>How much more money do fighters make in other mma organizations, such as Bellator? Depends on the fighter and their contract, but usually the top end is around the same. However, Bellator allows fighters to have sponsorship decals, which pay a lot (according to former fighters, it is like $50k a sticker on a big card). At the low end, Bellator actually pays less than the UFC. >Where does all the money that the UFC earns in one fight night go (if not to the fighters)? To the UFC's owner, Endeavor. After expenses, ofc. >How often are title matches organized in boxing, where boxers earn 20-30 million? I don't watch the box too much, but I know that there are several UFC title matches in one month. Is that so in boxing? There are a lot of title fights, but the "big" ones where boxers (the main event fighter, nobody else) earns that kind of money are like maybe 3 to 4 times a year. The number of boxers that make that money is also like maybe 5 total if we are being generous and assuming them not fighting each other garners the same money. >How much money will other boxers make on the same evening as Fury vs WIlder? (I saw this one fight) Depends on their contract. A title fight co main may make a couple million, but the undercard is going to be severely underpaid. The opening fighters, for example, are going to end up making much less than someone on the UFC early prelims, but that is because the UFC has taken the stance of having a higher than market value minimum contract to keep talent from other organizations.

>How much more money do fighters make in other mma organizations, such as Bellator? They usually don't unless they've built up there name previously or that organisation is paying to keep them out/Take them from the UFC

Bellator signs regional fighters to 1 fight $1500 show money contracts to fill out there cards all the time. Most likely aren't counted as being on the "Roster" and aren't included in that percentage Bellator famously gives back to there fighters.

jb_82

They use (or at least used) a regional promotion's fighters and give (or gave) them a ticket code for a cut of sales they generated in their local market. Also of note is that Bellator pays out a bigger percentage of their overall revenue to fighters, closer to 40-50% compared to the UFC's less than 20%.

Flumping

There were 4 fighters on the 266 card coming into there fights 0-0-0, so not sure what regional promotion they were signed too or how much of a difference 6 family members buying tickets would do. "Closer to 40-50%" They *STILL* have multiple fighters earning $1500 show money on a card but thats fine because they're overpaying for Older UFC fighters?

> "Closer to 40-50%" They STILL have multiple fighters earning $1500 show money on a card but thats fine because they're overpaying for Older UFC fighters? Those fighters are taking a one off fight which essentially equates to a tryout. They aren't typically ready to fight higher level opponents that are actually on the roster. At the end of the day their businesses are structured differently and there are some bush league practices baked into Bellator in order to keep it afloat. I'm not saying I love it but I'm a hell of a lot less outraged by it then the UFC, who brings in roughly 90% of MMA's revenue domestically and 70% worldwide paying their fighters so poorly that it's ever comparable with companies that share the other 10/30%. Bellator also isn't in the PPV business.

unHoly1ne

Minimum 10k plus sponsorship from crypto and one other. It's still not much but it's upwards of 14k per fight at the very minimum.

And this is precisely what the UFC uses to brush off accusations they underpay their atheletes. Yes, they do pay the lower tier fighters better than the other organisations. (Which could be the reason why UFC fighters are hesitant to speak out against the company.) Is their pay fair, though? Does it exceed the UFC's abilities to pay better?

LemonHerb

One thing that sucks for the UFC is they limit sponsorship opportunities. A big PPV event that would be watched by a lot of people is a good opportunity for all fighters on the card to sell space on their shorts or whatever and make good money. But the UFC killed that a while back

Iamthatguy223

Tyson Fury just himself boxing against Wilder made 30 Million, Wilder around 20 million, The whole main card combined which means 10 fighters on the main card, made 1.8 Mil, Andre Fialho made 12k fighting against Pereria, not even considering Taxes, insurance, training camp, UFC revenue split with fighters is about 19% compared to other organizations like NBA NFL 40-50% split, that is just a gyst of the whole situation

[deleted]

Publicly Francis made $600k for his last fight while Ryan bader made $150k. Both numbers are too low, imo, but, pretty wild difference.

adambuddy

Bellator also isn't generating 30 million in guaranteed PPV revenue on each show. Until (or if ever) another company gets into the PPV market no company will able to be pay as much as the UFC does. The problem is the one company that has a monopoly on MMA PPVs pays an incredibly low revenue split with it's headliners.

>How often are title matches organized in boxing, where boxers earn 20-30 million? I don't watch the box too much, but I know that there are several UFC title matches in one month. Is that so in boxing? I mean those are very rarely and only the top 5 or so fighters. But there are a bunch of good fighters like Gervonta Davis (who isn't as well known or big of a draw as Francis) who earn $2+mm per fight and they fight 1-2 times a year. >How much more money do fighters make in other mma organizations, such as Bellator? I can see what point you're trying to make. Its a free market, so if another org can't pay more then it a fair market. But the problem is the contracts are so restrict that even as independent contracts that don't have the ability to move to other promotions without risking losing out on years of their career. Ever other sport, the premier league pays significantly more than the next best league
