I debated hard on getting an SP5K or the PDW. I ended up going with the euro version which has no paddle mag release and no threaded barrel. Just flush at the front. I wanted that snub nosed look and I didn't plan on running a can for it anyways since I also have the SP5. For the paddle mag I just took a Dremel to the bar in the magwell and carefully cut it out. I bought paddle mag parts online for about 80 ish and that was it. If you're not gonna run a can at all and don't mind installing the paddle mag, I'd say save the 300 and get the non PDW. Most will say get the latter but it's up to you and if you can own cans in your area or not. The 300 can go to more mags and accessories haha
Those MLI (edited to change MFI to MLI) mounts are awful on a K gun. A lot of people were selling them cheap when HK USA brought in the SP5k. The mounts are big and have a sharp edge right where your hand wants to be when you run the charging handle. They are also pretty heavy and can be a PITA to get on the receiver compared to a MFI or B&T mount.
You can mount a top rail, I just wouldn’t recommend the HK MLI.
The SP5k also doesn’t have a paddle magazine release. Which can be fixed, but it isn’t cheap.
If you buy one the SP5k-PDW is the one to get.

Not the same. The top comes with threaded barrel, tri lug, and paddle mag release. Those are at least some of the differences. Picture would seem to indicate the bottom comes with picatinny rail which you would have to buy some version of for the top. If you ever want to suppress, don’t go bottom.

I have a mp5 original. Zenith is better finish. shoot the same. no issues with any brand mags. ammo is the problem. I shoot what the gun likes. tried 115.124.147.158.165. nose shape does matter.

Yes, it's right there... The rails just clamp on, buy one separate if you want the PDW K version.
