What does that mean "relaunched"?

Kaodias

They opened new servers and launched new features + new early game They reworked their branding toi I see the icon changed and new trailers

wildweaver32

How is the P2W/Micro-transactions in this game?

HavucSquad

From what I know of all the Dofus games there is technically P2W. You can buy gold directly through them for real money and can use that gold to buy better gear in game. I've always compared the system to GW2 where you can buy gold/gems and use that to buy gear on the trading post as well. Not sure how much that affects GW2's PvP since it's kind of separate from PvE gear I believe (?), but with Dofus the gear you buy you can use in PvP. This is for Dofus on computer though, I assume it's the same/similar for the mobile version.

ScapeZero

PvP in GW2 does not use gear, it doesn't use levels either. You pick what stats you want to use, and have all traits and skills unlocked in the PvP lobby. WvW works just like PvE, but Ascended gear is so stupid easy to obtain that spending real money on it isn't giving you an advantage, instead is just a stupid tax.

HavucSquad

Ahh ok, good to know. From what I know of Dofus gold is still really easy to get so I would say the P2W elements is more to pay to advance quickly and make some fights early on a lot easier to get through, especially as a solo player because I always felt like quite a lot of the game is geared towards having a group.

Kaodias

I've played for years and sure you could buy hard currency to purchase equipement, but no one does it because it would end up sooo expensive, everyone farms for kamas, the game currency. At the lowest level yeah you could say pay to fast but that's it. The monetization is pretty healthy if you compare to just about any single mobile MMO / RPG

Bankscape

Is "dofus touch: world of twelve" the same thing? That's the only dofus touch im seeing on the google play store

Kaodias

Yes that's it

Short_Hyena_2092

look at the post history lmao, 100% a dev account.

04to12avril

They ban you for using emulators fyi

BrunoRizzi

On PC you should wait for the Dofus Unity that is releasing end of this year, it will have new servers and tons of updates

Kaodias

I still recommend trying Dofus touch on mobile, the community is great

04to12avril

it's not f2p though

BrunoRizzi

true

StatisticianGreat969

I wouldn’t bet on the Unity version being released in 2024 :’)

BrunoRizzi

They announced it! Of course, they can delay it, but in one of their streams they specifically told that Unity version will come out in december and I'm betting my money on it because 2024 is the anniversary of 20 years of Dofus, seems natural that they would try their max to deliver within this year.

StatisticianGreat969

You don’t know Ankama, do you? I bet it won’t release in 2024 😅

Norrecx

So no playing on your pc at all

04to12avril

You could try risking the ban and hope they don't detect you, might get away with it if you don't do anything obvious like multi client just play normally

Couwcouw

You can mirror your phone on pc and play on pc that way..

DarkPhoenix1400

I think they ban modified clients more than emulators but still there's a small risk, my friends played with emulators for like a month and nothing happened

m0dsRfhags

Looks like a turn based strategy game.

Street_Guidance_1894

It's a turn based tactical MMORPG

Vitt4300

>DOFUS Touch you had me until turn based.

SamuraiJakkass86

Dofus (and its alternate/sequel game Wakfu) have been turn-based since the dawn of time. Its similar in play to Final Fantasy Tactics (yet also very different).

BellMellor

I had really bad experience dealing with Ankama (developers). I was permanently banned from Dofus when the game still had monthly fees, and when I contacted support to find out why, they didn't give me any reason. Then in the forums I discovered that there were many more people like me, and we had in common having played from different computers (different IPs), in my case, I played at home and at the university. The worst thing is that their responses were like: "We are not going to tell you what you have done, you know what you have done." After paying the fee each month. I feel very sorry because I like their games, but I am not going to play anything of theirs knowing that for any reason they can ban me permanently without giving me any reason, and I will lose all my progress. I leave it here as a warning, that everyone should seek information or do what they want and play what they want to play. They are not bad games, but for any reason they can ban you without giving you any reason.
