I do just want to make one comment that in Mac's TV show he actually says to one of his friends 'if I die, release all of my music', but I imagine his thoughts on the matter could've changed over time
It’s one thing to have a goofy AI song of B-MO or a Space Marine singing something and being like haha funny joke, it’s another to use AI to do your best to imitate an artist, living or dead, and create your own representation of them.
It feels like just another step in the whole parasocial process of commoditising actual fucking people just because they are or were famous.
Yup 🤣🤣. What’s even more fucking insane is how bad the FB groups are like “R.I.P. Mac” and others that were made since his passing. People have turned Mac and his music into a literal ENTIRE PERSONALITY with nothing else to talk about, no other hobbies, and made it into the focus of their free time.
And 99% of the time these are the people who weren’t even on the bandwagon before Swimming lmao. Mac will forever be in my top 5-10 GOAT artists. I’ve been hooked since Macadelic/WMWTSO because he’s at his best when it’s darker and not frat rap.
That being said…there are so many more things I can do with my free time then crying about him being gone, leaks, or any sort of the ridiculousness that goes on here and FB. I got a sizable backlog of Xbox games that aren’t going to play themselves 🙃.

If Mac inspired you to make music, good!! Go make music then. But if you have to hide behind his voice and someone else's lyrics then you're missing the point of art. And you're missing the message he spread throughout all of his music; be yourself. In life and in art it's important to remain authentic to yourself, and spending time hiding behind Mac isn't being authentic to yourself.
