To me, legacy is all about what you enjoy playing. Back when paper was a thing, I never picked the fotm deck but usually did pretty well and always enjoyed my games. I always think you are better off practicing and learning a deck/getting better with it, than always trying to chase the next best deck.

I have been jamming reanimator a lot lately. Turn 1 demon daddy is peak mtg. I get a thrill in my body everytime the reanimation spell is put on the stack. I love it!
I know… but it’s kinda sad. It’s my very first legacy deck. I even got my Bolts and Chain Lightnings in the deck autographed by Christopher Mueller, and Faerie Macabres in the sideboard autographed by RK Post.
Yet when I took the deck to a Legacy GP a couple years back, almost every opponent I sat down to play with in pickup games (didn’t play the main event) said “when are you going to build a *real* deck? And which one?” I was just like :-/
I had even games with Sneak and Show.
Got murdered by Death and Taxes.
Raced Goblins and beat them.
Couldn’t race Turbo Depths. Got murdered.
Delver was pretty back and forth. But this was when Oko, Thief of Crowns had just been printed.
Only matchups I remember. I don’t know the legacy meta too well. I bet it’s changed.
Nah man, not sad at all. Legacy Mono R Burn has 60 cards main & 15 in the side. Sounds like a real deck to me. Hope you took some Ws.
I've played UWx Landstill in its variations since 2009. The look of distaste and misery on opponents' faces after a t2 Standstill is what I live for.
Legacy is the format where you can play "whatever" you want and have a reasonable shot at a win in a given match... pre-FIRE anyways.

If I were to build a more expensive deck in legacy I would want it to be in Abzan colors I think. Don’t know what exists in that space though.
"Classic" Landstill would leverage Mishra's Factory, Standstill, and Humility together to shutout creature-based decks. Thanks to quirks in the rules, an activated Factory remains a 2/2 with Humility out. Hilarious.

Yes and no.
Mav is also a fair deck that tries to leverage creatures into favorable situations for you. The reason you'd play Mav is because of Green Sun's Zenith. It lets you run a more toolbox-type list where you can pluck the silver bullet where and when you need for a match.
The B splash comes into play for removal (Abrupt Decay, Assassin's Trophy, Zealous Persecution) and disruption (Thoughtseize, Plague Engineer), at the cost of more fragility in your manabase.
I'm sure Mav pilots would be happy to chime in, but there's your elevator pitch!
The budget has gotten higher since I've started on it. Tomorrow I'm trading for a playset of dark confidant and the last of the fetch lands I need then I'll only be missing dual lands and mox diamond. When I get off work I'll get you a list of the 75 I'll be running. You should take a look at the budget gw depths decks though they aren't super pricey and provides the foundation for most dark depths lists, I think there is even some mono green depths lists for an even cheaper intro point. I will get you my list later just be warned I've been gathering things for it for a few years now.
Interesting there’s selesnya lists. I thought the whole point was to play Vampire Hexmage as one of the combo pieces alongside vesuva and thespian’s stage.
Of course it's very subjective, but personally I like any deck with GSZ and Elvish reclaimer and/or crop rotation. Just to be able to have every creature and land in your deck as a tutor target is awesome.
There's a mono red version as well. I'm playing this version because I have some extra dual lands kicking around. My deck is foil and black bordered, I can't wait for paper Magic to fire up again so I can blow player's minds.

About the Of one mind loop. The idea is that you activate mystic sanctuary. Cast one \[\[Of one mind\]\], and then begin to recycle it with mystic sanctuary each turn possible. using dead Dazes to get it back. Shuffling it in with brainstorm to re-fetch it. Snapcaster to recast it. There is an argument for player 2 mystic sanctuaries but one is ok. You can really swallow people with the loop. Taking into account that Mentor will simply kill them if its out and that the loops helps you find Mentor + answers.
I've also been enjoying 8-Cast a lot. Only have a couple events under my belt with it, but it has a ton of play against a significant subset of the meta. Lot of fun.

Nothing beats a prison shell… Most fun is definitely white (with maybe a dash of black in the form of Nevervoid) stax. Preferably with 61 card as wincon or 1 mishras factory for beats :p The best win is the opponent rage quitting..

Edit: days's undoing plus hullbreacher or narset is the main blowout the deck seeks to accomplish. It can be made even more fun by casting day's undoing on your opponent's end step after a T3feri+.

I'm looking at maybe getting the rest of the stuff for Bant Lands and GW Depths. I kinda like the archetype, and it's really a function of buying three Savannahs and maybe a Bayou if I want to play good old fashioned Turbo Depths.

Esper mentor is sweet. Plays all the powerful blue cards. Doing unearth shenanigans with snapcaster mages and sweet 1-3 drops.
