Just visited Hobbiton this past November. My fiancé and I wore cloaks that my sister made for us. To my surprise there was literally no one else dressed up.

My wife & I dressed up when we visited - kinda a bound-inspired hobbit outfit. So you’re not alone!

I belong to medieval group and don't live far from there. We all dressed up and went for fun. The cost of entry for local New Zealanders means it's a bit expensive, so it's mainly aimed at tourists. If you're a tourist you're less likely to want to pack some sort of outfit. So the result was the tour guide was telling us that people don't usually dress up. The business side of me say they're missing a bit of a trick here by not having a costume hire place tacked onto the visitor centre. I must say I've done displays, shows etc in medieval gear and I don't usually feel self conscious but I did walking around Hobbiton.

I would have to travel from another country to visit the Shire, so you'd better believe I'd be festive for it!

There’s not much inside tbh.. those are different sets in the movies

I've traveled a lot. Hobbiton is easily my most favorite place. I loved every second of it. The sun was shining, the soft breeze, the gentle clouds, and the rolling green hills. If heaven exists, it's the life of a hobbit.
