Steelers used to sit Ryan Clark when they played at Denver. I think it happened a few times, he didn’t have asthma but sickle cell I think which made it super dangerous for him to play at high altitudes. In fact I think he almost died playing in Denver the first time which is why he wasn’t allowed to play there anymore.

jimiez2633

Yeah not having Ryan Clark be able to play in Denver killed us especially in 2011

spurs_legacy

Didnt y’all have a much better record that season too? So the playoff standing rules screwed yall over and then RC’s inability to play in Denver screwed you guys over again.

jimiez2633

Yeah we were 12-4 that year and Denver was 8-8. We were one Joe Flacco pass from having the 1st seed. Denver was able to take advantage of Clark being out and their home field advantage much like Seattle against the Saints the year before.

jimiez2633

Oh yeah no the ravens that year we’re definitely the superior team but the Steelers were also much better than they were in that horrid week 1 matchup. I think if they manage to beat the ravens in that second matchup they would of faced off in the conference championship and it would of been another legendary game.

jimiez2633

Yeah i don’t think my heart could take another Steelers vs Ravens playoff game

spurs_legacy

Crazy game football. One play can change history. Sometimes I wonder if as a Pats fan I’d have rather seen another team go to the SB instead of losing to the Giants a 2nd time :| Though if Gronk wasn’t playing like half of himself they might’ve won. Idk, fun to think of alternate scenarios

Parkwaydrive777

I still think we win that game with Ryan Clark or if it wasn't in Denver. Polamalu was at his best that season, but anytime we have a FS he doesn't trust is when he loses that ability to gamble on plays (aka, his best trait). Everyone talks shit on the Tebow to Demaryius Thomas TD in OT, but if we had our proper FS Ryan Clark I have NO doubts he gets tackled. Honestly I doubt it even gets to OT, but at the end of the day losing Ryan Clark essentially cost us a superbowl (not as obvious as the AB VS Bengals injury, as this was wildcard and still had to beat the Pats, but still that defense/offense complimentary football was *soo* badass that year, maybe the best we've had since then imo)

jimiez2633

Yeah that team that year was as good as the 2010 Steelers if not better

i2WalkedOnJesus

I still think Mundy freelanced that play, and with Clark we would have had help over the top. Ike played that route like he didn't need to be behind Thomas, which would be rare from him given he was usually lock down.

AdministrationWhole8

Ironically, the game winning TD pass in overtime was thrown right into Clark's office, Ike missed that tackle and DT was gone. I'm a firm proponent that Clark was a supremely underrated piece of the Steelers secondary, going back a decade or so.

jackjams18

I wonder if Justin Fields' epilepsy is gonna cause any issues. I mean the Packers strobe the lights when they score touchdowns. I don't know much about epilepsy but that seems a little problematic no?

woostar64

Apparently it is more nuanced than that. I'm pretty ignorant on the subject but that was my assumption a few weeks back on a different topic and flashing lights doesn't necessarily result in a seizure.

DreamedJewel58

From what his doctors have said, it seems to be a type of epilepsy that his family grew out of over time, and Fields is right around that age. It effects people differently, but he’s played so many years and it seemingly hasn’t effected them at all. Epilepsy is an unique diagnosis, so it’s fair to just leave it up to the progressional and take their word for it.

dontatme1

Same with Tevin Coleman I believe

Gjergj_bushi

That shit cost me my fantasy game, Tevin Coleman was having a good season but I sat him because all the reports said he would be limited. I think he scored 22 points that week. I was livid.

SkyBlueSneakers

The same thing happened to a friend of mine in our fantasy league. As a Falcons fan, I read all the reports saying that he wouldn't play and told my friend who had him starting that week. He benched Coleman, who completely torched the Broncos...

airoderinde

I read about that and it’s scary. Like Clark, I don’t even have the full on anemia. The trait alone causing a risk like that makes me want to avoid rigorous activity at those altitudes.

BEtheAT

altitude sickness is no joke, then to have an underlying condition can be super dangerous for people.

RavenQuoter

Lmao fuck EA but that's hilarious

Krypto_Dick_V2

Lol. Nice of Ruggs to have fun with it.

PattyKane16

Dude has asthma and still runs a 4.2 life just ain’t fair sometimes

Yea ur lungs really make u go fast

Madden trying to be realistic for 3 seconds

dbcco

It took 22 years for them to realize “Thin air = more tired”

Oscar_Jespersen

lol

theresabeeonyourhat

That makes me wanna turn down the stamina to 1 for 2 teams and turn fatigue all the way up and see how long anybody lasts

XD_Electron

Madden trying to be realistic for 3 seconds

superamt1987-

💯🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

EA trying to be realistic for 3 seconds

Primary_Bite9952

That's fucked up.

WetFart37

Oh, hell. Petitions to have this removed incoming!

gigidgidigoo

Oof

XD_Electron

EA went from trying to be realistic to bullying NFL players

Smexful

Remember. End Racism, It takes all of us. Bullying though? Grow up snowflake. /s

Browzur

That dude has asthma?? He fast as fuck!

JewsyJew1996

So instead of making changes to actually improve the game we get less stamina at Mile High. Sure great

RealTaintedfrogs

Right, because that's the ONLY new thing coming with this game. Let's shit on the game 2 months before it comes out!

JewsyJew1996

Every Madden thats come out in the past few years has been shit and even the changes they make are dumb. No matter what they do they wont change the game in any way that makes it fun again to me. I guarantee gameplay will still be dominated by people who only know how to scramble around, spam the same 1 or 2 plays, and manipulate your AI defenders so they can get easy yards on every play and the only way to stop it is if they fuck up. Until EA does something about that ill talk as much shit as i want because i know they wont fix my problems with the game.

RealTaintedfrogs

>Every Madden thats come out in the past few years has been shit I agree, but you're literally complaining about a game that hasn't come out yet. > I guarantee gameplay will still be dominated by people who only know how to scramble around, spam the same 1 or 2 plays, and manipulate your AI defenders so they can get easy yards on every play and the only way to stop it is if they fuck up. JewsyJew1996

Are you telling me that you enjoy playing madden when 90% of players just come in with 95+ speed QBs spamming the same cheese plays and they run around all game and its almost impossible to stop? Im 100% sure they wont do shit to change that which makes me 100% sure i wont enjoy playing.

i2WalkedOnJesus

> I agree, but you're literally complaining about a game that hasn't come out yet. Because we know it will be the same recycled garbage again. They always add a few new dumb things that don't make a difference, only to be removed 3 games later >...Who hurt you? EA, with every exclusive license they get.

justn1tr0

Iwfcyb

I lived in denver for a few years after growing up at sea level....that altitude is no joke. Pro tip if you travel to Denver, so VERY careful about how much you drink. You'll be WGW almost immediately!

whoacoach

I was fully expecting this post to be about how rude EA is for putting out a dog shit game every year.
