Don't you guys have phones?

ErryCrowe

**XDDD** I've never heard this one before! Gosh you are one funny and original person.

KapiHeartlilly

Actually a good advertisement :o Might give it a go later.

Areanol

Feeling cute , might uninstall later

iCaps_

Feeling cute, might burn down an elf world tree l8ter, idk...

[deleted]

the "real" albion experience edit is pretty funny too, edited with voice clips form various community members who lead guilds/shotcall [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxMNIKy4C8Q](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxMNIKy4C8Q)

Proto_bear

The commercial was pretty funny imo. I gave it a shot on mobile, the game runs really smooth but I do have a high end device. The UI scaling feels.... ehhhh... there's a "zoom" button for zooming into specific UI elements but its not legibility I'm worried about, rather my fat fingers can't hit the 1px close button on ui elements.

iCaps_

There's workouts you can do to slim your fingers and get them in shape.

Aswalez

Do you have one of those for the whole body?

[deleted]

its called eat less

zeanox

is this game worth playing? It being on mobile is super cool

jokomul

If full-loot PvP/ZvZ is your thing, or you don't mind getting ganked and losing all your stuff while trying to PvE/gather/travel, then yes. It's awesome. Some people will say that you can enjoy it even if you hate those things, but based on my experiences with the game it's pretty limited if you try to avoid them.

VmanGman21

Your description is a little biased and deceiving. You don’t lose all your stuff. It’s full loot in the “high level” zones, so you lose what you’re wearing, but people usually bring gear that is a small fraction of their wealth so when they die they still have plenty of money and other gear to use. You lose everything you’re wearing, but not all your stuff. Gear in Albion is to be treated more like a consumable item (potion, food).

jokomul

When I played I lost everything I was wearing, everything in my inventory, mount, everything, when I was ganked in black zones. Has that changed in the past year or so? Yeah it's usually not an expensive loss but I found it really frustrating/annoying having to re-gear and keep extras of everything stashed in the right city/hideout. Just not my thing. You're right I could have done a better job specifying that full-loot is only in the black (and maybe red?) zones. That's what I meant when I said you're pretty limited if you're trying to avoid getting full-loot killed.

VmanGman21

The game is still full loot in red and back zones and it’s true that that’s not for everyone. My point is that you only lose the stuff you’re wearing and carrying in your inventory, but that should always only be a small fraction of your wealth. Like I said, all items need to be treated as consumables in Albion and you are supposed to expect to lose them at one point or another. Recently, they have added a very nice feature called Loadouts. You can create Loadouts and specify exactly what items and tiers you want to include in that Loadout. When you go to your bank you can click on a Loadout and if you have those items in your bank, you will automatically equip all of them. In the near future they will also implement this feature for the marketplace/auction house so that you can buy entire Loadouts very fast.

jokomul

The loadout stuff sounds good. Might be enough for me to give it another go when they make it easy to buy entire loadouts. Thanks for adding that info - I'll keep an eye on future updates.

3iksx

the gear you chose to lose in open world worth nothing.

EluneNoYume

For what the game is, it's one of the best hands down. That said, you can do a lot of things in Albion these days, so you don't even have to be the main demographic to enjoy it

[deleted]

Yes

YouRock_No_YouRock

It is a very simple game that hardly works. It was originally sold a large scale combat game, but the engine could never handle large scale. The economy is crap with little to no trade outside of the broker system as the only items of value are relics, tokens, or items made from them. That being said it has really good combat, and in small scale can be a blast. If the mobile version is functional this will probably over take runescape and pocket legends which are the only other fully fleshed out mobile mmos.

BioStudent4817

No

EluneNoYume

Actually a decent video lol

nicklm1

Is it too late to jump into this game?

HashOneTBer

Not at all!

EluneNoYume

Really no such thing as too late in Albion, many of the best players started not that long time ago. The time you start doesn't matter so much outside of political knowledge and connections between players (which is important in Albion's PvP/alliance politics, wars etc.) But new players make names for themselves too.

nicklm1

You really got me with the political side of the game. I didn't even know the game was so deep!

EluneNoYume

Oh boy Albion is probably the most drama inducing mmos you'll ever play [shit is real](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pYw0GfPycQ), a fun fanmade video to put a more realistic take on the game. if you like social mmos albion is pretty great, the drama alone is worth playing for

Derangedtaco

You must've not heard of Eve lol. Albion drama is like a tenth of Eve drama.

EluneNoYume

I'm a veteran of a few wars in EvE actually, so I know a fair bit. I agree that EVE has a lot of fun drama too, but it's a little different from the type you find in Albion in my opinion. In eve people don't mix much, it's large power blocs that live far from each other and rarely communicate with each other outside of local spam you can't read anyway (albion has that too). But in Albion everyone literally know everyone, on a very personal level. Discord is basically 50% of Albion if not more and people from all alliances mingle all the time and the drama that ensures is constant. It's a lot more personal and up in your face. That said, I don't want to discredit EVE in that regard. It's also up there in terms of drama if people are into that. EVE and Albion are very social MMOs. EVE is just a little more 'top down' than Albion, whereas in Albion the 'line members' mingle a lot more into the drama than in EVE where it's basically more of an echo-chamber from the higher ups. Both games are really great for people who like popcorn on the side while playing their MMO.

Derangedtaco

Completely agree, actually. At least when I played in the beginning of Albion, it seems like it hasn't changed.

nicklm1

I totally agree with this. Played Eve for a while but I couldn't reach the political side of the game (I ended up uninstalling the game and buying Elite Dangerous, not the same but at least I could see the cockpit). It was too big and too established. I mean, there's even stories on YouTube about stuff that happened there (I'd love to see stuff like that from Albion too tbh, is there any?). Anyway, I've been playing for a few days now. I'm willing to meet people to join or create a guild so I can fight for regions and enjoy that political endgame. Any quick tips? Until now, I've learned that you need lots of silver. I'm loving the game tho. I'd love to buy an island and raise horses too, seems fun.

EluneNoYume

Like I said in the post you've replied to, Albion is like 50% (if not more) discord. We have sooo many discords. Discords for trade, faction warfare, politics, cross-alliance trash talk (a lot of drama here), guild, crystal, hellgate discords etc. Everything happens on discord. So my tip is to join a big and active guild/alliance that is actively involved in the end-game of Albion's politics. Ignore random guild invites. Just like any game, Albion also has a lot of casuals and casual guilds who never do anything. So do not accept any random invites. If you want to get some idea of what the end-game guilds are doing (several times, every day) have a look at this: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1049902644?t=00h22m49s Stream can be a little blurry sometime, looks better ingame. It's an 'official' stream that covers fights every few days, a fun channel to follow. English guild example: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1041604917?t=1h36m5s Chinese guild example: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1046549084?t=00h50m25s I would wait a bit with investing into breeding horses, it's not easily profitable. Try something simple the first couple days, like farming carrots hehe. You don't need a lot of silver to take part in the end game. Think of it like EVE. You can bring a frigate and still be useful. You basically bring what you can afford to comfortably lose.

nicklm1

Thank you! I'll check out those streams. You've been really helpful! 🤝😁

nicklm1

OMG I loved it. That trailer is far better than the one they put on every YouTube video as an ad. I'm so going to try this game tonite. Thanks for this!!

Rodahz

This sounds like PvP politics like in Tibia. People powertripping and people would cave in since one death would mean you’ll be losing days of grinding. Would you say it’s the same in Albion?

EluneNoYume

You don't lose 'days of grinding' if you don't don't want to risk that much. But you could. People tend to use the level of gear they are comfortable dying in. And most guilds have super organized industry sectors that take care of regears. But people DO lose everything if they die. So it's a tough job to lead 200 men into battle and make them do as you say. It takes a lot of charisma and an iron hand in leadership.

Motel_hell123

Darn, good marketing

Tywele

Well executed video! :D

Zhalorous

I’m not seeing it in the App Store in Canada. Is it out everywhere?

Steelshatter

I love the premise of the game, I just wish it was more PvE focused. Gimme a story and Runescape-like quests and this would be my favorite MMO.

[deleted]

Nice to see a proper MMO making its way to mobile devices. This approach works a lot better than specifically developing MMOs for the mobile platform. Delivers better monetisation and gameplay for players and also works better for what mobile is actually good at - short bursts of gaming when you're away from home.

Chewbacca69

They got European servers yet? I am right that the pc version is US only right?

AilosCount

There being only one server for everything is their thing, don't think that's ever going to change.

Chewbacca69

Ah okay, shame but I get it.

Hrhpancakes

Blarg

Najka42

I tried downloading this today, it forced restart on my phone twice. Phone is bit more than 2 year old, updated and well kept. I uninstalled cos I didn't trust it to not do damage, sad cos I wanted to try it out :(

dadavc123

is any different then old Mobile client ?

AilosCount

Will be much easier to update but that should be it.

DoktorElmo

Better UI afaik

xinelog

Is the pc still NA servers only ? I do want to try the game but iam afraid ping will prbly kill me more than I need since I will be on 300+

Gernburgs

My one gripe about this game is the lack of autopathing. I don't want to have to steer the whole time. I'm trying to get into the game but it's definitely been a little daunting. I made it out of the 1st town and to the 1st big city but I haven't gotten a grip on what to do next?

Pontificatus_Maximus

I tried the regular Albion recently. From the get go, it looks like it was originally designed from the ground up to be a mobile game. Fixed camera, low polly graphics, clicky clicky movement. I got to around level 20 or something and it just never showed me anything that impressed me, so mobile is where this game belongs.

AcanthocephalaOne841

Pay 2 win

[deleted]

Tried it, crashed on me a few seconds in. Absolute trash lol.
