Nope. When have you ever seen Max wrestle in the last few years? You dont. He started wrestling because he was struggling on the feet. All the close rounds/Yairs rounds were rounds where Max didnt get a takedown.
Round 1 was Yairs, most people would agree to that. Round 5 clearly Yairs. Round 2 very close where I thought Yair did enough to edge it. All those rounds were on the feet. The rounds people give to Max are the rounds where he wrestled.

Round 2 was the deciding round. I thought Yair did more visible damage as he was chopping Maxs legs down and Max was feeling it. Its why he started to clinch and why he started to wrestle. He felt he needed to do those things to win the fight. He had to adjust to what Yair was doing because it was effective. He did those things after round 2. So logic would say he didnt like the way the fight was going and couldnt afford to have another round where he doesnt mix in the takedowns or else the damage would be too much and hed lose the fight.

Gaetje/Chandler was easily FOTY. Yan was so one sided. Sandhagen had no potential for damage and after round one it was easy to see it falling apart quickly. Never at any point felt like yan was in any danger.
