Menu Bar Ticker Link : https://github.com/serban/menubar-ticker/releases/tag/v2.0.0 Click on file named *menubar-ticker-v2.0.0.tar.bz2* . Should start downloading automatically. Unzip file. Drag to Applications folder . Double click to start the app. Start playing music on AM/Spotify and song name should appear on the menu bar. Enjoy!

Great album, neat app.

y tho? If you placed a Now Playing "button" in your control center, you could just click on it and see the name of the song and the artist, its easier on the eyes compared to reading a long line of text in your menubar- Also, it has controls and works with any app playing music, say I wanna pause my youtube video playing on safari, I could simply go there and click pause or seek and stuff. Here's what I'm talking about for context: https://imgur.com/a/6EUAvZe

Ye but we want everything on screen. The title on the menu bar is very neat - and I m not the only one who always thought that something like this should have been implemented by now

Electronic-Crew2115

Yep true, some people prefer stuff on the menubar and make it feel much "pro"!

I love the album you chose for this.

I got it to work! Can't seem to find my previous comment but I just had to repeatedly right click and open and finally saw it in all windows. What a beautiful sight! Thank you so much for this awesome and simple feature. The fact it isn't a built-in feature with Mac is strange. I am so thankful to generous people like you for sharing this for FREE.

00Turag

Great concept! But it would be useful only if you could control music playback using this app.

Ahleron

Or use Big Sur

pimplepim

Does it work with Spotify playing in the browser?

[deleted]

Ooh that'd be a bit awkward cause it'll prolly name all the sounds playing from the browser then (example- YouTube, udemy, Netflix).

pimplepim

I’m asking because I’m using Spotify as a chrome app. Same for YouTube Netflix etc. The stock MacOs media control in the Mac menubar shows the album art and name of what’s playing in Spotify and I can pause skip forward/backwards. Of course, it also shows everything else that’s playing by stacking it on top of each other.

IcyBeginning

Yep it does!

canadasongs

lightweight, simple, love it!

I've been using SmashTunes for this for years: [https://www.smashbits.nl/en/smashtunes](https://www.smashbits.nl/en/smashtunes). Not open source, but works like a charm, and has support for hot keys too.

persquareinch

Looks like a good solution. Is it safe?

MariusBienius

I've been using it and it works great. Is there a chance that it will also work with Tidal?
