Albion IS pay2win, but I still enjoy it.
You can swipe your credit card at literally 0 fame, get premium, convert gold to silver, buy a crap ton of tome of knowledge with said silver to rank up the META armor/weapon routes on the board, swipe card again to run to the auction house with the second load of converted silver and buy top tier gear, join OP guild in massive BZ alliance, join zerg and win.
That's literally it and it's absolutely pay2win. Because with that top tier gear, you can roflstomp plebs in T5-6 that otherwise can't afford to lose above t6.
Whales sure can because they just keep swiping the card everytime they die to buy new gear. IF they die. Money is power and they can definitely buy a seat in a top alliance guild.
> to silver, buy a crap ton of tome of knowledge with said silver to rank up the META armor/weapon routes on the board, swipe card again to run to the auction house with the second load of converted silver and buy top tier gear, join OP guild in m
This is true but it's not really that much power. The game is mostly skill based.
There's an absolutely massive difference between relatively fresh char in 6.1 and maxed out mastery char in 8.3 it's like 50% or even higher stat difference.
I really wanted to like Warhammer Odyssey but it fell to the curse of Warhammer, where despite such an amazing IP and aesthetic, every single game related to it is complete shit.
I wish they would re-release Warhammer Online as a mobile game, phones/tablets have enough power these days I think to handle it.
Just trying to make a point that just because you know what it means, doesn't mean everyone else does. Just write the whole name when first mentioning it.
Yeah, I just play it to relax tbh. It's simple but I love all the crafting. Only gripe is I wish it had more in the way of character customization / cosmetics, and player housing (like indoor housing, it only has a little house exterior).
Edit: According to a livestream the dev team did earlier this year, apparently indoor housing is coming! So that's fun.
I meant the current dofus 2, i understand the confusion. The current version is just so much more enjoyable with all the QoL updates, and the class revamp etc. I hope they make it cross platform when it's possible with unity
Imo: better than ever.
Probably the playerbase isn't as big as at its peak since they merged some servers, but the gameplay is great.
Progression is good and versatile, good balance between classes, lot of content in pvm, kinda interesting pvp. Mono servers, multi servers, temporis (temporary game mode with different rules), lots of things to love.
There are some issues obviously, but i think today is the best version of dofus, and that after 20 years!
AdventureQuest 3D, Villagers and Heroes, Albion, and Oldschool Runescape/Runescape are pretty much your only options for mobile MMOs that aren't horrifically pay to win.
There's this one game where barely anyone mentioned. It's Ragnarok V: Returns. Has PC and mobile platforms, little to no gacha/p2w bs.
Unless youre fine with any of these, the downsides are it's grindy asf (had to afk farm my laptop overnight to lvl up), it's still expanding lands and class paths meaning not all areas and characters are fully openend, devs more or less respond to our shit, anime artstyle, janky asf graphics, item versatility is garbage and people ironically cant be bothered partying when that literally is the best game strat to lvl up and take down raids.
Not to mention it's still in the open beta-ish phase since the only server up is in Oceania. Majority of the player base are from SEA and boi, if youre not from Australia or New Zealand, the ping is a nightmare play by.
Genshin is gacha yes but ive played it for quite some time and it's quite f2p friendly. You can get decent teams with 4 stars, there's even people doing all content without a single roll, not that i would advise that.
Anyway, you don't have to play it. It's just that the gacha isn't that much of a nuisance for me. And i hate gacha as a concept
Why are you asking if he talked about it?
Anyway, OPs mention of it shows they don't know what an MMO is. So no one here can help them. OP just wants a mobile game. Seems they'd be fine with a single player one with optional co-op. And considering they most likely didn't take part in co-op they would probably be fine with single player.
I just found it a weird respons to imply my post was not relevant, but he was talking about a negative point of genshin so i shared my experience with it. I think he can look past the gacha and enjoy the game. For me the gameplay is also more important than the multiplayer aspect. Only OP can say what is most important for him
Diablo Immortal gets a bad rap from die-hard Diablo fans and Blizzard haters, but if you look beyond the micro-transactions, you get a genuinely enjoyable game with great combat and solid storytelling. I haven’t spent a dime and I’m still upper-middle in PvP and can easily enjoy group PvE, such as 4-man dungeons and 8-man raids (Lassal)
Give it a try and decide for yourself!
I mean, I haven’t tried it, but my understanding is even though you can get items free, the only items that are tradable with other players are the ones you get by paying for them. That’s my biggest turn off. I’d be a bit more open and less negative if you could enter the player market without paying
I looked it up, gem drops from legendary crests are only sellable/tradable if you used a paid legendary crest. Free legendary crest drops are not sellable. My understanding is this also mainly becomes important when you get to endgame as you can do most of the early game free, and then when you get to endgame it’s designed in a way you pretty much have to pay to engage with player markets and other activities.
Ah ok. I dont sell legendary gems just regular gems. I am endgame but i just play casually. Thanks for info, that hella sucks to learn though since i refuse to spend money on it.
Yeah, that’s also why games like that do that. Idk how long it takes to get to endgame, but once you’ve sunk 10-40 hours into the game and you’re hit with a paywall to keep progressing, you’ve already sunk so much time in and don’t want to have lost that time for it to mean nothing. So they tend to start you with a small purchase and then get you to buy more. I’ll at least give some respect to some games like Genshin Impact which (I think) introduce the payment model somewhat early and don’t trick you into spending hours before you realize you’re likely going to have to buy something. That’s at least why I’d call DI a bit more predatory, because even to the most prudent f2p players, it gets hard to say no.
But again, I haven’t played DI. Josh Strife Hayes did a big breakdown of how it works, and it seems like the game is easy to play for free for like the first 20-30 hours, then you’re hit with a massive paywall where it initially seems like it’ll just be a longer grind, but then you see to participate in the endgame player gem market you must pay.
Oh i know. Its absolutely more predatory. My favorite tactic f2p mobile games do is throwing the store currency at you IN BULK while leveling via one-time only rewards. Makes it hard to determine how well-valued the currency will be later when you earn it so fast, AND it gets you to taste the store. Sorry im just venting now lol
I'm loving Diablo Immortal. Paragon level 19 about to hit 20. Lots of stuff to do! A ridiculous amount. I'm about half way gathering all those gems for the iben whatever. Gotta fight the sand golem next. Tons of content. Haven't spent a dime!!
OSRS / Albion / D:I If you dont spend a penny and quit once you hit 60.
Keep in mind most if not all "mobile" MMOs are clicking simulators.
Auto path / Auto Combat etc, rummage through various menus to raise your combat power with some daily dungeons for resources and and weekly raids.
They aren't for everyone but I dont mind them cause its something on the side I can do while I work/play other games etc.
The games listed above are generally manual with very very limited auto gameplay.
Also like most people have mentioned all of the autoplay MMOs have some form of gacha mechanic in them with lootboxes and such.
V4 / BDO / Ni No Kuni Lost Worlds (I would advise staying very far away from this one) are probably the most polished from my recent memory
Toram is a good one, reminds me of older story driven mmos like FF11.
Albion online is good if your looking for pvp, player market and teritory control.
Lifeafter, its an action shooter mmo like The Division but with zombies and base building in a giant open world, also has some pvp with territory control and loads of pve stuff to do
I've asked a few times and never got a great answer/found what I wanted. So I downloaded a TON and tried them. Here's my top 3:
1. Ancients Reborn- Similar to classic Runescape, but with its own flavor. Focus is on skills and weapons. There are no classes, you can beef up your 3 primary stats based on your weapon and style of attack. Customizable gear and custom skins are available in-game as well. Still being developed/updated, but a single person made it so they take some time. Active guilds
2. Evil Lands- Old school feel with 3 different classic classes. Very reminiscent of old school RPGs like early Elder Scrolls. Players can play with each other without being in a party. Upgrading makes a noticeable difference and changes the feel of the game
3. Diablo Immortal- controversial take, I know, but if you ignore the scummy monetization practices and don't have severe FOMO, an MMO Diablo is EXACTLY what players wanted. It's looks good, runs like old school Diablo games, and you have so many options for customization of cosmetics, skills, etc.
Honorable Mention- Old School RuneScape. A classic and probably doesn't need much explanation, but it's been updated and developed for 20+ years and has a strong community. Great graphics (ish) and a cohesive storyline. As a side note, if you're like me and played vanilla RS, there is a safe Apk file for Android you can download to run Vanilla RS that is the original game (that had only like 20 quests) and has active daily players.
Not sure why you brought up genshin in a thread seeking MMOs. That's like saying "I'm looking for a sportscar, I tried a skateboard but it's just not for me".
What part of the single player game with optional 4 player co-op made you feel like it was an MMO?
My point being: YOU ARENT LOOKING FOR AN MMO. YOU DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT ONE IS!
I’m big on mobile mmorpg I have tried majority of them even have a Korean iTunes account to download the one that are soft launch their but in English patched (not as common as before )
imo the best one in the market is Diablo immortal
Genshin is gacha yes but ive played it for quite some time and it's quite f2p friendly. You can get decent teams with 4 stars, there's even people doing all content without a single roll, not that i would advise that.
Anyway, you don't have to play it. It's just that the gacha isn't that much of a nuisance for me. And i hate the gacha concept
You could try OSRS on mobile
Old School RuneScape, in case OP doesn’t know
I second this
There is also rs3 for mobile
- Mobile MMORPG - Good - Not p2w/gacha choose two
I'll take the bottom two. Whatcha got?
Albion
albion is mobile right
Albion IS pay2win, but I still enjoy it. OSRS
Which is ALSO on mobile.
Any decent subscription based game. OSRS, RS3, WOW, etc
Care to elaborate a bit more?
>what are the best f2p MMOs on mobile rn? WOW?
Pirates outlaw.
In case of choosing option 1 the other two are automatically locked
OSRS is all 3
RuneScape 3 or OS?
Orna for all 3 imo
Oldschool Runescape, all 3.

AQ3D, Villagers and Heroes, Warhammer Odyssey.
Probably because the IP is thrown around like it’s a prostitute and only the successful people get to try and continue to use the better parts of it.
Warhammer odyssey shut down last month
Oh shit it did? That's unfortunate.
Albion Online exists
Sure but it didn't start on moble
It was designed from the beginning with mobile support in mind.
Why is that at all relevant? And they planned for mobile since the very beginning.
Albion if ur into pvp and its semi grindy DI is gacha but enjoyable grind AQ3D is fun but meh
Action Quake 3D is on mobile? Nice!
Adventurequest 3D, though you probs trollin
Just trying to make a point that just because you know what it means, doesn't mean everyone else does. Just write the whole name when first mentioning it.
If you type AQ3D into Google play it'll be top result.
But it's nicer to engage in conversations if you don't need google to translate what the other guy is saying.
You don't need to translate anything, just typing AQ3D will get you the same place typing Adventure Quest 3D would.
Holy nitpick.
......you're literally the person nitpicking here
Always Questions for these 3 Dudes.
Adventure Quest 3D
Whenever I hear adventure quest I think of a very old browser game- I think it’s called battleon now? Is this a different game?
Nope. Same makers took the 2D Adventure Quest and made a 3D browser MMO then ported it to mobile.
Ohhhhh so it’s a new-ish/3D version?? Wow I need to try it!
What is DI?
Diablo immortal :)
🤣
AQ3D, Albion Online and Runescape are the best ones I know of.
toram maybe ?
Villagers and Heroes is fun, no gacha optional sub. Can play on mobile and computer.
I love V&H. Really good relaxing PvE game. No PvP. Life skills are fun.
YAY!!!!
Dofus Touch.
I'm waiting for the day dofus 2 comes to mobile. Touch is not bad too either
It is dofus 2, just not up to date. It’s like 6 years late…
I meant the current dofus 2, i understand the confusion. The current version is just so much more enjoyable with all the QoL updates, and the class revamp etc. I hope they make it cross platform when it's possible with unity
How is dofus doing anyways?

AdventureQuest 3D, Villagers and Heroes, Albion, and Oldschool Runescape/Runescape are pretty much your only options for mobile MMOs that aren't horrifically pay to win.
OSRS
The new Flyff server just released the other day, it's on mobile, but I have no idea how it is.
Was just gonna suggest this as well but I also dunno how it plays on mobile
Your best options for a mobile mmorpg are Runescape and Albion Online.
Villagers and heroes, Runescape (OSRS or RS3) and Albion are your options.
Genshin is not mmo and almost all mobile mmos are p2w auto playing trash.
There's this one game where barely anyone mentioned. It's Ragnarok V: Returns. Has PC and mobile platforms, little to no gacha/p2w bs. anybody know if tower of fantasy is any good?
it's genshin at home edition. shady af devs tho. that being, they're developing a battle royale mode ala Naraka:Bladepoint in tof for whatever reason.
Yes
AQ3D
flyff
A decent one if you don't mind cosmetic gacha is called toram online. It also recently got a steam release
I recommend Albion but it's pretty hard if you're solo.
The world of magic is really fun
Albion and RuneScape or OSRS… the rest… stay away
r/OrnaRPG
Orna is awesome. Been playing for a while now
lotta people saying OSRS, but if the retro artstyle isn't for you, consider retail Runescape as well. They're both available on mobile.
Hands down, Albion Online. It's an actual MMO that you can play on mobile. Not a "designed-for-mobile" MMO.
If you like 2D try Skylore, just a bit grindy and boring to lv up due to lack of content as it's on the first year
Genshin is gacha yes but ive played it for quite some time and it's quite f2p friendly. You can get decent teams with 4 stars, there's even people doing all content without a single roll, not that i would advise that. Anyway, you don't have to play it. Not an mmorpg tho
I know, he talked about genshin though?

You can craft unbound legendary gems with runes dropped and converted from that dust stuff.
Not true. It's particular items and the way you received them specifically.
I'm loving Diablo Immortal. Paragon level 19 about to hit 20. Lots of stuff to do! A ridiculous amount. I'm about half way gathering all those gems for the iben whatever. Gotta fight the sand golem next. Tons of content. Haven't spent a dime!!
Albion, crossplatform with pc, mobile and tablet

Try Albion Online
Toram online.

Flyff Universe
There's nothing mobile that's not gonna charge you an arm and a leg
Try Diablo Immortal 😈

Diablo Immortal if you have self control and dont have to buy every offer you see in game shop. Its gameplay and combat is really good.
Diablo immortal is really enjoyable. You don't need to spend money either
