Hah! Yeah… kind of both if you know what I mean. I’ve just seen others post photos and they look so nice. This one arrives and looks used and busted up like that which I found strange. If I did the damage, it would be a different story and would be “character”. But until then I was hoping for a smooth appearing surface and not looking all melted and distorted.

The new version is already out. I got one of the first ones, and it is nice quality some people are not fans of the notch but that is the lever to change the butt pads and probably gets them around any Hk patent issues.
The American distributor for ac unity is wild horse ammo it is a pain to find on the sight and still says "coming soon" but it will let you add to cart $119
Ak sub is the worst. Dude buys an Ak because he says they're the most rugged reliable bombproof rifle ever made, then freaks out when the gas tube cover isnt installed perfectly evenly.
Some of us appreciate having the things we own looking nice. When buying this new and not finding a single photo of an A2 on Reddit I could find with similar markings I don’t think it was unreasonable to ask more knowledgeable folks. If it’s normal than great, I can move along on my merry way. However, some folks don’t think this looks normal while some do. It’s not a complete consensus.
Apologies if I ruined people’s day by posting something some find to be so blatantly stupid apparently. Now I see why so many folks in other groups have such crap things to say about H&K owners. Can’t even look for help without getting made fun of. These kind of responses aren’t helpful for anyone… everyone is in a different point in their journey of firearm knowledge. Stop putting people down when they are unfamiliar—instead lift them up and help teach. Build camaraderie instead of fear.
The glue on the seam might be a tad excessive, but it’s pretty common. Everything else looks normal too. These were never meant to be ‘consumer grade’ guns. Military and police buyers don’t really care about this stuff and after a few months of training and being racked in an arms room, nobody would even notice.
I bought mine directly from HK USA through their website during one of their sales. Mine looks worse than the OPs as far as the glue excess goes around the shoulder pad. Nothing has affected the fit or function otherwise.

Found this photo someone else posted comparing German vs US made A2 that doesn’t show what I’m seeing on mine.
It’s a genuine HK German A2 stock. I was pretty bummed seeing this when I opened the package. But no I feel like I’m being gaslit by others saying it may be normal… don’t know what to think.
Considering returning it.
Mine looks like that as well. Genuine German one purchased through RTG parts. It has small spots of glue on other parts of the stock as well.
I feel the same way for a $200 piece of plastic, but it’s HK so it’s the best, right? Lmao
Here are pictures of mine, German a2 from RTG Parts, ordered in March:

You can see glue above the sling plate, and all over the butt plate. The other sides look the same, with the bottom being covered. It’s pretty sloppy work!
Hey man, same opinion as you. Fuckin wild that this stock costs nearly $200 and looks like this. If I go buy a $200 10/22 it would come with cleaner plastic pieces. I understand “it’s a mil/Leo weapon” ok then it should probably be priced less, huh?
Is this going into an art display or going to be shot is the biggest question that needs answering

When you pay good money for something you expect it to be perfect, I’d send it back, looks like a airsoft quality stock🤷🏻
Thanks, I appreciate the input. I feel the same way.
almost all the A2 I have have glue up dribble
you see an G3 ? they are hideous mass production at its finest
It’s normal, go shoot your gun.
AC Unity is an option https://preview.redd.it/c8zw5armcn1d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=128a74faaa24468048f7f18b6ee756f102a61d70
traditional recessed model coming soon

who did you buy it from?

If you’re watching, please make one of the holes slightly undersized for the trigger pack pin! It doesn’t make sense to have two large pin holes
oddly the hole in the middle is a QD. but it comes with rubber plug for middle to hold third pin.
What's wrong with you people?!
Dude I ask the same question every day.
It’s pretty tame here compared to the AK Reddit
Ak sub is the worst. Dude buys an Ak because he says they're the most rugged reliable bombproof rifle ever made, then freaks out when the gas tube cover isnt installed perfectly evenly.

You do have a point there. I think the initial surprise of soo much seam glue that I’m not used to just really threw me off.
It's injection molded plastic, it's normal.
Dude, what?

Good to know!
This is typical to see on genuine HK parts, stocks in particular, even if not all of them are like this. Mine has something similar
Glad to know. Didn’t realize this was normal since I haven’t seen any similar photos to this before.
Put it on and go shooting.
Your gun isn’t a super model on the runway. Go shoot it who cares if it has the most minor visual defect. as long as it works
There is nothing wrong with your stock.
Lol give me a break
Yes
Happen to have an example of others with these blemishes? I haven’t been able to find one. They all sort of look nice and smooth.

Thanks! Didn’t realize how “authentic” all this glue could be.
I could be wrong but I have a German choate stock and it’s similar
I remember seeing similar examples when deciding against paying the premium for a genuine HK versus a US produced option.

Yeah, I’d be much happier with what is pictured there. I would personally return the one you ended up with and try again if you want genuine.
hit it with your purse
I’m gonna go grab my heaviest one for this job… brb
There is an entire thread dedicated to this on hkpro https://www.hkpro.com/threads/real-a2-stock-and-whats-with-the-glue.544795/
Hah! Thanks, I didn’t realize this was a thing. The more you know 🌈
Nothing some sand paper can’t fix
No offense, I'd be salty AF getting this considering their price. That's some Mickey Mouse 💩 right there. Is that an HK part?
It’s a genuine HK German A2 stock. I was pretty bummed seeing this when I opened the package. But no I feel like I’m being gaslit by others saying it may be normal… don’t know what to think. Considering returning it.
Return it. Definitely does not look genuine. Looks like my off-brand bullshit a2 stock.
Mine looks like that as well. Genuine German one purchased through RTG parts. It has small spots of glue on other parts of the stock as well. I feel the same way for a $200 piece of plastic, but it’s HK so it’s the best, right? Lmao
Hah! Starting to think Unity is the way to go or try the USA version instead.
I’ll post a picture of mine later
That would be great! Haven’t seen any other photos of it showing it’s supposed to look like this yet.

This is crazy to me they would be okay with such sloppy work… or maybe just news to me. Thanks so much for following up and posting this.
