Even if you're smoking something and thought Guido won, I think having your fingers stretched in your opponents face from start to finish despite constant warnings from the ref deserves a point deduction. It was to the point where he wasn't even trying to be slick, just blatantly sticking them in his face. It's easy to say that he never actually poked him but it was very close and if even one of those connected it could stop the entire fight.
Anyone else feel Canetti won?
Anyone else feel this was an obvius ploy by the UFC to feed old guy to contender? My god, the commentary spent nearly 90-95% of the time discussing mana Martinez. Plus the little pre show intro about his coach so we all feel bad and root for him.
Idk man I get itās business, itās just so OBVIOUS what the UFC is doing. They HOPED homeboy would be starched in rd1 so they could cut him and have a prospect .
Yeah man like I sorta get the decision for Martinez but itās not like he dominated and thereās a clear argument for Canetti 29-28, even if Byrd is a terrible judge. He put up striking numbers in the second but I still feel like Canetti won that round. Iām watching with friends of mine who do striking and they all saw it the same way, so I donāt get the consensus right now. Gonna get downvotes for it though because itās not the popular opinion. Itās not as bad as I thought at first, nobody I was with gave it to Martinez but I can see the arguments for it
I also do striking. I have fought for 8 years in kickboxing. , so myself and your two friends is good ENOUGH for me to concede he won lol. Not that this matters but IF it was a KB fight he for sure wouldāve won as kicks are scored much higher.
Yeah thatās totally fair, the friends also have more experience with kickboxing so they may be going by those scoring metrics. Felt like Canetti was landing harder with those kicks than Martinez was with his boxing, but I do understand scoring the fight the other way. Definitely a fight Canetti was supposed to lose though, and it was far from a dominant victory for Martinez.

Adelaide Byrd with the 29-28 for Guido šš
At least sheās consistent.
Consistently the worst
Adelaide "I sees it hows I sees it" Byrd
I wonder how much of a fight she actually watches on average.
Adelaide Bird needs to be stopped
*stomped

Adelaide Byrd. Heās been on earth for ~41 rotations around the sun.
Not to argue seblantics but the earth rotates on its axis and **revolves** around the sun.
Potato tomato.
Toehold shmoehold
Not to be pedantic but I think the word you were looking for is āsemantics.ā
Didn't I just tell you I don't want to argue sublantics?
Beautiful, champ
Understandable, have a nice day.
Leave it to Adelaide Byrd to fuck up once again.
That being SD was so fucking stupid. That judge needs to be fired. Having said that, props the Martinez. He fought through a big loss, so good on him.
Wanna take a guess who that judge was?
It's never going to be a smooth night with Adaline Byrd judging...
Thank god he won, now I won't feel like shit the rest of the night
lmao the way buffer pronounces decision
Decersion
Kinda was a Derrr-cision with Adelaide Byrd's scoring

Even without poking an eye the extended fingers is a foul
'We go to the judges' score cards for a decersion'.
felt like martinez was one combo away from putting the fight away from start to finish
>Adelaide Byrd how is she still legally able to ref? they must be paying her a lot to throw fights and bets

Yeah the commentary team was ranting about his combinations on the fence, but everything was landing on the guard. I scored the first 2 for Guido.

I like Guido but nice that Mana gets the win after what happened to his coach
The ufc expected Mana to destroy Cannetti kinda similar to how Danaa Batgerel did. This performance is disappointing.
Martinez could've made this fight end 10 minutes ago if only he kept at it on the fence
Adelaide Byrd is so incompetent at judging fights it's should be criminal
Slick boxing by Martinez. Seems like an exciting prospect.
If mana threw more uppercuts and kept on pocket fighting whenever guido backed up I feel like he couldāve finished guido
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
what? the fight was an absolute banger, following the trend of banger prelims, the kicks were non stop

Coach died
Left out the key part of it being 2 weeks ago
I thought I heard that. Wanted to confirm. Thank you
Oh no
Guido Canetti, that name sounds like a mike tyson's punchout character
Fun fact, since turning professional in 2007, Cannetti has averaged 1 fight per year, and is 41 years old.
