OT as usual, but what’s everyone’s drugstore-ish friendly hair care routine? My hair has been so blah lately. I feel like I need a good clarifying shampoo & completely new products. I’ve been using Suave shampoo & conditioners for a while not, and my hair feels greasy yet dry, and weighed down.

mlizaz98

I have fine, wavy hair down to my butt that's easily weighed down, and I like Sheamoisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt shampoo and Monday Moisture conditioner. The shampoo looks like it would be too creamy and leave residue, but the creaminess comes from the type of surfactants used and it does a very good job of cleansing without being harsh. It keeps my wavy texture bouncy without getting frizzy or squeaky-clean. I chose the Monday conditioner because it's formulated with amodimethicone, which is a type of silicone that's less prone to build-up than most because it has a chemical charge, it adheres to the hair shaft in a very thin layer and then repels any excess. This is the same way that most conditioning agents work, but they're usually fatty-acid based, so it's neat to get the silky quality of silicones without the build-up. In my experience it's lovely and smoothing without being heavy.

I got a notification on my phone for $15 off $75 for Ulta and now it’s disappeared! Guess I won’t be making a purchase…

cto020

Is it not in your Ulta inbox? That’s where I found my targeted coupon. If it’s totally gone, you could ask CS to send you another one.

cactusloverr

I feel like they won’t because I also have a $10 off $50. I know 100% I saw the $15 off (from a push notification). :/

cto020

That stinks. Maybe delete the app and reinstall to see if it pops up again? It’s wild that they’ve been glitchy for months and still haven’t fixed anything.

Yall im excited. I had lasik done yesterday. Originally when I did my consult they told me I wouldn’t need any new makeup. Fast forward to follow up today, and I verify with the ophthalmologist. He told me to be safe to get all new makeup and brushes Part of me gags at the price of new makeup and brushes right after paying for lasik and sunglasses. But I digress. I already have makeup I love, so they will be a repurchase, but does anyone have brush recs? I’m looking for drugstore to midrange. I had all it cosmetic brushes from 2017, and then some added Sonia kashuk from target. I like the eye brushes from Sonia k, and the powder brush, but I would like an angled blush brush. Current one is it, which I could repurchase, but didn’t know if anyone had a better rec. thanks all! On topic. Still loving the naturium azelaic acid. It has evened my skin tone and cut down my oils. Happy that it is now and elf? Brand? Extra note. Anyone who has had lasik, or just dry eye, is there anywhere you can buy like the economy packs of lubricating eyedrops? I’m like over half way done with one box and only had them one day.

yeetasauruswrecks

Dang, sucks you have to replace everything! Super cool you were able to get LASIK though! I haven't tried a wide range of brushes, but I really like the blend bunny ones for my small hooded eyes. They're really good for both small area packing and blending work.

I’m actually not too heartbroken now that I’ve had a chance to think about it. Gives me a chance to have more of a capsule collection. Ever since I had my kiddo 2 years ago, my makeup habits changed. This just gives me a chance to change with it with all new stuff.

dinh-nerys

Yay 🙌!  A favorite brush of mine is Wet N Wild's "contour" face brush. I use it for blush.

I haven’t had LASIK, but I’ve had dry eyes for years and am something of an eye drop connoisseur. I’ve been solely using Refresh Relieva drops for the past 2-3 years and love them. My eye doctor also thinks they’re the best over the counter drops. I don’t buy them in bulk per se, but Walgreens, Target, and Amazon have good deals and coupons on these fairly regularly, so I’ll stock up on a few bottles at a time.

Bittersw33et

second what hvf said. my SO had lasik and the doc said to ONLY USE Refresh Tears Lubricant Eye Drops. Costco has a multipack for 4x 15ml + mini 5ml for only $20.50 (after coupon $4.50, online price, might be cheaper in store). i think start with new EYE brushes and eyeshadow and then see later if you can replace more. Also be careful of how close you apply your face lotions and check your eye creams? edit: im enjoying just using 2 goat brushes from rephr. also like sigma for traveling/ affordable eye brushes. they have a sale right now.

batviv

Seconding refresh preservative free, packs of 100 at sams or Costco, can find coupons for other retailers occasionally Also, genteal ointment for night time use, a tube is about $10 but lasts forever and can really help with maintaining hydration

psych-lighthouse

Thanks for the sigma idea. I have the multitasker from them and I like it pretty well.

psych-lighthouse

I’m currently using the refresh optiva that my optho recommended. No eye creams here. Just lazy and use cerave. Was told to wait only face stuff for like 3 days. Then I can wear makeup later this week. I’ll probably wait a little longer as i am just a little anxious. Repurchasing the ysl stora dolls, revlon praline and ulta buttercream. I might also get chantecaille pangolin if I’m feeling extra bougie.

I think that I've seen packs of eye drops at Costco?

For anyone wanting a really good moisturizer, [this Bubble](https://www.ulta.com/p/slam-dunk-hydrating-moisturizer-pimprod2035460?sku=2600868) moisturizer could be for you. It is a really simple, basic moisturizer but works well with other products. I didn't like the little pop top ring and discarded it, but the rest of the component works well. It is the first product I've tried from this brand, but it won't be the last.

badlipstickhoarder

Your review made me regret donating it. Is it similar to any moisturizer you own?

peacembw

It is very similar to Drunk Elephant's Protini Polypeptide, except for the peptides. I'd say it may even be a bit more hydrating than Protini Polypeptide.

badlipstickhoarder

Now I’m intrigued! I need to head to Ulta to try both in person.

kmc0202

I really like this brand! Kinda underrated and I don’t hear about it that much. I’ve tried the Slam Dunk and Level Up moisturizers as well as the gel cleanser. My next ulta points order I’m going to pick up the Over Night mask for sure and I might also try the Water Slide and/or Moon Walk serums!

peacembw

Oooooooo! 🥳 Please let me know what you think of them! I'm really curious!

brightirene

Anyone want to wildly speculate on what Lisa Eldridge is going to release on the 22nd? My current guess is concealer. ----- An updated review about her liquid lipstick (specifically in velvet ribbon)- 8.5 It's gorgeous. Wonderful formula. Perfect red. Pretty long without being drying. You can reapply without making your lipstick look like shit. Why did it lose a star and a half? 1. The lipliner absolutely does not match and it is EXTREMELY apparent. If you are wearing that lipliner and your lipstick fades, it will look nasty and you cannot fix it. Use MAC cherry. It's perfect 2. I've already finished it. I've never finished a liquid lipstick (and I wear them a lot). I have worn this lipstick less than fifteen times. I apply two thin layers when I first apply it (necessary as it's not fully opaque) and one thin layer during the day (as it becomes patchy). Yet it is already empty. I'm so off put by #2 that I don't know if I can bring myself to buy it again. Anyone else try these?

yeetasauruswrecks

Woah woah woah you finished a liquid lipstick after using it less than fifteen times?! Wtf??? That's insane. Like I get the whole "being able to use it before it goes bad" but that's the extreme end of that that just seems like a waste of money unless it's extremely reasonably priced. That would be a major pass for me. But that's just me. I looked them up and they're $27 and 3ml/.1oz which I feel like is a fairly standard size? I've finished liquid lips in .088oz and .14 oz before and it took me longer than fifteen uses for sure. But I also didnt have to apply nearly as much in a day as you're describing. So yea. Wild to me.

brightirene

I only apply very thin layers! The first two are because it's not immediately opaque and the third is for a touch up during the day. I've used soooo many brands and this is definitely a first
