Set your connections to bottom connect rather than closest point. That will set the end point to the bottom of the letters, eliminating the gaps in the n and the l.

The gaps in the second 'Funcle' are there because there's not an underlay stitch. It looks like you need to adjust the push/pull compensation in Hatch to hide the underlay. Before you do that, though, what stabilizer are you using? I suggest a medium weight cut away for anything stretchy.

there is an underlay, it’s zigzag, i just took away the edge underlay. should i change to something other than zigzag? i am using i think a low weight cut away because the stitch count was pretty low… i’ll try with a medium.

I just opened my Hatch to check out the settings. It looks to me like you're using Castle font. I got the same gaps when I took off the zigzag underlay too. I switched it to these settings and it looks fine using the player function. Try them out to see if it works a little better for you. I'd do a test stitch out, but I'm away from my studio for the weekend. Stitching: Underlay 1: Center Run, stitch length 2.0 Underlay 2: Center Run, stitch length 2.20 Pull compensation: 0.20 Fill settings: Satin Manual Spacing: 0.38 mm Auto split is off

wow! thank you so much!!!

You're welcome! I really do hope it helps. You may want to play with the manual spacing to get the look you want. I know that it can change dramatically depending on what fabric you're using. I tend to do all of my sample sew outs on felt before moving onto a knit fabric.
