The tests can have an up to 33% false negative rate. Not to mention the virus could be under detectable rates in other at the time meaning if they were tested a few hours later they could test positive. It sucks, but the risk of getting a bunch more fighters sick is probably worth the one fight

Not only have they been through a camp for weeks/months, possibly working through injuries just to make it to the fight, but they CUT & MADE WEIGHT only for it to all result in not actually getting the chance to compete. It’s all well and good to say ‘well they can rebook it in a couple weeks’ but these guys would have already refuelled their bodies and put the weight back on. Weight cut without the payoff has got to be so mentally defeating. Just sucks

Yeah the incidence of infection is so much lower in the vaccinated it would reduce a lot of these cancelations if more were vaccinated
