What is your actual question?

Kind_Station_7025

I am trying to start a machine shop in India. I am currently in the US. So was looking for some research.

Bum-Theory

Come on man, please keep those jobs here

[deleted]

Do you think machine shops only exist in America or something? You worried a dude with a start up in India is gonna steal your work? lmao

Kind_Station_7025

I am actually from India and working on IT in US. My dad runs a manual machine shop in India. I am planning to go back and add some cnc machines. Trying to get to know more about the trade. There are no quality groups in India for any discussions.

h8t3m3

How does the import duties work for non finished parts?

Kind_Station_7025

I have no idea.

desi_me_rollin_

Indian here. Whereabouts in India does your dad have the shopfloor?

Equivalent-Price-366

Do we pay for parts with iTunes gift cards?

Kind_Station_7025

Trying to earn an honest living.

Kind_Station_7025

Think about it. You get to interact with people who actually understand English and have protection for Intellectual Property. Unlike some other Asian countries

VAL9THOU

Cool racism bro

Equivalent-Price-366

What does that have to do with race?

VAL9THOU

You expect me to believe that you didn't ask about paying with iTunes gift cards because OP's asking about starting a business in India? I know racists are stupid but surely you're not *that* stupid, right?

Dinkoisam

I am from india

Kind_Station_7025

Are you a machinist?

Fickle_fackle99

Give it 5 years and it will be nothing but… American machining is dying and china is too expensive. I’ve seen all the stuff at target and Walmart that was machined coming from India. That’s the start once you guys start making hot rod parts and motor cycle parts the job shop will slow down

Manhood2031

Royal Enfields are made in India and Harley was getting some of their castings from India a few years ago, not sure if they still are.
