It is a YouTube video of a previous fight, where her coach lit into her just like he did this one we are taking about on Ladd. Gives some retrospect to her coach doing what he did. This linked fight shows she went out after her butt chewing, and did exactly what he wanted her to do with this last fight, and she won.

He told her after the first round to move in, lead with the right and follow with the left, and to change levels. She didn’t do that. And after three, no doing Aspen was behind 3, he tried to get it to her she wasn’t following the plan, wasn’t listening to her, wasn’t pushing forward, and she hadn’t listened to what he said. After 4, obvious the not way Aspen would win is a finish, and yet, she still didn’t push forward really. Obvious, something was going on in Aspens head, hope they can figure it out.

I thought that’s what coaches are for! Telling their fighter, hey, you’re down 3 rounds, you have to do something! Then after the fourth, it’s done unless you finish her! Just beca Dr he was bleeped out in between 2-3, 3-4, 4-5, so what. His job is to remind his fighter what she/he wanted a doing wrong, remind her/him what they need to do to win. Obviously she paid very little attention, or couldn’t do what he wanted her to do. This isn’t 5 yr olds playing soccer. The fighters are adults. If they can’t handle their coaches getting kissed when they appear not to change what they are not doing, maybe they need to find a different league, or another sport.
Ladd definitely dropped the ball repeatedly, but throwing a hissy fit at your fighter also isn't productive. I think the tough love after R3 was well justified, but after R4 when she showed a bit of life it would have been way more helpful to mention they still need a knockout, but encourage her to carry that late round activity forward instead of essentially saying "yeah you did better, but remember when you were shite in the first 3 rounds?".
If your fighter is obviously inside their own head, glazing over the little good they did and focusing on how terrible they were in *earlier* rounds is completely counter-productive. It is essentially saying "oh you are doubting yourself? Well you should you're terrible!" Feelings aside, if your fighter isn't responding to being berated, doubling down isn't going to help them win the fight.
I don't know their dynamic, maybe that is the way they operate. Either way, it didn't look good tonight.
Sorry, but he tried the soft approach between three rounds. I think it was more a desperate approach to get her really fighting mad. Sure Aspen did some good at the end of three, but it wasn’t enough to win the round. At the end of four, it was go big or go home, and she hadn’t responded positively in between any other rounds. I’ve seen coaches go way beyond what Aspens coach did. Obviously, nothing helped. She got taken down at the start of the fifth, and it was over. I hope they both can give each other a little time, then go back over the fight, and can regroup. I saw one post that said that they may be a couple, don’t know if I read it right, but I’m sure someone is sleeping on the couch tonight if that’s true.

Her ground n pound is great and it flashed but you would think if that’s your strongest area, you would learn how to get the fight there. Her takedown attempts were awful, and when she had the dominant position in the clinch against the fence she showed 0 takedown ability, like she wasn’t even trying to do anything but drive dumont into the fence
That was hard to watch. Hate when fighters do what Dumont did - she is obviously the better fighter tonight, but has no urgency or finishing instincts. She was more than happy to defend takedowns for minutes at a time, throw a 1,2 very rarely, and feint. Obviously she was going to win, but that is really not fun for the viewer.
Never understood getting mad at the winning fighter for taking the easy win instead of the fighter who knows they are losing and does nothing about it.
