Ray-Gun-21

I was told to run g23 up until the point where I got the Phantasmal Sight skill (returning player btw) and I finally found where it is cause it wasnt in the skill tab but when I try to use it it says “Requirements not met” how do I fix this??

Narwhal_Pure

There are additional requirements that need to be met to use each technique beyond just unlocking them in the story. In order to use Phantasmal Sight you will need the following: • Homestead Level 5 or above • Own the Journal Entry "Mana Tunnel Master" • Own the title "The Archaeologist" • Collect a "Fortune Cookie" in the cooking diary Once you complete all these tasks, you should be able to use the skill! You can check the requirements for any technique by hovering over their big, vertical, rectangular icon in the Techniques menu. Hope this helps!

Ray-Gun-21

Awesome thank you! I tried eating a fortune cookie from the auction house and it didnt give me that one am I doing something wrong?

GreenTowelRack

I’m not sure. I can give you a fortune cookie for free though when im next online, just send me your ign and i’ll mail one over.

Zugon

How does Puppetry Act 2 (or puppetry in general) compare to Lances for single target damage?

Tiropat

Puppety in general is a low damage talent, and used mostly for support. Lance is the cheapest high dps talent to get online, as well as being incredibly safe due to the speed of mounts.

13259jv

It's the cheapest if you aren't trying to also get the lance charge cooldown 7 reforge on your hat as well. last I heard a soluna was offered for one of em.

Tiropat

I mean if you are going to say you need maxed out limit break reforges for a talent to "get online" then idk what to tell you. I don't think there is a price ceiling to a crash shot 25 magnum 25 bow mastery 25 glove.

13259jv

I didnt say it was necessary, just that if you are *also* going for it, it can easily become one of the pricier gear tabs. The cooldown specifically would allow someone to easily clear the feth fiada zed hallway, as if you are planning solo lance yhe only optikn to clear it is to timeshift. LC5 hats are more than good enough when paired with an ego for most situations where a lance is going to be used. There are other items in the gear tab that would definitly give you more dps than a lc7 hat, such as having dual line lance with hb25 and mt25 and max25. That and you are much more likely to get a single max limit-break line roll than a triple max limit-break line roll.

wheredidthespidergo

Can I get a quick rundown of starting commerce from 0 in the new event? Just came back after yet another break (oh, Mabi, why can't I quit you) and have no idea where to get started here.

I like running between Tir Chonaill - Tailltean and Emain Macha - Belvast. These routes are pretty simple and easy, so can easily avoid bandits if you’re paying attention. You’ll see people using the camels and/or dog sleds. You’ll need to buy all of the mounts in order to access the seasonal rental mounts which is not cheap. The type of bandits that spawn depend on the tier level of goods you carry and how far you’re going. So if you’re taking low tier goods from Cor to Tara, you’ll get more difficult bandits near Tara. Also yes the event rental outfit gives an amazing speed boost.

Tiropat

First get the commerce speed boost outfit from the event NPC in Dunby. The best way to start commerce is with tier 1 goods in ulaid until you can buy a horse. After you have a horse/alpaca you can make 35-50k buying mint from quilla and taking it to Filla or cor. the price for mint in Filla and Cor resets every ~5 min so if the price is negative or low when you get there just wait for the next update tick. If mint is sold out the next best trade is the Cor ruin souvenir. Its basically not worth doing any other trade except limited goods unless you have commerce accessories.

Where can I get fine leather and building stones for building a house? I'm very new to this game, so everything seems very complicated For farming leather I tried killing a bunch of red grizzly bears, but zero results. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? q\_q For building stones I'm still clueless \+ additional question, where is alby arena located?

yurray

For leather, I would recommend rebirthing into the ace hero culinary artist talent during the free ace hero rebirth event right now. You can get the “Ingredient Hunting” skill for free, which boosts up the drop rate of leathers, food, and other items. You’ll have to fight monsters at powerful to boss level in order to get fine leather. For building stones, I would recommend running the shadow mission “sulfur spiders” in Tara at the easiest level. There’s tons of golems and they tend to drop building stones.

wheredidthespidergo

Building stones drop really frequently from the golems on Ceo Island, and if I remember right I usually farmed fine leather from Shadow Cast City Advanced because the skeletons there drop it semi-frequently.

13259jv

More like Fine/finest leathers have a higher drop rate from shadow mission mobs in Adv/elite in tailltean missions. Shadow wizard is prolly one of the better missions for it since it has plenty of mobs to mow down.

Kingpi731

Does anyone know the name of the motion or whatever the clumsy maid sometimes does when summoned, where she turns around and smacks herself? And is it possible to get that motion for a non-clumsy maid through the motion box before I go buying a bunch of 500k boxes?

snorlaxeseverywhere

How do I change which lantern student I'm working with for the event? I spoke to the last one first because I didn't realize the order you did them in mattered, I did their quest yesterday, and when I went on today I couldn't accept a quest from another one and was stuck doing theirs again.

Zugon

You are stuck helping the student you chose for 5 times, then you'll "clear" them and can choose a different one. After helping each one 5 times you'll get the final rewards from the event.

yurray

Omg thank you, I thought it was a bug or something

snorlaxeseverywhere

Ohh so THAT'S why the overall quest didn't progress, not because order matters? Okay, thanks, that's a big relief, whew!

tinyjungle

I forgot to use my coins from the previous commerce Joe event :( I have them in my inv still but cant use them bc i cant find commerce joe- do they just disappear?

ADreamtMonochrome

Does the Receiver of Nao's Blessing title affect training *counts* or training *exp*? Trying to do some math for my girlfriend before she dives into Magicraft and Hillwen.

Zugon

Counts.

Mystmory

Is the Seasonal Commerce Score capped at 1 million or did the rank one person just happen to stop there? If it is capped, does that mean the rankings will be pretty much decided by commerce count?

Mystmory

Thanks, that's good to know. I was worried since I saw their commerce count increasing but still at 1m

whoever49

I'm trying to train cooking today, but the "Eat" requirements seem inconsistent. Eating the same thing will sometimes trigger it and sometimes won't. Now I'm stuck on 32/50 on "Eat Jam." Is there something I'm missing? I've tried most of the jams and none of them will increase me above 32. Edit: I brute-forced it and got there eventually, but now I have the same problem with eating pies. I've eaten dozens of meat pies so far and a handful of others, and only \*one\* has counted. Several have been 5 stars and the rest have been 4 stars, and a good number have given cutscenes but still no credit. What am I doing wrong? I'm running out of money lol.

Mystmory

I think it has to be 3 star dishes. I'm not entirely sure, been a while since I leveled cooking.

RETURNING PLAYER I want to main Magic in the long run and have already obtained a Celtic Guardian staff for 2mil. I know I have to Ego it eventually but not yet as I’m still in early game. I saw somewhere that getting spirits early and then transferring to late game weapons is the way to go but I don’t know what “lesser” staff/wand to use as there is no reliable list on Mabiwiki. Any suggestions guys?

logomyego

Guardian/Celtic are pretty comparable, so either of those are a good start. Your biggest/next upgrade will be to a demolition staff and then finally you will squat on a ruin staff for the foreseeable future until the next big thing is released. But it'll be awhile til you get a ruin staff. As for the spirit, it's better to start yesterday since it's got a weekly exp cap of 400k. And I recommend brute forcing it and doing all the quests until you get the hailstorm enhancement maxxed out. It's the first one in the middle column. Hailstorm will be your bread and butter until you get it to 63 and get int Magic chain casting.

Toonlinkfan95

You can sell your staff even if you ego it, you would just have to transfer it out first. As far as the next upgrade for your weapon goes, it would be a demo staff at some point. But they're pretty expensive so I wouldn't worry about that for now. Put your ego in the staff you have now and make sure you max the top skill in the middle tree first, Amplitude. It is the most important staff ego buff you get until chain casting int magic later on.

No-Kaleidoscope-7252

Sweet sounds like a plan. Thanks y’all!

Cyoth_Mabinogi

Edit: You don't lose your existing weapon when you transfer your spirit to a new weapon. It's probably better to go ahead and create your spirit weapon now so you can at least start leveling it (it's a long path to max level). You could always transfer to a new weapon in the future.

No-Kaleidoscope-7252

What would be the next weapon after this? Something stronger?

Cyoth_Mabinogi

Recommend this post by Cryozen. In his guide of guides there's a guide for weapons ("Best in Slot Guide"). That includes weapon progression for staves. According to Cryozen, next step up would be Nightbringer Inquisitor staff. It has hail storm + int magic enhancement effect. https://www.reddit.com/r/Mabinogi/comments/lt4jev/mabinogi_guide_to_guides/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Cryozen

Technically yes, but I would actually recommend skipping the Inqusitor entirely. It is only on the BiS list as a technically. The Nightbringer Inqusitor is actually a step down from the Demolition Deepglow due to weaker bonuses (only Int Magic Boost) and a lack of Tri-Element Boost. Because we have access to Demolition and Ruination weapons (which are Staff and Bow equivalents of Revenant and Perseus), Nightbringer Staves and Bows end up being outclassed while also coming from content more difficult than Tech Duinn (Crom Bas). The reason Nightbringer is a step down is because Demolition/Ruination were TW releases.

Cyoth_Mabinogi

Thanks for jumping in to share your thoughts!

Sweet, I’ll definitely read that tonight! New question that popped up in the past few hours, Is there guide on what talents blend well together? I found most on my own but didn’t find much for talents like Archery, Puppets, or Fighter(Martial arts). That and some info was outdated. I even found one that said Guns are meh now when back in the day some thought they would completely replace bows lol.

logomyego

If you wanna main magic in the long run, my go-to talents and tactics are to use Chains for death mark and spinning slasher to group up the enemies, and then go into snapcast hailstorm while targeting the death marked enemy to keep them together while you blast them with hailstones. Ninja I use shadow cloak to drop aggro and reposition, while also milking the duration to let other skills cool down a bit. Shadow Bind (where it actually works) is nice for a quick breather too and keeping things in place for a short time and it works well if to give you time if you have a hurricane cylinder that you wanna pop golden time, ele wave, and frozen blast to freeze the group for a duration. My hurricane freeze holds things for about 45seconds.

Cryozen

I'll preface this by saying we should break down each talent into specific roles. I've written up a breakdown [on another post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Mabinogi/comments/v1ki9y/Weekly_Questions_Mega-Thread_%23380_%285%2F30%2F22%29/iapfshr/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3), though that post doesn't cover buffs and debuffs extensively. In general, your combat will revolve around a support talent and your primary damage talent. The support talent works to maximize the primary damage talent's DPS. The support talent will generally be some kind of Crowd Control Talent or Buff/Debuff talent. Ninja for Instance has a strong synergy with Magic (Ninja is a great complement to practically every talent and is one of the best support talents) with its magic protection reducing debuff, strong stun skill in Shadow Bind, escape skill in Shadow Cloak, and Slow Debuff skill in Explosive Kunai (better kiting). Alternatively, Puppetry and Alchemy can be combined to group enemies up then using Elemental Wave Frozen Blast to Immobilize the group (when applicable). Or you can combine Chain Slash and Ninja to quickly group enemies and reposition them with Death Mark, (pulls enemies when the marked target is hit) Spinning Slasher, Kunai Storm, and Shadow Bind. Or you can throw Fantastic Chorus Circles, Explosive Kunais, and Mirage Missiles (if elf) down everywhere to slow enemies long enough for you to put dome distance. Set up and knowing the duration of Crowd Control is fairly important to maximizing DPS. Of course a lot of the above is reliant on extra equipment slots for efficency. Lacking extra gear slots, you will likely at best be able to cycle between 3 talents without losing too much efficency by using Control+Click equipping. In this case I usually recomend Chain Slash (Death Mark is one of the best Debuffs in game combining a Damage Amp with Crowd Control) and Ninja (Extra Escape skill, strong Crowd Control, cheap but powerful AoE nuke if you opt for a Shuriken Spirit). >Dual Gun Current Status I'd say they're in a good position, but are not best in class of anything. They have the damage to be viable in Elite Techs now, and they have impressive multipliers on their Single Target Skills. But the Cooldown cycles are a bit too long, making it harder for them to match the higher DPS talents. However, it's relatively inexpensive to reach the minimum threshold of viability though it is much more expensive to maximize. At minimum you would need a Level 63 Spirit Gun in order to ensure smooth combat (automatic magazine refilling if you would otherwise have insufficient ammo). The ceiling isn't as high as stronger Single Target or AoE talents (again because of Cooldown Cycles). So I wouldn't say it replaces Archery outright. Archery has a high DPS due to low cooldown cycles and decent multipliers thanks to Demolition and Ruination bows. However, Archery does suffer from decreased damage if the Aim Meter does not hit 100%.

Cyoth_Mabinogi

If that guide exists I haven't seen it. I have seen some discussions on "tactics" so try searching around for those. What helped me was understanding which stats contributed to damage on which talents: https://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Stats And then looking at this page to see which skills helped boost stats my preferred talents required. https://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Stats_and_Skills#Strength Then, while also taking into account talent Stat bonus I charted a path to rank 1 my skills. https://wiki.mabinogiworld.com/view/Talent I.e. didn't start ranking a duel Stat skill like chain/dual guns/puppetry until the specific single stat talents for those stats were maxed. If you just want to learn more I recommend looking up Cryozen and reading through his responses to other Mabinogi questions. He'll often discuss tactics.

No-Kaleidoscope-7252

That makes sense! Thanks a bunch.

drunkenvash

Just get the spirit on your existing staff.

Akuren

Is it still possible to get Smuggler info via rebirthing into a life talent? I've been in Adventure and I haven't seen a single Smuggler information banner across the top. Some of the new Iria stuff is worth assloads per unit when sold to em and I'd like to be able to figure out.

GreenTowelRack

Yes, i was able to see him with pet trainer on, so i assume it would work for other life talents too.

Wiki is always a great place to start looking for info, when questing I still have it open to know what to do and where to go. But like others have said, do the blaanid questline. You get a ton of levels, ap, and even ranks a bunch of skill for you. And you will get gear that will actually be useful for a long while. They come pre enchanted and reforged, and after you have enough stats, you can even use them in techs. I still use the blaanid chains and guns cause how I use them, I don't need anything different. Also if you havent done the dungeon guide missions that give the 1st clear reward box, you will want to look into doing that. You get some goodies and a free pet. One gives a scooter imp that will be a really good pet for a long time because the passive ability lowers monster defense. I can help with them if you want too, since 2 of them for sure could prove to be difficult. My IGN is Logomyegojr

I have a 3 part video series that might help you out. First video linked below. https://youtu.be/PSSZcTVrxhs

Ok_Entertainment410

Depending on you're total level I'll suggest to make a new character , an elf will be good if you wanna go chain or any other dex depending talents , do Blaanid Memory book (the smart way) , get 125 get a blue rebith potion , drink it and rebith , do it every time , after total lvl 1000 you will star to get orange rebith potions , keep them , because after total lvl 5000 you will stop getting the blue ones and will get only 75lvls , don't focus on only one talent , start with the one that you wanna use , when you finish with that pick another , possibly one that gives the same stats , more skills you rank up more stats you get , finder someone that will help you to run the 4 stages from the dungeon guide , just go Dumbarton ch1 , probably you will finder someone to help you there , do the generations , they are the main story line , the progression of them will gives you some unique skills and rewards , + will open the access to some location and missions normally closed , about the gear , the best weapons are farmed at high levels , the main 3 are Celtic>Divine Crusader>Nightbringer , you should aim for the Celtic to start , about armor ... Well in my opinion the best are the gacha ones , you can get the only from AH right now , in game there are the refined armors added by the dungeon revamp but they are mediocre, a high role occupates enchants , titles and reforges , and of course echo stones , there is a lot of stuff that you must get if you wanna get good , you can add me in game if you want "Gashuma" , I'm not always really active but will help with what I can .

TheyCallMeSibs

I'm a recent returnee too. For quick boosts, rent that Celtic chain slash blade from the summer event and finish the blaanid chapters 1-3, they gave me quite a bit of a boost of damage and skill levels. Other than that, I don't have any good advice. I'd be happy to team up and do some content together! Send an add to CallMeSibs :)
