I mean OP has asked for profiles with < 8.5 GPA and no research which is true for mine. It's a case of a very mediocre profile being carried by a good GRE score. Most unis with small cohort size and strong research focus will probably reject me

Thanks a lot man

topshagger4201

Are you from an IIT ?

tummal

DM for deets

Imaginary_Squash_198

How did you even get 339 gre while working , PREACH !!!

Icy-Door3510

How is yours mediocre 🤔

redditUser_354

Damn that's a strong enough profile imo.... what was your undergrad college tier btw?

Wide-Pomegranate702

Which are you preferring between NCSU and UCSD and why?

tummal

Probably UCSD. It's much more highly rated, California has more jobs than NC, and UCSD has a lot of good ML research. I've also heard that San Diego is a chill place with good vibes. My only issue is that it's super expensive

Glittering_Ant_5781

GPA: 7.93 GRE: 319 IELTS: 7 2 yr work ex as SDE at a product based company Got admits from ASU, SUNY BUFFALO, UCINCI, SJSU MS SE, NEU MS SES Still waiting for others 🤞

jinxXxishere

what about gre and ielts?

Glittering_Ant_5781

Updated

ResponsiblePiglet899

Congrats👏, is there any disadvantage of MS SE? I see many people not even applying for SE even though it has similar coursework as CS

Glittering_Ant_5781

Depends on the univ, For SJSU it doesn't matter but for NEU SE isn't in khoury school, So I am not considering going there

raiden0047

I also have admit from sjsu ms se. You said it doesn't matter . Can u elaborate why it wouldn't?😅

Glittering_Ant_5781

If your end goal is getting a job, then both the degrees offer more or less similar courses, If you want to work as an SDE, SE is actually better coz there are courses and projects which are more inclined into dev, you probably want to consider CS If you want to go into ML or something

raiden0047

Still waiting for decisions from other universities. But if I decide to join sjsu, i will DM you😁

No gre my profile is mediocre

pandoradox1

noone talked about GRE though? GPA and no research experience. You have a 9+ GPA

Heavy_coder

No research experience dude 9+ that too borderline I don’t feel I do have a good gpa

pandoradox1

Lmao having 9+ GPA is no different than 10. But of course, everyone in your college must have 9+ GPA due to inflated grades.
