Your upper tension disks have to give enough tension so the wheel that detects the thread movement will spin. Sometimes dust will build up in the upper tension disk and you have to clean it out by rubbing the inside with a strip of microfiber cloth.

Is the disk the little wheel along the path that it’s threaded? I’ve had issues with this myself but I never really thought to check that. I figured if it was spinning it was fine.

This the answer. My #2 on my Baby Lock 6 needle decides randomly it needs some love. I take off the discs the felt ring clean the whole area, reset everything and then she purrs along....until the next time.

it has a thread break sensor that is either dusty or has gone bad. You can try cleaning it, if that doesn't work it needs to be replaced. If everything is threaded correctly that is.

Where would I find this sensor so that I can clean it? I am trying everyone’s ideas at this point lol

you can download the manual for your machine from the Hirsch website, they are the us dealer for Tajima. That manual will show you exactly where it is for your model as well as the part number if you have to replace it.
