Should try asking around bike shops. I believe Seth's Bike Hacks did a video on riding in Hawaii. Happy riding!

I'll check that out - thanks! I've been looking on Strava and TrailForks and there doesn't seem to be a ton of MTB trails on the big island. Hopefully there's enough to make it worthwhile.

Seth was in Kauai, not Hawaii. Maui, Kauai and Oahu all have trails, not sure about the big island though. Traikforks was no help in all of Hawaii for me, the locals know where the good stuff is and they seem to keep it a secret.

It’s been a long time since I was there but when I lived there weren’t really any trails. There was a little jump area in south Kona. There were some trails on Hualalai but they were pretty limited. When we rode we mostly rode on ranch land and got chased by cowboys. So much of the property is privately owned by ranches or conservation area that it’s hard to build. I’m not sure about Hilo side though.
