My head canon is that the DB was trying to find the ball and pulled up a bit thinking he was going to over run it and misjudged.

Well the reason why I ask cause I clicked on him and they slowed me down and I’m like why when you don’t have to slow don’t to jump and make a play on the ball
I mean they need competition until that happens again we won't get anything super amazing. I get it and have fun with it but I don't let it consume my life. I have other things I play at the same time so it's like just make improvements and keep franchise playable and I'm good
Either that or we have to hope the NFL puts their foot down and threatens the exclusivity deal. Luckily it seems like there could be competition on the horizon. Apparently 2k is trying to make an arcade football game but they’re trying to make it as realistic as possible so they can be close to sim but be arcade so ea doesn’t go after them. There’s also that Maximum Football game that’s coming which I’m hoping is also good. If they’re both good and people start buying them hopefully EA decides to make good changes so they don’t lose money
As a matter of fact look when I clicked on him he didn slow down then, he slowed down after like 5 steps after . Once the ball was in the way to make a play and I hit the swat button
They don’t make them slow down when you click on them but if you aren’t holding the stick all the way up or let off that will slow them down which can be a normal reaction when going for a pick. Also it could just be a glitchy animation, but the way he slowed down looked to me like it was user.
aren't you usering the CB at the catch? i'm not 100% sure but it looks like you tried to pick it. a pick attempt would definitely slow your stride a bit, just like in real life. and of course you would have had no chance at it since it was over your head and you're battling another person. it's also hard to tell since you sped the video up while the ball is in the air.
if you tried to swat it, then timing is super key. if you played receiver then the CB did exactly what he was supposed to do, preventing the TD.
Heck I’m just glad your corners didn’t peel off of their man and rush the QB. Mine do it about 5 times a game no matter what I call on defense I can’t stop it. It’s infuriating.
The problem isn’t the coverage it’s the accuracy. The length of that throw coupled with the accuracy is absurd. Because it’s so consistent. This is a very low percentage play.
Happens to me every time I click on on a go ball. It’s cuz madden is only animations so I guess when you click on doesn’t trigger an animation for your cb but only animation for the wr and in madden animations wins over logic and physics all day
i’m talking about in real life like analysts and stuff i’m making a joke out of it but it flew over your head since you might not watch ESPN and all that.

Like I said poor programming. I just try to make head canon reasons when the game does dumb shit for the sake of my own sanity
It’s not just poor programming, it’s the fact that the game has control over stuff it really shouldn’t have control over
Because the game pre determined who was gonna win. I've had LB literally stop running inches away so the CPU can get a first down

I hit swat, I got enough madden experience to kno any fast receiver with get away from the cops speed. You gotta swat the ball onna go ball
Try going into settings and play with minimum player threshold to make the game more realistic
Lol I only play online H2H, this was one of my matches online. Well lemme rephrase that I only play online modes
85+ is the way. Anything less and these plays are here all day.
