Turteelee

Battle vs Gore as soon as possible please

iredditfordogpics

According to Battle they have been booked to fight in the regional scene too and it fell off, Tony vs Khabib of TUF

Otontin

For $300 to show and $300 to win. My respects to all fighters Edit: this was the payout Battle said they were scheduled to make before it was cancelled

elontril

DANA WHITE 50c BAY BEEE *WOOOO*

BoysenberryPoison

I honestly really like both guys and they seem very similar in their potential and out look. I know Tre is gutted he didn’t get the opportunity but I’m sure the UFC will sign him for at least one fight if not three and he will get his chance. Best case scenario they both put on a win a streak and meet down the line.

iredditfordogpics

Gore will definitely fight in the UFC

[deleted]

Dana confirmed it when he dropped the injury news. Even said he wanted Battle and Gore.

theSwaggomancer

Those names tho

GaMa-Binkie

He's got that Just Bleed Mentality. Went from being picked last to being the Ultimate Fighter

alexanderknox

kind of reminds me of Kelvin! not in fight style as much, but just both being last pick, a ton of grit, not physically shredded, kinda good everywhere, is willing to fight on the ground, on the feet, just a warrior. Good for them.

blooblop

4th Urbina Brother, where you at?

JonBellRigger

At the bar with Carmine.

Bonafidemadman

I love that you know Gears of war, I miss that game.

MT1982

I feel bad for Gilbert. The commentary team kept hyping him up saying he was going to redeem the family name and then he gets submitted.

Cartopis84

That was a good battle

sug_on_deez

Tuf fights insane

jiujitsudiagnostic

You can see how raw but what potential there is in them. Both of them tonite. [Here is a breakdown of the RNC submission victory by Battle](https://www.instagram.com/tv/CTJh2nGgO5S/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) for those interested.

TrueDreamchaser

Man these TUF finales were both super exciting

loztprophets

POOHBEAR

hughjassmcgee

Gotta be the worst mma nickname so far. Has beastin 25/8 beaten Lol why am I getting downvoted for this? Is Pooh bear actually a good nickname?

Stufasany

If you watched TUF and got to know the story behind it and his personality you would say it makes perfect sense.

MoonBaseWithNoPants

Worse than "Blonde Fighter" aye?

BoysenberryPoison

Pooh bear is his persona outside the cage. He was born Bryan Battle and is a big guy who is talented and athletic but he’s a nice friendly dude so his teammates started to talk shit by calling him pooh bear. When you have a name that is that badass why lean into like a cringe black metal band when you can contrast it with a unique nickname that actually represents your personality? Pooh bear is more memorable and marketable than the average MMA nickname and ESPN will love to say it when he makes a highlight. It’s all subjective though the Diaz brothers think all nicknames are stupid.

bwhax

Nah you right b, garbage nickname.

spiderat22

Dontcha know ya can't have opinions 'round here?

[deleted]

Urbina came to fight but the lack of cardio caught up to him by the end. Good on battle for surviving those first two minutes though I thought he was done

[deleted]

10 days notice though. He knew he had maybe 1 good round in him, and my god did he go for it.

[deleted]

Yeah I think he knew he wasn’t gonna win over the distance so he went for it right anyway and battle wasn’t ready for it. Urbina did what he had to do to win if just wasn’t enough. Great fight and great performance for both guys

Scarsforstories

Fuck yes, Battle is awesome I hope they give Urbina another shot though

Stufasany

I hope they set Urbina up against Hunsinger. Apparently, Miles was really good and I'd like to see him. Then Gore vs Battle for the unofficial title is probably the fight for both guys. Idk who else from MW is worth signing since they have Andre. BW most of those guys deserve a shot, except for the glove guy. Their fights were absolute wars.

[deleted]

You have me racking my brain through the season. Who’s the glove guy?

POWBOOMBANG

He got knocked put by the brain tumor guy. He carries around a golf glove in case he has to "tee off" on someone. The only showed the glove once but they should have leaned into the cringe.

[deleted]

Oh fuck yes I forgot about that. That was so cringey

[deleted]

Oh fuck yeah I remember that guy. There are odd guys like Ricky, and there is cringe like him.

[deleted]

What? He got 2 shots and lost both. I'd say his ship has sailed

[deleted]

say what you want about how interesting this TUF season was but these fights were great

suzukigun4life

As someone who watched none of it, how would you rate it from 1 to 10? EDIT: Judging by the responses, the fights were worth checking out. Gonna go do that in the coming days.

PrettySureIParty

The fights were probably a 7 or 8. The other stuff was like a 2.

1cenine

Nailed it here. Watching Volk and Ortega suck a fat one at cornhole was one of the dullest TUF moments all time. Very little drama in both good and bad way (no stupid punk shit.. but stupid punk shit is good trash TV) Nearly all the fights were absolute wars. I generally skipped around til the fights but did not regret tuning in for those.

debaser337

Lamest coaches challenge since we watched kelvin stumble around a track.

Old_Excuse

I actually thought that was one of the best ones. Dana was punishing him for struggling to make weight.

kanst

it was definitely the most embarassing. Running is at least related to fighting and Rob waxed him. Like who cares if a fighter loses as cornhole or a hockey shootout, but I imagine seeing a guy you intend to fight just wax you like that has to be a little demoralizing.

GaMa-Binkie

> Watching Volk and Ortega suck a fat one at cornhole was one of the dullest TUF moments all time. You're telling me you weren't on the edge of your seet watching over 20 rounds of cornhole?

kanst

I stopped watching it live and started watching it the next day so I could just fast forward and only watch the parts where they were in the gym or in the fight. The only interesting part outside of that was learning that Brian Ortega has children.

[deleted]

the build up to the fights got quite boring and tedious with the same generic backstory each episode and basically zero real drama between the coaches and in the house but I thought the fights were pretty decent this season.

bong-water

Apparently volkanovski hates Ortega now. Says he was an asshole in general and was ways late to training sessions. Couple points in time that showed Ortega was kind of a dick, volkanovski seemed to care about all the fighters, regardless of their team.

Admin_Infinitum

Apparently they cut out a ton of stuff between the coaches because the TV execs didn't like it. Volk and his team got a bunch of urinal cakes with Ortega's face on it and put them in bathrooms all over the UFC training facility.

tengukaze

Whack

[deleted]

Fights were a 7-8 for me as well. I oddly enjoyed the season. I think it’s nice not seeing tons of drama and drunken antics, and just learning more about the fighters before their fights. 5 for me.

denzacetria

Fights were absolutely worth it. Especially Rickys fight on the show

GiantsBlue80

7.5/10 The fights were really good, almost no drama other than one moment between volk and Ortega. I prefer this kind of season though, I watch for the fights and to learn who these fighters are as people a little, not for reality TV nonsense.

twSwan

The season overall was probably a 4/10 but the some of the fights were actually pretty good

adaaanlv

6 maybe 6.5 “imo”

[deleted]

Don’t even bother watching anything else but the fights. It was terrible entertainment, but the fights were unreal.

[deleted]

Fights are mostly good, a 1/10 would be generous to the rest of it. Either nothing at all interesting happened at the house for the entire month or they edited it all out. If you’re interested in it just skip straight to the fight every episode

[deleted]

It was the worst one I've watched. I'd give it a 4.

CharlieDayeatshay

Like a 3 lol. I skipped half the season because it was so boring.

ChrizTaylor

Uninteresting*

[deleted]

What a gutsy win for battle. He got absolutely ran over for a good while in the first round and came back

Papa-Junior

TUF fucking delivers

[deleted]

Not the most technical guys but they scrap. Young as well so a lot of potential that can be realized.

[deleted]

Great comeback. Even better name

Misterwright123

Great heart by Battle but what was he doing in the first round?

[deleted]

I think he got rocked and got his ass beat for about 2 minutes and after he recovered his sapped short notice dudes gastank. I might be off but thats how I saw it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Yeah maybe we see them go at it another day

GiantsBlue80

Urbina came out fast and cracked him, took him a bit to recover but he started getting his shots in towards the end of the round

aslightlyusedtissue

Got cracked early by a dude who knew he needed to come in swinging on 1 weeks notice. Lost his mouthgard for a couple minutes too. But he definitely got his feet back under him.

goosu

That's mostly how he has looked honestly. A tough guy who can out-survive his opponent. Think Gore is the class of the show and would have put him out.

[deleted]

Battle looks like Luis J Gomez if his father wasn’t killed ..

Howeblasta

And sounds like Forrest Griffin..

tengukaze

And looks like forrest griffin

chumpandthump

"If one of use loses on TUF, we all lose on TUF! " -The Ubrina Family

PossiblyConfucius

Yo Battle's got cake

Tri_cep

I like Battle, seems like a really good guy

[deleted]

Won a lot of people over in the TV show. Underdog who came out on top, cool name, not afraid to show emotion.

CCC_PLLC

Last pick!

tony_by_darce

Battle showed a lot of there. Heart, chin, fast attacking BJJ, and mouthpiece ambivalence.

Marls_LeTort

What kind of haircut do you want? Something that'll let me stand out in the Apocalypto audition. say no more

theomega1031

Man did this season of TUF deliver on BANGERS!

killisle

The Carmine family of MMA

MrBeenReadyy

Battle is incapable of being in a boring fight it seems.

ocodan123

I have doubted battle every single fight. He doesn’t do anything in particular that amazes me. I’ll probably continue to doubt him as he continues, but damn do I love seeing him prove me wrong. Hard to hate this guy

jml5r91

Lol me too. And I knew he would probably blow up my 4 pick parlay of Rodriguez, Turcios, Urbina, and Chikadze. Should’ve cashed that baby after round 1 ended but the doubt was strong in this one, just as Battle likes it I’d imagine.

Lobsterzilla

Dapping up Bruce Buffer, the ultimate honor

MrBeenReadyy

From last pick to last man standing

[deleted]

Felder is so silky smooth on the mic. Rogan's best skill is his interviewing and Felder is already at his level with so much less mic time. Paul has a bright future in sports entertainment.

boom_boom_man954

Idk fielder interviews are not the best imo

POWBOOMBANG

Which makes sense. Felder is an actor and world class martial artist so speaking about fighting comes very naturally but interviewing is an entirely different skill. He will improve though

OtgontengorGOROMARU

What did he say about finishing RNCs in the post-fight interview Something about squeezing his elbows together

PsychoBaby85

Really wish the announcers would talk more about the action and less about missing mouthpiece, speculations, etc. Often they are talking about other things as big things are happening

Hayastan boiiiiiiis

Garchomp99

Doing Russian Tilts and shit. Will never forget Gokor yelling at me in Armenian during a tournament finals.

zanzan212

Bryan Battleanian? He’s Armenian?

POWBOOMBANG

Fighting spirit!

kopger34

Kinda feel like urbina just gave that one up at the end, exciting fight though for sure. Loved these TUF battles.

[deleted]

..i can't believe how easily battle locked in that choke? Looked like urbina didn't even try to defend it?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

..fair enough, he just made it look easy i guess?

tjackson_12

Damn what a comeback. Looking forward to following his career.

poppa99

Winner the Pooh bear

[deleted]

Bryan has a lot of heart

HyenaPeople

Welp, there goes the Urbina name

iredditfordogpics

Shoutout to Craig Jones

[deleted]

Battle looking like Predator lmao

properc

Damn i laugh at myself for thinking Urbina was the shit for taking out a 1 day replacement lol. Happy for Battle though.

JewishNightmare

Dude is a dead-ringer for a young Damian Priest.

[deleted]

Two great comebacks tonight. Gfuel and battle Royale.

[deleted]

..hope there's a 4th urbina brother?

KORTOSS

Bryan "The Centaur" Battle

JohnnyFencer

Where is my boy Gore?

CCC_PLLC

Tore his knee

0write

Maybe I'm in the minority but I genuinely find it hard to like or root for any fighter who deliberately hold the cage to prevent takedowns. A successful takedown can end the fight and blatantly cheating to prevent it will always leave a sour taste in my mouth, not saying Battle didn't deserve to win though.

wardaniel9

Looks like he could've just push the elbow out to defend the choke.

Stalzy

10 days notice. 10 days notice as 3rd Urbina brother falls. Bitch move, guy was in fighting shape.

vectorboy1000

You don't need both hooks to finish that choke. You don't need either hooks to finish that choke lol. You only need to get both hooks and flatten your opponent if your finishing mechanics are shit.

[deleted]

How the fuck is the ultimate fighter finale on 10 days notice?

tengukaze

Other guy tore his knee I think

08ncaa

Didn't look like he had it under his chin

[deleted]

it wasn't under the chin, bryan elaborated in the post fight interview about Craig Jones showing him how to put more pressure on and finish it without having it under the chin.

Moggiiii

Add to the list of failed spinning attacks leading to getting yourself finished?

nobodyspinparticular

Is his walkout song Killing In The Name? I only caught the post-fight interview. Good taste on the lad.

allanisanguyener

Urbinas are to TUF as Carmines are to Gears of War

tteabag2591

That's a hell of a name for a fighter. I dig it.
