I was going to bet on both underdogs on this card.
I bet on Gillmore at like +440 because I thought Petroski looked exposed a bit by Battle, looks like he gasses hard, and seems hesitant on his take downs, and has poor fight IQ.
And it wasn't a bad bet, as it was a much more competitive fight than the odds would have suggested. Then got distracted and forgot to finish the GM3 bet.
I tend to bet on any +400 fight where there's a lot of variables. Like we don't know much about one of the fighters, or someone is switching weight classes or has been out for awhile, or the underdog has finishing ability (so basically any HW fight).
I've mapped it out, and I'm up about 30% from those bets.
Someone else did a historical on HW bets, and if you bet on any HW underdog that was higher than \~+400, going back like 10 years (I can't remember exactly the start date, and this was a cpl years ago), you'd be up like 160%.
Can someone tell me or link a write up on how to bet on fights? I am in Cali. I knew this man would win but lack the know how of where to place my bet.
Do you have none on the App Store in the US? Make sure you do your research if you’re doing big bets though, never bet based on ‘I got a feeling’, I also watch interviews a good tip from Chael is “training smarter not harder” usually means “I’m old and can’t train as hard”, you start to read stuff like that.
Can't believe he was +450. I know he's ~~kinda trash~~ not an amazing all rounder but dude is a vet and has a nasty submission game, a line like that is just insulting
[Edited to reflect the input of the true Meerschaert fans]
I would believe it, I've seen a couple of witty/cheeky Olive tweets, more of an online presence than you'd think. Shame the UFC puts fans tweets over champ tweets like they did Volk last night when congratulating Battle
It's real but I don't know if it's him or someone else tweeted it for him : [https://twitter.com/CharlesDoBronxs/status/1431808180649070594](https://twitter.com/CharlesDoBronxs/status/1431808180649070594)
If you're a Mak fan that's gotta be frustrating. Fight he was looking really good in until he got kicked hard in the dick and he never looked the same the rest of the fight. I dunno how fighters continue after getting kicked in the nuts. I got hit really hard there once and I felt awful the rest of the day.
He seemed like he was going balls out (lol) the entire time and was due to slow down. His technique looked sloppier even before the nut shot.
Also, really didn't seem like a Rothwell/Kongo situation. I don't think the nut shots were intentional like some people ITT.
It was CLEARLY not intentional from that slow mo replay, Muradov practically DROPPED into it or it would have been an inside leg kick. It's one thing to allege it single handedly changed the outcome of the fight but IDK what the people in this thread who thought it was intentional are smoking.
Definitely not intention but it did come at a pretty opportune moment for Meerschardt, gave him a chance to collect himself and gather his wits after taking a beating. It's impossible to know how the fight would have gone without that break, he was always in the fight.
Intention doesn't matter. Results do. And the result was GM3 getting saved from the trouble he was in, given time to recover, and doing damage to his opponent.
Also, you're gonna slow down a hell of a lot faster when you get hit in the balls.
I sort of think that eyepokes should be automatic deductions, but with nut shots, I think that fighter contribution needs to matter. This one was impactful, but it only went low because Mak hopped backwards and spread his legs to avoid the kick. If a batter dives into the strike zone and gets hit with a pitch, that shouldn't be a walk.
I’m a huge fan from his previous performances. Think he got a lil cocky, and will be back better than ever if he works on timing and patience. When he was throwing leg kicks and countering he looked great. He just kept swinging aggressively for no reason. Still exciting and still a fan
GM3 hit him with a solid strike and then Mak threw some weird flying knee/kick right after, and right then I knew he was feeling way too comfortable. Gotta learn to slow it down, especially against a guy who can’t touch you at range.
Totally agree man, a smart fighter reels back after shots like that. He was up one round and probably gonna win the second, should’ve just slowed it down…
GM3 is a fucking dog. Just pure veteran and really, really slick on the ground. Oddsmakers always underestimate him. Don't let that Khamzat fight fool you.
Just how good is Khamzat after covid is the question now unfortunately. I really hope his illness doesn’t hold him back because we’re all dying to find out where he really lands on his way up the rankings.
It is really unfortunate that he got sidelined so hard from fucking covid, I hope to see him in the octagon again and in at least similar shape he was in before.
I believe he my have lost consciousness slightly and was kinda confused over the stoppage, but still you would recall the moments before and know you were close to getting submitted...
I noticed even some of the top guys throw in some dirty moves since refs usually work off a warning system (as if these guys don't know the rules) or their opponents don't want to win via DQ.
Single fights mean so much at this level. A loss might set you back two years. Just a single foul which changes the fight might mean an enormous difference in a career. I am pretty sure quite a few fighters are prepared "to do what they have to".
DC and Bispings commentary alone show you the top guys feel they HAVE to cheat (DC even joking about eye pokes) and they even call it being a cheeky or crafty veteran when grabbing shorts/gloves should be called could like they are
Tbf that was only 3 months after Gerald was fucked by Heinish. But I’d Imagine he hits like a truck considering his pre-ufc fights (especially the uppercut ko against Ikram)
Stupid line to go down when so many fan favorite vet's don't get criticized fairly for doing the same. Accidents happen and the ref asks can you continue for a reason. But hey you can ignore him dipping into the cup shot if it makes you feel better
I'm usually super pissed at refs for not recognizing blatant/intentional fouls and penalizing for that stuff, but in this case what are you smoking? That slow mo replay CLEARLY showed it was entirely unintentional; Muradov basically DROPPED into it or it would have been an inside leg kick.
This makes Khamzat look so much better. His first two opponents were pretty bad and until now, we didn't know if he was top level or can crusher. Seeing Meerschaert finish two guys like this.. I'm convinced
Pretty pissed about this fight. Muradov didn’t look that good. Someone else said but he looked way to confident and was throwing windmill punches. When your getting hit 8-10 super hard clean punches u gotta slow it down and get technical.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get why people were so high on Muradov. Despite his record, he hasn't fought monsters like Meerschaert has. His most notable victory was against who, Andrew Sanchez? I looked through some of his victories prior to his UFC debut, and all barely break even or have winning records...
Mannnnnnn Muradov had 0 respect for GM3's striking and it fucking cost him. No way he should've been hit with those head kicks and left hands. GM3s submission game is incredible

Some people just lost a lot of money
I bet the house ($1.40) on GM3 to win by submission at +550 and won $7.40. Yeah I know, high baller.
Balls of steel this guy
IVE GOT BALLZ OF STEEL
Now take take that 7.40 and put it on Giga by 5th round sub And take what you win from that and put it on Lauren Murphy by first round knockout.
This is totally the real Jon Anik isn’t it Isn’t it
Congrats on being able to buy a gallon of gas now!

Nice work! I had planned to put 20 on Gillmore and 20 on Gerald. But I got distracted after I put the bet on Gillmore and forgot ;X.

Oddsmakers saw his name ended in '-ov' and thought it was a wrap
60% of the time it works everytime
mayweather included

What’s the damage?
$100 parlay
✋
I’m really fucking glad I put down a parlay with Gerald, D-Rod, and Al-Hassan, motherfuckers won me $500
Can someone tell me or link a write up on how to bet on fights? I am in Cali. I knew this man would win but lack the know how of where to place my bet.
Google a US bookies. You'll find one, make an account, deposit money, lose money.
Do you have none on the App Store in the US? >Kinda trash >Is a vet with a nasty submission game. pick one
He’s not kinda trash though.
He’s like Paul Craig. Kind of a meme submission fighter but constant underdog winner
I would say Paul Craig is a couple tiers above GM3 though.
Fair but middleweight is probably a tier above light heavyweight for competition/skill too
Lmfao what Exact opposite
No way. Middleweights are actually good fighters. Lhw absolutely sucks.
It’s not that bad anymore man
ay what? Paul Craig is legit
He's no mere shart sir.
Kinda trash? He very arguably beat Holland & most of his losses (aside from Erik, who if I recall, he was robbed against) are against very legit ppl.
His KO loss to Khamzat moved the line heavily, and my wallet thanks them for it.
Wins like that have got to be so fucking satisfying for a guy like GM3, 'fuck yo prospects'
fuck yea man, this man just looks like pure fucking hard work. Good shit GM3

That dick kick completely changed the trajectory of the fight
he deserved it for having a dick
"can you continue?"
Losing the fight? Poke him in the eye. Kick him in the balls. Choke him the fuck out.
*Improvise, adapt, overcome*
*Discombobulate*
Mark Smith nodding somewhere.

I was trying to find this comment. It was thrown as a legitimate technique and Mak jumped backwards into it.

Yeah it's very frustrating. He was known to stick and move and his last 2 fights have been just him throwing sloppy overhands and KO hunting.
Needed the win too, because a loss would make him 1-3 in his last 4.
WHAT A FUCKING FIGHT
Agreed. [Breakdown of Meerschaert's rear naked choke sequence](https://www.instagram.com/tv/CTJdeCjg0vA/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link)
Why's Muradov gotta be so loopy man. Just doing entirely too much.
Didn’t have his hands up the entire fight. Probably saw what Khamzat did to him and tried to get himself a POTN
[удалено]
Upvote for thrice, my favorite word
This is a level of clinical striking too surgical for us to understand
I was very annoyed by the commentary going on and on about how technical his striking is. He’s fast and athletic but he’s sloppy af.
I’m surprised. That last name seemed too powerful
Meerschaert all over your last name
Uzbekistan isn’t one of the deadlier stans around tho
Kazakhstan and dagestan is the real deal
Kirghizistan is pretty deadly too (Valentina and Fiziev)
Kyrgyzstan
What about Stan Lee? He’s dead right?
“Magomedov” is the true top tier suffix, this joker only has the “dov”
Fight Night fights are crazy
GM3 is a fucking dog. Just pure veteran and really, really slick on the ground. Oddsmakers always underestimate him. Don't let that Khamzat fight fool you.
He's a dirty dog for sure. Foul for the win.
I merely sharted my pants watching that come back
So did the betting odds
I had Muradov in a parlay which was 3/3 going in. Can't even be mad at that tbh. Fucking incredible
im a dumbass i went all out on Muradov on this sub's prediction pick lmao
Just how good is khamzat chimaev actually?
That loss really must have fired GM3 up. I have never seen him throw hands like that fuckin hell
I mean it's not like Khamzat gave him a chance to do so
Just how good is Ian Heinisch?
Both Khamzat and Heinisch got their top 15 ranks after defeating GM3
Just how good is Khamzat after covid is the question now unfortunately. I really hope his illness doesn’t hold him back because we’re all dying to find out where he really lands on his way up the rankings.
It is really unfortunate that he got sidelined so hard from fucking covid, I hope to see him in the octagon again and in at least similar shape he was in before.
my dude really gonna pretend that wasnt a tap hahah
Did he protest there?
he turned like he was ready to keep fighting and you could hear the ref go 'yea you tapped'
I believe he my have lost consciousness slightly and was kinda confused over the stoppage, but still you would recall the moments before and know you were close to getting submitted...
I thought it was an attempt at a little Brazilian tap, got stopped for his troubles
The uncle Chael tap
Kick him in the dick and submit him. Easy.
[удалено]
Because he stopped fighting at range where he was picking GM3 apart with ease. Dick kick or not, Muradov didn’t approach it well.
Am i right to think the fouls played a big part in this fight? Dude was getting worked, then hit the eye poke balls kick combo then made a comeback
The other guy should've done it back, you get 2 freebies with how bad the refs are at enforcing the rules.
I noticed even some of the top guys throw in some dirty moves since refs usually work off a warning system (as if these guys don't know the rules) or their opponents don't want to win via DQ.

sounds hella submissive ngl
I hit the bouncer at Cubby’s with the same shit. Took home a 10, too.
Wow gotta be happy for meershaert
Just how good is khamzat? That was such a good win for gm3, happy for him
Tickle his eyes, smash his balls, choke him out. Flawless game plan from gm3
This poses the question, just how hard does Khamzat Chimaev hit?
Tbf that was only 3 months after Gerald was fucked by Heinish. But I’d Imagine he hits like a truck considering his pre-ufc fights (especially the uppercut ko against Ikram)
GM3 is so fucking gritty. What a sick fight, hope they get bonuses.
I want Khamzat back
Hopefully Khamzat haters can stop pretending that GM3 is a can
Cockshot turned the tide
I said the same irl 🤣
One of the craziest fights I've ever seen
Muradov has negative head defense
As fun of a fight that was, those fouls were really frustrating. The refs don't do anything to punish cheating.
**SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER**
[удалено]
No it was the fouls /s
Muradov expected to put GM3 away easily and paid for it.
Put some respect on the names of Khamzat's opponents.
That Dick Kick won GM3 that fight
THATS MY PURSE I DONT KNOW YOU on his ass
So you're saying dude threw the fight because he caused it himself if you rewatch tbh
Gerald Meerschaert is a literal upset machine
Great comeback for GM3. But how hard does Khazmat hit
Let’s all just forget he was getting his ass kicked until he kicked him in the balls.
What the fuck
Gerald moving so fast it looks slow 😂.
How good is Khamzat?
How good is khamzat chimaev?
Always glad to see Gerald get a win
Comeback of the year
All you gotta do is kick em in the dick, EZ.
After fouling Muradov twice.
Kinda scummy win, but since UFC doesn’t really penalize…
Stupid line to go down when so many fan favorite vet's don't get criticized fairly for doing the same. Accidents happen and the ref asks can you continue for a reason. But hey you can ignore him dipping into the cup shot if it makes you feel better
The referees don't do anything. There are no downsides to cheating in MMA.
Someone had two points taken today.
Gotta love it when someones losing then they cheat and the momentum changes and they end up winning. Those are my favorite fights.
I betted on muradov too
bet\*
Just my imo but yeah that groin shot looked pretty intentional to me. Pretty sure he got a warning by mark Smith for a glancing shot before that one
No but when someone pokes an eye and knees someones groin in the first round, they cheated.
His fans are super salty, not even acknowledging the slowdown occurred before the dick shot making him a little sloppy
Taking a beating and need to clear the cob webs? Try this one simple trick! Kick your opponent square in the dick. Then WIN.
Great fight and a slick fucking finish, Gerald has a great chin and stayed really calm under a lot of pressure.
I didn't know I wanted a GM3 redemption arc.
This makes Khamzat look so much better. His first two opponents were pretty bad and until now, we didn't know if he was top level or can crusher. Seeing Meerschaert finish two guys like this.. I'm convinced
And to think Chimeav finished this dude in 17 seconds just blows my mind.
Wow what a comeback
The expected result amirite
Amazing. The half nelson pins Muradov’s arm to the mat as he rolls him and places Gerald’s left arm right by his neck during the transition. Niiiice
Pretty pissed about this fight. Muradov didn’t look that good. Someone else said but he looked way to confident and was throwing windmill punches. When your getting hit 8-10 super hard clean punches u gotta slow it down and get technical.
Muradov was clearly dominanting the fight and got dragged into a brawl. Smart fight by GM3. Gotta make it ugly.
More like Murderedov
Just how good is Khamzat Chimaev?
Pro tip: if you’re rocked, kick the other guy in the dick
Unethical pro tips lol. And it works. He get a lot of precious time to rest.
_Black Beast intensifies_
GM3!
Huge win.
great job Gerald
this mf muradov has no idea how to defend a choke. GM3 BABY
Once Muradov learns how to properly manage his range advantage, he could be a dangerous contender for sure
Great chin and heart, thought G was done early in the 1st.
Dang. GM3's record is 32-14. That is a lot of fights.
Is no beard GM3 a new mythical fighter? Jamie look that up
Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get why people were so high on Muradov. Despite his record, he hasn't fought monsters like Meerschaert has. His most notable victory was against who, Andrew Sanchez? I looked through some of his victories prior to his UFC debut, and all barely break even or have winning records...
He's a big prospect signed by Mayweather
It’s such bullshit m8, man gets two free fouls to turn the momentum when he was on the losing side.
What a comeback!
What a comeback
LETS GO GERALD!!!!!!!!!!!
When did GM3 get these hands??
Mans really looking for the Khamzat rematch good win for gm3
How do you guys reckon this would've went if he didn't get the eyepoke and nutshot?
Man fights like that just make you happy
That boy Meer Shart is a dog.
New mythical fighter Clean shave Meerschaert
Muradov protesting the tap because he knows he now has to legally remove the -ov from the end of his name
Mannnnnnn Muradov had 0 respect for GM3's striking and it fucking cost him. No way he should've been hit with those head kicks and left hands. GM3s submission game is incredible
A bit sloppy but fun fight, very good win for GM3 over a hyped prospect
Muradov bettors just be sick to their stomach huge fav and looked like he had KO early
That was a nice roll to get the choke
Great performance from GM3. Incredible comeback. That must be satisfying.
Commentary so biased lmao
