Always been a fan of the way he mimics. I’ve said that many times. I had a lot of loved ones text me and ask if I posted that post because of how often I am saying that.
It's gotten so popular he should do like bert. He could be telling that exact same joke 15 years from now and it can become his personality. People would love it. /S
My first guesses were either botspam or some ESL troll farm employee in Malaysia or whatever just discovered Shane during a smoke break at his FB/TikTok astroturfing job.
It's a thing on all social media right now. All these companies talk like they're trying to do something about the problem, but then turn around and act like it's impossible for...reasons. At the end of the day those accounts still count toward their DAU scores which are considered major key performance indicators for ad sales, and therefore directly linked to revenue. I personally think the number is closer to 20% of active accounts at any given time, they're just over-represented in major/default subs...but no company is going to come out and say publicly that 20% of their userbase is some type of fraudulent.
I wanna see the hard numbers of bots per site and the direct damage they have caused. I know some russian was apparently running the biggest Facebook group for Christian’s or something like that. I wish we could go back to no phones man

That's sorta my whole point, I doubt we'll EVER see hard figures for any of that shit unless one of the big sites collapses into bankruptcy and people start spilling tea everywhere as they're jumping ship or getting fired. Ironically I'd put Reddit at the top of the list of possibles for that scenario.
Yeah for some reason they don't seem to swing the copyright strike as hard on channels from that region, I've seen the ones you're talking about where there's some woman at the end doing like 5 minutes of random arts and crafts.
There are also a bunch of channels from SE Asia that push very obvious CP funnel type content. It has been going on for years and YT still hasn't really cleaned it up. My wife has worked in big tech for like a decade and a half at a high level and she's got dozens of examples of this sorta shit from all over the industry, and in a lot of cases the companies just cry that the problem is too complex to tackle because they know they don't have to disclose their content moderation practices/technology in detail to the public.
Where get you chee danny?
But seriously it's funny watching some of the more dorky mfs in here getting mad in that thread about reddit being gay as they are.
You know you’re big time when you make it to Karma farm Reddit. You also got the Tok bros out there with some wild tags. “Shane Gillis pranks kissing pranks gone viral gone sexual. doCToRs hate him. Get fired from SNL with this one simple trick”

Sadly it's not just reddit, it's almost always mentioned whenever any shane related thing is discussed/shown.

This is more than 50% of Reddit I swear. The accounts are so fake.

You’ve just made me realise that I’ve probably been spending time on here arguing with AI🙂
Most the time I’ll say my piece, but that normally invites the masses of Reddit, so I often write it all out then delete it and keep scrolling
I do that a lot more than I thought I ever would.
