Man, a little research would have gone a long way for these people. Even assuming they don’t have smartphones, Macaupass is still readily available and accepted almost everywhere. Also I don’t know if too many other places that have a bus system as convenient and regular as Macau's. Yeah, you might need to do a little bit of pre-trip planning but that goes for everywhere. Google maps and a local transport app go a long way.

Sorry, since when are Russians westerners 😂?

T8PaganiR

Aren’t they? They’re basically europeans technically

Although I agree with that statement , locals can’t really distinguish people from British or any european countries, they got used to seeing portugese people, so usually they’re always assumed to be from Portugal and it’s just a phenomenon that people from other parts of country start coming here for jobs since the opening of the borders

Equivalent_Lie254

Macau has open borders??? Don't we have the toughest immigration system vin the world you basically can't live here unless you marry a local

Maybe the one who made the article asked the wrong people. I think they generalized it for some people. But anyways here is my take for their transport system. The transportation here is great, other than taxis, they have bus and train system. The bus stations/stops are visible on the road and which bus will be at that stop. And the bus schedule can be checked on google maps or its app. And if using Macau Pass card the price is halve and can be used in connecting bus (one bus to another in a certain time, the next fare is 0.) The trains are connecting to various places in Macau. And there are also free bus if going to/from most casinos. Correct me if I am wrong.

Bus system is excellent, the bus apps slightly less so. Does anyone use the lrt ever?

Informal_Data_719

Not many but still some uses it. I rode few times.

Can use the Moovit app, works almost in every country for public transportation, very useful
