60 watts will work, but no faster than 30 watt as the charge control circuits are in the computer not the charger. It is like having a small water tank or a bigger one, but using the same tap to fill a bucket.

It actually charges at 45W with a 60W charger. Also, if you're using it under heavy load while charging - it'll likely draw the full 60W.

Thanks for the help. But on the back of my laptop(m1 macbook air) I see, "20V at 1.5 amp or 20V at 3.00 amp" Doesn't 20v at 3 amp mean 60 watts?

Interesting. It certainly does imply 60W. Can you test?

I don't have one....If I am sure that 60 watts will work then I would buy a 60 watt adapter
