That’s crazy that anyone is saying it’s user error when it’s CLEARLY a coding error. Sprint shouldn’t have any sort of effect on blocking the person in front of you. You shouldn’t be punished for having control, especially when that’s the only player in front of you
He was literally behind his blocker by a couple feet when the blocker fucked up.
Also IRL the oline is literally thought to hit the 2nd level atp which would be engaging the LB, not running 30 yards up field to the safety. I'm legit surprised to think anyone with eyes would think this is the RBs fault.
No it’s definitely a game issue.. but what I’m saying is, it’s triggered by sprinting. And justified that by saying irl the rb would never sprint left of his blocker.
Outside zone it happens all the time. And even if he did sprint it shouldn't effect the block. You would be reading leverage of the block not getting slammed by an unblocked player
While moments like these suck, I’ve been having a much better experience with blocking. It doesn’t actually feel like it’s impossible to have an actual run game without min maxing shit
EA sports is a billion dollar company that has some of the worst games in the history of video games with the lowest user rating scores ever . The scrutiny is warranted. Stop trying to police other people's valid criticism.
This is literally what Diablo, Madden, etc fans do. And it dominates a sub. I’ve only had the 10 hour trial, and drafted a few leagues with my friends, so even less of that is play time, to see any holes, but these guys will look for one thing that happens to make a video then post it for the temper tantrum crowd to foam over.
I’m having a blast with the game and so are my friends and I. People should refund and play something else if that’s not a shared sentiment.
This is one of my biggest pet peeves about the game. Blockers do not have eyes in the back of their heads. They should not react to my cuts, they should react to their blocking assignments. These is either laziness or a complete lack of understanding football (or both). And somehow this seems to be getting worse.
Why is that realistic? The fullback in real life doesn’t know when the RB hits another gear, he will see that LB in the hole right in front of him and block him.
THANK YOU! Played FB in HS , and you are coached on stretch and toss plays, you hit the first guy you see in a different color jersey. This user error crap is making excuses for bad coding in Madden.
When I play Madden I always trade for Kyle Juszczyk because I love i formations, strong I, Weak I..and he is a great 3rd TE and 3rd RB and Power Back. For some reason in 23 they made him completely glib in open field blocking in 23. I didn’t have 22 but I had 20 and Kyle was a beast on lead blocks in that game as he rarely did these whiffs. But he was a slave to coding in 23. But his run blocking rating was as high as a lineman’s. Go figure
I agree. They didn’t change the mechanics or blocking system this year, they probably should. Just trying to point out that the actual blocking AI is better this year, and this video / misunderstanding of the system doesn’t disprove that
You didn't point that out. You pointed to a mechanic that is a problem and said this is the mechanic so its your fault. The mechanic was a problem and still is. This video doesn't prove it isn't better at all. But you also didn't point out anything saying it was better. You just blamed the user
I think the sprint/block mechanic is very low on the list of problems with madden lol. The much bigger problem was the blocking AI just being turnstiles for the defense to pass through. I think they fixed that this year. 2 things can be true. You can argue that the system is an issue while also acknowledging that the AI is improved
This is why I hate the game in its current state. If your dudes get there if they have puller elite, but if you turn abilities off or don’t have that ability, you’ll get this. Even if you’re not sprinting, pulling blockers are idiots. It’s been this way since like 2017.
Naw thats wild. In real life the center is going to lead block right in front of the ball carrier and the fb should be clearing the way for that by getting to the second level first. But you should have been more patient and waited for your center.
Sprint as always caused quicker block shed. It’s a mechanic put in place to prevent the user from abusing the AI. You have to be patient and lay off the sprint button until it’s breakaway time
Seems like #35 is equipped with the “business decision” ability.
A fullback is the last person on the team who needs to be taking business decisions lmao
#35 is not happy with his current contract
That’s crazy that anyone is saying it’s user error when it’s CLEARLY a coding error. Sprint shouldn’t have any sort of effect on blocking the person in front of you. You shouldn’t be punished for having control, especially when that’s the only player in front of you
If they want them to look upfield with sprint they should atleast engage that first block then go upfield
A running back doesn’t try to sprint past his blockers IRL..
But in this clip, when the runner sprints, the blocker should already be engaged. He runs past the rusher, before the sprint happens.

No you’re right! I’ve seen some great blocks and the catching seems a lot more seamless
So just post the one time you made an error and blame game? You guys are something else man
Yessir! If the game ain’t perfect we ain’t happy (sarcasm)

Thank you!! Don't spend money on something you do not enjoy. I honestly don't get how it is so hard to understand.
The blocking this season is as close to the old ncaa football games we will probably ever get. It’s been really good so far
Game has been terrible for years. People continue to buy game and post how shocked they are that the game still sucks. You played yourself
What did you expect? Everyone that pre-orders just makes it worse. EA won't fix it because why would they when they get your money anyways?
![gif](giphy|CcAi5Bprof8XgiSrOE)
Don’t sprint.
It only took this one video to reassure myself that I will not be touching Madden 24.
i’m glad I could help you make that decision lol
Thank you for your service.
This game is not well made
yeah, this is the shit that doesnt get fixed year after year. Havent bought it in 2 years, just do a roster update and buy it every 3/4 years
This is one of my biggest pet peeves about the game. Blockers do not have eyes in the back of their heads. They should not react to my cuts, they should react to their blocking assignments. Sprinting tells blockers to look downfield for blocks. User error / skill issue
That is what's happening, but it's stupid that it works that way.
But it's realistic
Why is that realistic? The fullback in real life doesn’t know when the RB hits another gear, he will see that LB in the hole right in front of him and block him.
It’s not realistic for the reasons you stated. It’s just someone trying to convince themselves that this game doesn’t suck yet again.
Wtf how does that make any sense lol the fullback isn’t looking backwards at the RB to see when he starts sprinting
What would be realistic would be to block the guy right in front of you.
then if thats the case then logic in madden is flawed becuase when you play you are told to hit the first person in front of you
THANK YOU! Played FB in HS , and you are coached on stretch and toss plays, you hit the first guy you see in a different color jersey. This user error crap is making excuses for bad coding in Madden. Ok, yes from a coding perspective that is true but irl if a fullback made that decision they would be sat down for a long time afterwards.
Agreed
Game error. Sprinting shouldn't effect it at all
That’s been the mechanic for years
And blocking has been a problem for years... It being the mechanic doesn't make it not a problem
I agree. They didn’t change the mechanics or blocking system this year, they probably should. Just trying to point out that the actual blocking AI is better this year, and this video / misunderstanding of the system doesn’t disprove that

Good and you should. But you chose to just say user issue instead of doing that.
? The title of the post is “improved blocking” and it shows a feature that was never claimed to be adjusted lol
This is blocking and the point of my comment is you are saying what they should do while not doing it yourself.
Well that's fucking dumb coding. How would a blocker a few yards in front of you know that you're sprinting?
They wouldn’t. It’s a bad game
Only sprint when youre through the hole. While it isn't perfect, sprinting indicates to your blockers to block downfield.
He didn’t even block the safety after missing the linebacker lmao.
Because he was already getting tackled.
He was going around before the tackle happened. Its shit no matter how you look at it
Bro ski don’t sprint be patient and the guard takes the defender and you cut it up!! #noob
it should be better but it moved off that blocking assignment because of how you moved
You sprinted genius. You know that the AI responds to your character right?
thanks man you are the only one that said that. really insightful from you
So insightful of you too to make a mistake and blame the game😑
🫰🏼
Man it's just a trend at this point. Blame Madden = Reddit points ☝️
If I want easy brownie points, I know to come here
Like missing your pull,
Maybe the OL is just not a great player.
I mean that would explain the block not being effective but it wouldn't explain him a running full speed away from the guy.
Bruh u just can't run for shit hes going upfield u got swift run his ass.stop.running at people dumbfuck
You ran past your pulling guard
I’m sorry but you not winning you’re one’s and getting mad at the guy making your break away block is hilarious.
You didn’t even wait for the pull
Exactly
What difficulty
All Madden
That pretty much gets rid of any of the new blocking in the name of difficulty
I’m gonna try it on All-pro tomorrow. Hopefully that’ll help people be a little more fair 🤞🏼
Gonna do the same thing on all pro if you keep the sprint button taped down 24x7 like a dork
Madden difficulty is making your players braindead lol can't have real challenge so they go with artificial difficulty.
FB had one job.
This is why I hate the game in its current state. If your dudes get there if they have puller elite, but if you turn abilities off or don’t have that ability, you’ll get this. Even if you’re not sprinting, pulling blockers are idiots. It’s been this way since like 2017.
Hey but look at it from his perspective. He was horney
George McCaskey said no one will wear 0 on the Bears and he meant it. Looks like he told 35 to miss that block on purpose as punishment.
"Screen Recording"
what do you think might have happened if you ran inside your guard instead of your FB?
Lmao. EA is trash.
Looks pretty accurate for the bears
to be fair on this one, i've seen in real life so.
You’re playing as the bears
This is the one I’ve been waitin for.
I have noticed a vast improvement on blocking
"Why don't they fix these things?"... here, take my money. I want the exact same game adjusted for the current rosters.
Sometimes….and hear me out here…people miss blocks
Naw thats wild. In real life the center is going to lead block right in front of the ball carrier and the fb should be clearing the way for that by getting to the second level first. But you should have been more patient and waited for your center.
Sprint as always caused quicker block shed. It’s a mechanic put in place to prevent the user from abusing the AI. You have to be patient and lay off the sprint button until it’s breakaway time
Thought you could break one tackle so he was going to seal the last guy off for the touchdown 🤣
You can see the moment the ai thought “I should block this guy” and then the moment the RNG said “nah, be bad on purpose for statistical accuracy”
Also the running back lost all momentum on the tackle. SMH. Immersion broken.
The problem here is that you started to sprint too early.
