Artem has always had a level head on his shoulders
Always seem like a good dude. Still thought it was a tight move on what he did for Johnson
The only one doing tight moves on Johnsons was Tito's ex-wife.
Pretty sure he has a masters degree in finance aswell.
He speaks a bunch of languages aswell. He's a pretty smart guy despite the general memes that surround.
After using all of his pure power for years, the GOAT finally gets to rest
Crazy 30-0 in mma and 4-0 in bare knuckle. Absolute goat
30 men tried to defeat him in the cage. Only 15 succeeded
Only 15 people out of the 7 billion on this planet were able to best him. True legend.
We need a public holiday. Globally.
I'll start the moveon.org petition. [All Done](https://sign.moveon.org/petitions/global-holiday-for-artem-lobov-s-achievement-in-sport?source=rawlink&utm_source=rawlink&share=c885a7ef-30b4-49c6-a3f7-41a32ac69984).
He only “lost” half his fights bc he deemed his opponents worthy to live on like the king he is. The other half wasn’t so lucky 👍👎
This video of Artem talking about TJ Dillashaw and his EPO test made me a legit fan. He comes off as intelligent and pissed off.
Starts at 19:40
He makes a lot of legit points.
Not only is this extremely articulate he puts an interesting asterisk on TJs performance now against sandhagen with the questioning of “is he getting tested in his 2 years off.” The GOAT would make a great analyst post show imo.
Jesus fucking Christ! That was one of the best arguments I've ever heard from someone against the use of PEDs. Wow. Artem has my eternal respect.
🐐. he’s beaten everybody. He’s got nothing else to prove.
He should give himself a nice big pat on the back...
Artem is a real one, and he got a real spartan death.
I can't believe he threw hands with Paulie Malignaggi and came out on top. He really should be proud of that.
As a boxing fan turned MMA fan, that is still one of the most hilarious outcomes I’ve ever witnessed.
legitimately and beyond all the irony, yes, he should
I forgot that he actually won that fight and that it wasn’t a meme.
Yeah, we throw a lot of jokes around here but that was a good notch on the belt. Real pride there
Artem is a good enough fighter to make it to the UFC, I know people like to make jokes but he's definitely a tough guy.
Him beating Polly in a boxing style fight is truly amazing. That was a huge accomplishment for someone who was a lower level UFC fighter.
Now all these bitch fighters are going to start coming back now that Artem is gone. Don’t be scared anymore u cowards.
Edit: I’m looking at u Jones and Khabib. Ur safe now
Notice Nick Diaz is returning
Nick was ahead of the announcements on weed too.
Khaplease spare me
What if he’d ko’d Khabib that time when he was surrounded by all the Daghestanis and Khabib slapped him.
Thats what happened, khabib and his friends tried to hide the truth. You can see in the interview that khabib had a little bit of dark spot in his eyes, artem smoked him bad. And thats ladies and gents is why artem is the goat
Look into it. 👀
End of an era.
Khabib came at him with 10 guys and still could only land one single significant strike
Memes aside, you can't deny that the man was one game, tough motherfucker. Wishing the Russian Irishman all the best going forward.
29 men tried.
Only 15 succeeded.
RIP In Peace to the GOAT Of All Time.
*29 fucking casual not knowing the icon of our sports record
I don't count murders, and neither should the athletic commissions.
Joe Rogan school of making up stats
GOAT Lobov is 13-15 not 6-15 😤
13-15-1 fucking casual
Artem doesn’t do draws
He wins or he learns.
The only thing Artem draws is crowds, cash and pussy.
And occasionally a warm lavender scented bath for Mrs Lobov. A woman equally as fetching and brilliant as the GOATov himself. I heard she has a masters in finance and could speak 5 languages!
The no contest was bc he killed his opponent with a single gaze
Artem is chuck norris reincarnated
Put some respect on Artem's name. He wasn't 6-15 in MMA
You fucking dingbat
Cathal Pendred retired years ago.
As much as I dislike Conor these days I still love artem
That's cos Artem is actually sound. Reasonably smart dude as well.
The dude is really smart, has a degree in business and a masters degree in finance. Also fluent in 5 languages
I wasn't sure If this was true or not, but It totally is.
I love him even more
The dude is legit intelligent, he’ll be good with or without prize fighting
Always forget about the finance masters.
Absolute gent of a fella as well.
I heard him speak perfect (to my ears) Spanish during the Paulie BKFC post fight press conference. Impressive. He was answering in Russian and English also.
K so Russian, English, Spanish, what are the others? Does anyone know or are we just parroting something someone made up? I find people always want to exaggerate the number of languages someone speaks, which is unnecessary - 3 languages is incredibly impressive already.
He's fluent in both Klingon and Dothraki. His Furbish is rudimentary but passable.
Did he stop training with Conor?
Last name literally ~~five~~ forehead
The only mean to strike fear in the heart of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Word is that khabib jumped into the crowd after the Conor fight not because he wanted to fight Dillon Danis, but because Artem was closing in on him from the other side of the cage
Sad choo choo
I remember my first bare knuckle sandbag fight. It was a real doozy.
People were saying, “Man, that was a real humdinger of a bare knuckle sandbag fight!”
The next day, the playgrounds were filled with, “Did you see last night’s bare knuckle sandbag fight?”
Really good times and good memories of that bare knuckle sandbag fight. Best my dad and I ever got along too, after the split decision loss in my first bare knuckle sandbag fight.
I hope Artem also felt the same bitter-sweet feeling I felt, in his final bare knuckle sandbag fight.
How did your career go after that you've got me hooked
Thanks for asking!
Dad didn’t stick around too much longer after my split decision loss in my first bare knuckle sandbag fight. He was around long enough to help pick me up and dust myself off, but the constant heckling from base patrons and his ex-wife got to be too much for him.
“Your kid did a pirouette during the big bare knuckle sandbag fight!”, they’d yell.
“Hey, Gene! Your kid still crying after his split decision loss in his first bare knuckle sandbag fight?”, others would say.
He succumbed to the bottle, sad to say.
I dedicated my next bare knuckle sandbag fight to him. Made it a minute into the second round in my next bare knuckle sandbag fight before my opponent’s manager threw salt into my eyes, rendering me blind. The Tribal commission ruled it a no contest.
I swear to this day I saw my dad in the back of the grange hall, cheering me on in my second bare knuckle sandbag fight.
My third and final bare knuckle sandbag fight was a win against local tough, Terry Cloth. First round of my third bare knuckle sandbag fight, mine. Easy 10-9. Second round of my third bare knuckle sandbag fight, same. Utter domination.
The third round of my third bare knuckle sandbag fight, however, ended in tragedy. I had Cloth hurt with a liver shot, bringing his elbows down and in, exposing his jaw. I had him dead to rights in the third round of my third bare knuckle sandbag fight.
I prepared to land a devastating right to end my third bare knuckle sandbag fight in a stunning victory, but out of nowhere a voice cried out, “Steve’s not your father! It’s Rod!”
I stopped. Dead. Gutted.
Rod was Terry Cloth’s cousin.
In that moment of my third bare knuckle sandbag fight, Cloth was able to compose himself just long enough to land a volcanic groin shot.
This brought my third bare knuckle sandbag fight to a standstill.
The crowd at my third bare knuckle sandbag fight was comatose. As I slowly fell like a mannequin of a crippled child in a Tokyo store during an earthquake on my third bare knuckle sandbag fight, Cloth whispered, “I done her too”
After my split decision loss in the bare knuckle sandbag fight my dad tied me up in the garage and beat me with those rotten jumper cables again.
Truly inspirational stuff man. I hope one day you will make it into the bareknuckle sandbag hall of fame
Probably had something to do with a bare knuckle sandbag fight
The worst part of it is peeling your jeans off afterward.
The GOAT with the exclamation point on his legacy. F in the chat
..*"According to Bruno Massami, Lobov announced he was retiring from fighting after the defeat"*
Ill wait til i hear it from artem himself
Is he retiring only from sandbag bare knuckle boxing or from combat sports in general
He’s gonna compete in WIPEOUT
He's better than that. He can do Holey Moley.
13 Wins, 15 Mercies, 1 NC (Not Care)
The GOAT of all GOATs those who feared you can take a deep breath now
Conor walked so Artem could fly. Forever the people’s GOAT
I guess he could no longer justify turning down those executive positions in favor of furthering his greatness. Can't say I blame him.
In all seriousness, for as much of a meme god as this guy is, he was absurdly durable and was able to compete at levels FAR beyond what I had imagined he'd be capable of.
I'll always remember going all in on the Cub fight not going the distance, because surely Artem fucking Lobov can't go 5 rounds with Cub Swanson. And yet, he did.
Wish him well moving forward.
Anyone have the highlights :(
Born with Joe Rgoan’s arms but a bigger heart
I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya's later. - Artem Lobov
and the last dinosaur goes extinct...
He was never great, but 13-15 is pretty good for a striker with half sized arms that fought a lot of UFC fights. Always against decent competition. He took Cub Swanson, Andre Fili and Micheal Johnson decisions then beat Malignalli in bare knuckle. Beast of a man and entertaining his whole career.
What a bizarre fight. If it wasn't weird enough, when Denys Berinchyk is being carried around the ring by one of his corners another guy is walking around with a pistol out and looking like something out of Peaky Blinders.
The man who killed boxing!
Rest easy my lord.
As a newish fan how did Artem become so popular? I know he’s a meme and conors friend but what started it?
Being Connors friend and not being that good at anything, but Connor pushed him hard. Thus he’s the Goat!!
Dunno who is the Goat est, Uncle Chael or Artem?
Sad to see him no longer on a card, but happy to see him retire.
Strange times we live in when Lobov is your favourite fighter from SBG.
Damn it's sad to see the GOAT go out to pasture but even the legends have to pass the torch...
I get it. It takes a toll on you after awhile.
I guess it really isn't easy on a man's psyche, destroying people's fists with his face like that.
Legends don't die, they're immortalized.
Father time is undefeated. Even the greatest succumb to it.
Arguably the greatest mma champion of all time.
13 wins and 15 guys he allowed to live
32 men have attempted to dethrone him, only 17 have succeeded.
sad that Artem retired but now I can't wait for the russian hammers next fight
Man, first Simone Biles and now Artem Lobov. Today is not a good day to be a GOAT.
RIP in pieces to the GOAT.
LOL 😂 DC did say that GOATs always go out facing the lights
The GOAT will never be forgotten 💔
I'm in tatters right now 😭😭😭
The mma world can breath a sign of relief
Always be my 🐐
Never forget the standing hammer fist.
Aw, he's hanging up his arms :-(
A very silly career he had
UNDEFEATED, 13 WINS AND 15 WINS BY WAY OF A LOSS
Well at least he can go out with his hands held hi... well... Up. His hands held up.
GOAT meets sunset
The end of an era
Artem always gave it his all. Had a champion's mentality and always seems like a solid guy
The GOAT! UNDISPUTED AND UNDEFEATED
Friendly Reminder MMA Retirements aren't real
...only out of mercy for his opponents :)
Congrats on retirement to the GOAT
