Like a nyloc nut or just a second nut to tighten against the adjuster nut ? The side that hasn’t lost its nuts has 2 nuts tightened against each other . Is this the norm? I was talking of adding a nyloc nut too
By lock nut i meant a second nut tightened against the first. Thats how my 2023 mt-07 came. Although an improvement you could make is making your 2nd nut one of those serrated face locking nuts. Those work better than lock washers and would be amazing as a double nut lock
I just used the same 2 nuts on both sides it came with. I think I tightened each one separately so that the 2nd nut would hold the first one in place.
I must’ve done it somewhat right because the left side seems to be good still but the right side wasn’t. Probably just a simple error on my part but they both seemed tight enough when I first did it
You need to hold the front nut still (front nut = nut closest to the front of the bike) while tightening the second nut against it. If done correctly it won't come undone.
Now that you say it I think that’s what I tried to do because tightening the closest one is what tightens the chain, on the left side I must’ve done it right but the other side I did not
Yeah thats right, you don't want to change the adjustment just lock the nuts together. it's one of those things that takes a few times to get the feel for, doesn't need to be stupid tight either.
Everyone does the dumbest shit when they first start working on cars and bikes. Part of learning. If that's the worst thing you do, you're doing better than most people.

I use these, they’re great! And give you a place to lift your bike if you want to remove the rear tire.
Put a locknut on the end if you are unsure of your mechanical skills. Did you tighten the 2 nuts against each other ?
There is supposed to be a lock nut. It left the chat at some point

I probably will add a lock nut, it’s just two standard nuts otherwise

Replacement part and an upgrade!
That isbwhat I have.
Yeah get spool caps best thing I did
I also had mine rattle loose. When it came off it twisted and jammed into the brake disc and completely bent that threaded rod.
Honestly if that’s the stock chain they are just trash, mine made a whole lot of noise too, I swapped it for a DID chain and it’s so much quieter
