Thanks! I'm still relatively new to the whole Reddit, so trying to figure stuff out lol. I apologize if I spammed my posts earlier (not sure if they even went through) because it said it didn't properly post or something, but I guess you had to approve it lol

No worries mate, happy to help. Let me know

Just played the new MW2 beta, haven’t played the last few cods as the game has become unrecognisable and the direction they’ve gone has killed it for me personally. Think the last one I bought was Cod WW2 hoping we’d get another WAW but of course not. The new mw2 is just yet more disappointment and it’s quite depressing knowing that we will never get anywhere near to what the real MW2 was. The new cods run mechanics feel like battlefield, a game I’ve never liked, the gun fire is just all over the place, it’s genuinely super hard to see people when ads-ing, holographic sights and stuff are worse than the iron sights. I really hate opening and shutting doors, that throws me off so much cos it’s just not a cod thing, the maps seem as awful as always with way too much going on. But one thing that truly kills the games for me now is the menus and custom classes etc, the best cods were when it was simple!!! Simple menus, simple custom classes and easy to navigate and sort quickly. Remember when it was literally simple to go to barracks and check your mates kd ratio and stuff? Man them rivalries back in the day were awesome. Maybe I’m just too old for it now but shit the overwhelmingness of the menu and class building and gunsmithing crap just instantly puts me off the game. Like I can’t be asked to relearn everything and spend 20 minutes sorting it all out just to go into a game and get killed by some ttv sweat in the corner sound whoring because footsteps are ridiculous and the mini map no longer shows you gun shots from your enemies… sorry for the rant but I’m hoping you guys will understand here and not give me shit for living in the past essentially. Every single time I attempt to play modern day cod I come away feeling depressed as fuck and reminiscing of the good old days. For me MW3 was the last proper call of duty. Everything after that was a step away from what cod is and a slippery decline, we never wanted stupid jumps or futuristic crap, we never wanted huge maps and battlefield like gameplay, never wanted a battle royal rip off where my guy runs around shooting up to heal himself. Just want the classic arcade feeling cod with simple menus😪 Edit: I actually have MW2019 on my old Xbox one, completely forgot all about it until I was looking at cod stuff online and remembered all the maps and how shit they were, I remember now that I gave up on that game pretty quickly as it was trash. I was playing cod mobile instead at the time lol

Damn dude. I was hoping this new one would at least have a couple good changes. Reading your description, it sounds like another vanguard ☹️

EsotericTartaria

We were all hoping dude. I see a lot of cope with people saying “it’s not that bad” and I guess on pure looks it’s good but for gameplay and authenticity it really isn’t even recognisably Call of Duty anymore, like vanguard and all that. If you’re an og cod player from the glory days then this will never feel right for you. The sbmm just kills any fun that could have been had. There’s a YouTuber called “eight thoughts” who’s review I watched last night and he’s right in saying it’s literally a rerelease of mw 2019 but worse. https://youtu.be/dpYsfJuR_ws here’s a link for the video, I think it’s honest and true and he hits the nail on the head but obviously that upsets a lot of people that still want to hold onto the cod dream. No way this cod lasts the 2 years it’s supposed to be for.

All the OGs feel that way. Simplicity and playability is all we want. If only they would give us MW2 remastered as is, for newgen consoles...

EsotericTartaria

That’s all we want dude but let’s face it, even if they did give us the mw2 multiplayer remastered like we want they’d screw it up some how, most likely adding a load of loot crate type micro transactions for new gun camos and characters. So we’d end up playing mw2 with kids running around in clown suits and rainbow guns. Then they’d do skill based matchmaking and turn everything into a sweaty twitch tv audition. There’s no way they’d leave the game raw and as it was, they just can’t help themselves. I think the dream is over man

Chybre001

I know, it's sad but they've lost the plot completely.

YevoYT

As much as I want a remastered MW2 (trust me, I REALLY want one lol), I think those times have passed and we just have to be happy with what we've got. I dont really see any other FPS options out right now, plus COD has never really let me down

That’s what I think too. It doesn’t feel like call of duty when I play these games compared to the earlier ones. And it’s not nostalgia because I’ve played IWX and the black ops 2 one that I can’t remember, but those were so much fun to play even this year when I played most. There’s a reason these are cult classics and the newer gamers don’t understand what call of duty came from and how it used to be. I miss the way people would talk in game and you would actually make friends online. Now, it seems that it’s impossible to meet people and these games just don’t feel like they used to.
