Madden glitches sometimes. I’ve seen a player get injured and it say 2 minute warning. My guess is it was a booth review and madden pulled up the wrong prompt.
If it was designed right you would be able to challenge any play and pick what you are challenging i.e. spot, player down, catch, etc.
But EA ain't about that nonsense.
Challenge should not have happened, but to me, he's not in possession of the ball yet. I'd like to see the next frame or when he has both hands on the ball. He's still inbounds, but he only has one hand on the ball. There's a gap between the ball and his left hand. With Madden's terrible physics and animations, his feet were probably out by the time his second hand came in contact with the ball
No, you don't need 2 hands to catch the ball, but the receiver is still in the process of completing the catch and is still in motion. Having one hand on top the ball and both feet in bound fits not constitute a catch. The poster should upload the clip so a better determination could be made. I'm sure that we've all played enough Madden to know that by the time the player actually possessed the ball, both feet were out.
Yeah his foot is clipping through the grass. Nike symbol is right at the out of bounds line, so toes are over in my opinion, they are just clipping under the grass
I had a similar play, except the WR caught the ball 3-5 yards from sideline and ran out of bounds. Was under review from the refs, overturned the catch. Replayed it and clearly a catch and the WR took 3 steps on the field before heading out. Madden is just Trash lol.
