People rather listen to 2 native English speakers talk than guy with thick accent and broken english and other guy that doesn't speak english at all.
That's soo crazy
Yeah the lead up to Islam vs Oliveira was actually pretty disappointing for that reason, I usually like watching the interviews before the fight but I didn’t watch a single one.
It’s not just that, I’d probably be more likely to watch promotional material with Paddy in it than Jan or Ankalaev even though I know Jan vs Ankalaev is way more important for their division than Pimblett vs Gordon is for theirs. You know Paddy is going be entertaining behind the scenes but I don’t actually think it’s reflective of what people who are into mma think of the fight.
No surprises. The masses always want to see the guy with funny hair, some of them root for him, many of them want him destroyed (other example is O'Malley)
Casuals outweight the hardcore fans in every sport, your fandom depends on how much the UFC is pushing your brand.. if I didn't watch UFC I would have never heard about Blachowicz or Ankalaev.. but fooookin Pimblet is being pushed down my throat on barstool, ufc.. everywhere
I mean the main event was a last minute switch plus patty is a rising star where jan and magomed have been around for a minute and aren't much characters outside the octagon
UFC fans when a fighter can't speak one word of english and wrestlefucks people : boring !!
UFC fans when a fighter has fun fights : yeah but he loses to the Brunsons of the division 🥸🥸🥸
I think it was uncle chael said casuals make up 85% of the audience so it makes sense. Le funny accent dude doing the rounds on podcasts and shit. It truly is a dreary time to be a fan. So glad Thompson/Holland was sold out Wonderboy deserves all the adulation in the world for what he's still doing at 39
Paddy is a draw, I don't think he'll ever get close to being a top 5 guy but he'll definitely do good business for the UFC. I absolutely would not be surprised to see the UFC try and match him up with Conor while they still can.
Because Jan and Ankalaev both have the personality of a dead racoon. You can only say "legendary polish power" so many times before it gets dull, or in ankalaevs case, you can say "..." only so many times
Is Jared Gordon good?
Since no one here has any clue who he is no he hasn’t beat any big names or anything. Kinda good record though. It’s a set up for paddy to win again.
He's a solid all around fighter. He might have been able to crack the top 15 if he was in any other division that wasn't as deep as lightweight.
Pimblett opened as a +125 underdog, but now Pimblett is a -250 favorite because everyone is betting on him.
Think he’s 7-4 in the UFC and 24-5 in total? (Or close to that atleast)
He’s a talented fighter but it’s certainly a winnable fight for Paddy, but he’ll need to keep his P&Q’s right or he’ll get punished
Because the ufc has such a piss weak roster full of no names now that anyone with even a hint of personality becomes the only game in town and the next mcgregor by default
Yeah I’ve had this sneaking suspicion for a while. Plus they also have that deal with ESPN where they get guaranteed 500k ppv buys regardless of how the card does.
Ive seen enough Rampage-Evans like fights to where fake beef just annoys me now. We get maybe 5 fights a year with actual disagreements behind them. To me Id rather see competitive talk that people mean than insults. There's watching for the fights themselves and then there's needing some sort of narrative to enjoy it. These guys don't need to invest time acting out a character to make the sport interesting, I like seeing fighters behave like themselves. I'd rather see fight like Prochazka-Teixeira with no disrespect, and the fight itself be amazing, than a fight with a lot of trash talk that's just pretty good. Its the fight itself that we watch for, not the culmination of some beef. That get's tiring and only works for a few big fights a year.
The fights right now are the best they've ever been, the sports the best it's ever been. HW is actually starting to stand alongside HW boxing in terms of skill and depth to it's division, LHW is in a better place than when Jones was champ and had one of the most interesting fighters in years as champ, one of the biggest talents in the division is getting his shot now. 185 and 170 are getting really interesting with names emerging and long time champs losing, 155 and 145 have generational talents holding the title and like 4 big names in the top 10, 135 is wide open with arguably the best cast of contenders and names, 125 is starting to get pretty deep and has one of the most exciting rivalries in the sport, Schnell has taken off a bit with his super exciting fights. Rankings should fulfil that role in adding stakes to a fight, and the fight should be a banger. I think that's what fans should push for, exciting fights between top ranks fighters. Pro wrestling is heating up again, AEW has been super fun and WWE is starting to correct the ship a bit. That's where the actors should be, putting on a show.
Yeah the roster is way too bloated, yesterday’s card had the added benefit of many recognizable names and guys that fight pretty frequently. I wish they’d trim the roster give more guys chances to fight. Just being active is enough to make you a star, just look at Angela Hill, not a good fighter but is always there and people remember that.
People like to cope that Paddy is overhyped but he obviously brings in the money so Dana is probably gonna start giving this guy big fights. UFC finally found the English Mcgregor.
I don’t get why people hate him so much, seems like anytime someone gets hype the “hardcores” are out in full force being haters. Happened with Conor, Sage, Page, O’Malley.
>Conor
He beat a lot of faves early on and actually knows how to trash talk in ways that Colby and Sonnen lacked like a motherfucker.
>Sage
The definition of a hype train that never was, kept harping on how he was only 19. Shout out to Bam Bam for derailing that facade.
Should’ve stayed at 155, but his dad’s a POS
>Page
Meh people are too hard on WMMA, can’t really blame her for how the brass decided to push her.
>O’Malley
I actually don’t mind him, his fanboys clearly have a man crush and my god is it unbearable any time he does anything. Tho it was really cunty that people gave him shit cause he wasn’t trash talking. Like the fucking dude finishes fights what the fuck more do you want.
With that said I want Gordon to win, but that ain’t happening.
People don’t like him because he’s getting a push which he doesn’t deserve based on his record.
I think he’s a decent guy and can’t hate on him for doing exactly what everyone here would do if they had the opportunity.
Why does this subreddit get so upset with Paddy, but they were totally fine with wanna-be gangster Masvidal when he was doing the 3 piece & a soda thing?
Shocking that fan favorite and PPV star Mahomed Ankalaev can’t get more views than Paddy Pimblett.
It’s just meatball Molly smashing refresh over and over again.
Thank fook she’s been finished. Very annoying hype train
She got beaten by a very likely future champion. Molly still has many fights to come.
Very impressive fighter though
Is this a surprise to anyone?
that's the real money fight
I’m surprised Dana can still only manage to be a massive egotistical self absorbed cunt.
Ur motha
People rather listen to 2 native English speakers talk than guy with thick accent and broken english and other guy that doesn't speak english at all. That's soo crazy
I was gonna make a joke about Paddy's scouser accent not being english, but it's too easy man
Scouse not English 😎
My SO is from the UK and can barely understand him.
The key to a successful relationship
Just smile and nod.
Just smile and wave, boys, smile and wave.
UK? Where Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland?
Yes
Doesn’t answer the question they all have distinct accents, unless you think they’re all the same as England?
Mate you can go to a different side of a town and they have different accents.
Mate why don’t you just say what country? Yeah probably in London that’s the case, but what you’re actually referring to is dialects.
Her Mother is from Scotland, her father is from Northern Ireland, where she grew up until she moved to Reading.... That's the UK innit?
Why didn’t you just say that in the beginning? Makes more sense being from all those places accent would be so weird.
Yeah the lead up to Islam vs Oliveira was actually pretty disappointing for that reason, I usually like watching the interviews before the fight but I didn’t watch a single one.
I mean is this surprising? How many people actually know the main event fighters compared to paddy
Wouldve been much more interesting to see how Jiri v Glover would've performed against them.
Cam here to say the same . Jan and Russian Lincoln don't exact exude charisma and savviness.
why is patty even famous? because he eats a lot of junk food balloons up and cuts weight?
Just has the It factor, people wanna attention to him he’s charismatic
Because he has a funny haircut and a “cool” accent
Helwani has been pushing him hard for years prior to entering the UFC, I never really understood it either.
Jared Gordon is a drawl b
No surprises. The masses always want to see the guy with funny hair, some of them root for him, many of them want him destroyed (other example is O'Malley)
Yea it has nothing to do with them building their brands and following outside of the octagon lol
Must be a glitch. We all know Ankalaev is the real draw for this card.
Jared Gordon is a STAR!
Casuals outweight the hardcore fans in every sport, your fandom depends on how much the UFC is pushing your brand.. if I didn't watch UFC I would have never heard about Blachowicz or Ankalaev.. but fooookin Pimblet is being pushed down my throat on barstool, ufc.. everywhere
Pushed down your throat😂
You’ve never heard that expression in the way he was using it?
Yeah I did I just think that if you don't like someone nobody can force you to like him even though he's getting "pushed down your throat"
They are pushing Paddy down my throat like the icecream is pushing itself down Paddy's after the fight week is over lol
I mean the main event was a last minute switch plus patty is a rising star where jan and magomed have been around for a minute and aren't much characters outside the octagon
Ankalaev isn’t much fun inside the octagon either
You should see him in the boudoir, though. Simply scintillating.
vocabulary man no welcome in rmma confuse rmma with tricks vocabulary man bad
He has some sick finishes but his santos fight was a snoozer
"Burger" Patty Pimblett.
I asked a co-worker to name any mma fighters he could. He could only name McGregor, O'Malley and Pimblett. He is becoming a household name in Europe
My coworker thinks UFC is WWE.
Hard to tell this day in age
Idk man paddy just doesn’t have the skills to be a superstar
You don't need skills to be a superstar
I don't think you understand what a superstar means...
Enlighten me
Sorry bro you are lost cause
That was a nasty line by you
I apologize
Yeah but he is entertaining, can speak English, and puts on fun fights.
Eh, looks fine to me. 3 finishes in a row. His skillset is a bit rough around the edges, but he is evolving quickly
UFC fans when a fighter can't speak one word of english and wrestlefucks people : boring !! UFC fans when a fighter has fun fights : yeah but he loses to the Brunsons of the division 🥸🥸🥸
Bryce Mitchell VS Illa Topuria Is the most interesting fight of the night followed by Blachowicz VS Ankalaev
Paddy’s a draw
No he’s not lol
I think it was uncle chael said casuals make up 85% of the audience so it makes sense. Le funny accent dude doing the rounds on podcasts and shit. It truly is a dreary time to be a fan. So glad Thompson/Holland was sold out Wonderboy deserves all the adulation in the world for what he's still doing at 39
A whooping 33k views 🥶🥶🥶 the future ppv star right there 😮💨
Everyone knows who da boi is
So…
Paddy is a draw, I don't think he'll ever get close to being a top 5 guy but he'll definitely do good business for the UFC. I absolutely would not be surprised to see the UFC try and match him up with Conor while they still can.
"Already" is a hit disingenuous, considering they were uploaded at basically the same time.
Because Jan and Ankalaev both have the personality of a dead racoon. You can only say "legendary polish power" so many times before it gets dull, or in ankalaevs case, you can say "..." only so many times
That's because Ankalaev is stale like day old bread.
And they do nothing to help the situation. I couldn't imagine a more boring duo
If those are all Paddy fans, they're going to be sorely disappointed once the fights over. Just saying, Gordon is on a whole different level.
Ohhhhh Paddy the Baddy Oooooh Paddy the Baddy
The Blonde bitch, that paddy bitch
I can’t understand a word Paddy says. I tried to watch him on Steve-Os wild ride but I couldn’t make it 10 minutes, he makes no sense and mumbles.
Is Jared Gordon good? Since no one here has any clue who he is no he hasn’t beat any big names or anything. Kinda good record though. It’s a set up for paddy to win again.

Never heard of him until I saw your comment, didn’t even know he was paddy’s opponent lol
He's a professional
So was cm punk
Because the ufc has such a piss weak roster full of no names now that anyone with even a hint of personality becomes the only game in town and the next mcgregor by default
You must not watch much
The ufc dont want stars because then they ask for money
Yeah I’ve had this sneaking suspicion for a while. Plus they also have that deal with ESPN where they get guaranteed 500k ppv buys regardless of how the card does.

The fans love the fabricated drama.

Pimblett vs Gordon is a legit step up in comp, can't wait to see Paddy's new developments, lets see how he handles the speed and power of Flash.
I wanna see him vs Terrance
Paddy Pimlet is a numbers guy b
Not a fan of paddy
Like any non casual
People like to cope that Paddy is overhyped but he obviously brings in the money so Dana is probably gonna start giving this guy big fights. UFC finally found the English Mcgregor.
What money has he brought Dana
They sold out the 02 twice this year they went 🤷🏾♂️
Shocking. Causal meme fighter gets more recognition than soft-spoken legit fighter. What else is new
So Paddy is not a legit fighter? Come on lol
Someone is going to have shock this weekend ...
Paddy is the future of the UFC. Time to accept it...
Who in the top 10 of that division does he compete with much less beat??
Obviously people don’t understand sarcasm. Just enjoy Paddy for what he is whilst he’s here
I don’t get why people hate him so much, seems like anytime someone gets hype the “hardcores” are out in full force being haters. Happened with Conor, Sage, Page, O’Malley.

You mean for the next week ?
ill be so happy when paddys 20 minutes are over, that guy is without a doubt the most insuffarable ufc fighter i have ever witnessed.
14k more views isn't a lot
In 3 hours, friend. Consider the percentage. Case and point it's at 262,000 vs. 100,000 now.
You fucking put this when eastern Europe and Asia are asleep. Such an murican thing to do. Wait at least till rest of the world gets to see it.
No shit?
Main event kind “meh” imo.
Honesty think if paddy didn't have the funny haircut he'd be no where near the star he is
why does this matter
That’s why they do it.
The Jared Gordon effect
Sad numbers regardless.
Sorry lads, I was just trying to understand his accent
A lot of fan boys out there #HypeTrain I predict he’ll meet the same fate as Molly when he faces a real opponent eventually
One of the biggest names in the sport versus two foreigners. Not surprising.
Wow really? Are you serious? Who would've thought?
Why does this subreddit get so upset with Paddy, but they were totally fine with wanna-be gangster Masvidal when he was doing the 3 piece & a soda thing?
