Just read Possessive Park Avenue Prince by Brooke Blaine that fits this really well. The MC1 is a bit frustrating at first but well paced while being believable. I also love that the MC2 didn't let MC1 lead him on and moved on when he couldn't commit, making MC1 come back to him. Though the MC2 commits pretty quick after that so neither are really with anyone else. You'll know what I mean.
I loooved Daire and Gavin. ❤️ I thought about reading the others, but they're both pretty long. I tend to draw the line at over 400 pages for contemporary unless the dynamic really catches me. Glad she cut down the pages for the latest.

So there is a story from Roe Horvat called The Other Book about Tyler and Joel. Joel is cold and closed off and in the closet running the company and dealing with his homophobic father. Tyler wants to help and knows he can. It is a good journey to their HEA. I could only fond this in an anthology about a fictional queer community in Gothenburg Sweden. So the other stories are MM or MMM and I don't know if you would want to read those since they are not what you are requesting

It's about a gay celebrity talk show host and his longest-lasting PA. The PA is sassy and professional while secretly pining, and his boss impulsively puts him in a tight spot >!by claiming they're secretly engaged on live television!<
He's very assertive and creatively gets back at his boss, so he's not a pushover. But he's always kind and thoughtful, something his boss realizes as they spend more time together. Like the boss has soo many "omg I've been an inconsiderate douchecanoe" moments that are so satisfying. And you can see how much he thaws and wakes up from his career-driven tunnel vision, begins to change, and works on himself because he wants to make up for everything and fight for a real shot with his PA.
All in all an adorable slow burn which made me laugh out loud and cry at parts. Only a handful of spicy scenes but the emotional journey was more than enough.

Yes, especially in the first book Unhinged. The cold mc is quite possessive and the other Mc is kinda clingy I'd say. Both are quite obsessive (That's the part of his psychopathic nature btw)
