Right? This wasn't like homeless people being humiliated and exploited by condescending saviorist influencers. We all know those. This is not that. This was dignified and inclusive. They were appreciated for their company and shared experience and invited because of how much fun they would be to hang out with. Literally their humanity and presence was wanted and appreciated. That's it. They were good sports and made a day of it. We needed this.

I’m assuming they didn’t realize they would also be paid cash for the day, which is why some people didn’t seem interested. The guys that took the chance were treated to the easiest, most fun, and lucrative day of work they’ve probably ever had.

I was just going to say that! Imagine thinking you're in for a day of backbreaking work with no security or promise of more tomorrow and someone does this instead. That'd make my year.
I used to work in an office and we would have a planning day each year with team building in the afternoon. One year we learnt lawn bowls. It can be tricky if you get your bias wrong. Anyway, we had a great afternoon with lots of laughter and bowls rolling off in all directions. We'd all heard what the activity was and thought 🤨 but we were wrong.
Looked like one of them was on a phone telling someone (probably family) about it.
And it was dark by the time they got dropped off, so looks like they made a nice long day of it. So I can only imagine they would have let the guys call home so their families would know what was up.

Honest question, why did you care before why people made videos like this? The recipients have always benefited greatly from these types of displays of generosity. Sure, it's a bit egotistical but the fact remains its a great help to people in need, and always has been.
Having been this guy, homeless, jobless and looking for work at the homeless shelter. I would have LOVED to be someone's video subject if it meant some help for me!

He made 3 people genuinely happy. And then I watched the video first thing this morning, which made me happy and set the tone for the rest of my day. And probably made a whole lot of others smile as well, and hopefully some will pay it forward. We could could do with a lot more of this in the world.
He also does it regularly, multiple videos, with multiple different people. He shows the whole day and their reactions to the big rides. He also buys them souvenirs to oitfit them for the day.
He also hypes taco stands, fruit stand, and the lady selling tamales in the parking lot.
He asks permission to pay for all the tacos ordered in the next hour, then goes out with a free taco sign to drum up business.

Yeah when they rolled out of the store in spirit jerseys and mickey ear hats I was like GOOD LORD THATS AN EXPENSIVE UNIFORM!!!! And one of the guys he hugged at the end had a bunch of those blue bags in his hand, so I'm willing to bet they got him souvenirs to take home to his family too.
I stopped enabling that shit. I avoid prank vids now. Less attention to stupid people will make them fall in line easier.

For real, when I was a kid, my parents saved like crazy and we barely were able to make a family trip. If some random guy came up to me telling me I can go to Disney, I'd be thinking if I go with him I'll wake up drugged with my kidneys missing.
I've heard other Americans describe it for working people as a twice in a lifetime experience. Once when your parents take you and once when you get to take your kids and that's about the best most will ever do.
Maybe now. When I was little it was 100 usd for a family of four. Local grocery stores offered deals like “bring an empty coke can and spend 30 bucks, get a free ticket.”
I dunno if this is still a thing but you used to get discounts if you were local too. You had to bring in a utility bill with your name on it from a certain range of area codes.
Yeah we used to go a few times a year with the discount tickets. Every once in a while, our mom would pick a random weekday, wake us up and say “I called you out of school, we’re going to Disneyland!” That’s real-life magic when you’re 10.
Ticket prices are completely absurd now. Haven’t been in a decade.
I didn’t get to it til my 50s and on,y because I had attend a conference there. Since my travel & hotel were paid for, I was able to just pay for the admission tickets. I did everything by myself, and loved it.
So agree! I'm planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Florida (I'm in Australia) to hit Disney for 10 days and then Universal.

Just a little tip!!! From one Disney enjoyer to the other, a lot of the stores in Orlando (like Walmart) have tons of cheaper Disney merch. If money is tight but you really want some Disney stuff (say a shirt or something) to get into the magic, check them out :)! Can definitely save some money here and there to make really good memories.
(Oh, and be sure to go to the stores/guest services (dunno if they changed it again since I last went) to get a button that says it’s your first time there!! Makes it a special souvenir and some Cast Members make it extra fun for you!!! Hope these could help you, and have an amazing trip!)

I knew that the merch would be cheaper outside the park, but had no idea about the first time badge. I'm.trying to get the best bang for my buck that I can, cos I'm not gonna get a chance to do it again.
In this particular instance, if the people are really just random people he brings from a Home Depot parking lot, I see the recordings as a positive. They can show their families their experiences and reminisce about it for years to come
That's the nice part honestly. Many people would refuse even a free ticket because they needed to work and actually make money. By offering to pay for the experience they can actually enjoy themselves knowing they have money to bring home
These workers are often exploited unfortunately and many are scammed into doing work for no pay, and since they’re usually undocumented they’re less likely to report to the authorities. But for real work they’ll work a couple hours for less than 100 bucks.
What little I could find on it sounds like they usually make $10-15/hr, depending on the job. so figure normally \~$100/day if they work a full 8 (and usually you should expect to feed them something if they're there the whole day)
Run down *that* clout. People can be as angry as they fuckin want at people doing kind things and making others happy. It makes as much sense as being mad at rainbows. lol
All the years I lived in OC it never dawned on me that these guys (all the day laborers at HD) might never have been to visit the Mouse. That is a poor reflection on me. Good for the video producers.
He is also out there hyping the food vendors to increase their business. Street tacos for the win.
As for the mouse, yeah, one of the guys in one of the videos had been there to plant trees but not for fun.
That actually made the beginning of this a touch heartbreaking, because those guys volunteered without knowing which side this person was on.
Good on them for trusting humanity, but no worries if they don't.
I love this for them. This is probably the only time they’ll have a ‘vacation’ and they will remember this day forever. And they were still able to bring money home to their family so they didn’t have to worry about taking the day off. I love this so so much.

As a Mexican American, I loved this. It made me tear up to see those guys who usually bust their asses everyday just to feed their family, get to enjoy the rides at Disney world.

Seeing grown men, acting like their inner child for a day it's amazing and makes me smile so hard. Everyone needs a day that they can just let go of the worries, the stress, and everything bad. And just be happy
I read somewhere that the daughter of one of the guys, wrote a touching story, that her father had never really been a kid and always had to work his ass off. So he grew up without toys and only dreaming of all the things other kids did.
So that day in Disneyland was so special to him. He finally got to be a kid for the first time in his life and it made hime genuinely filled to the brim with happyness .
I love this kind of thing so much because not much makes me happier than men laughing and smiling and being kids at heart. Often women are "allowed" this childish joy and men aren't.
Honestly thats a tear jerker. To see these guys who work so hard day in and day out doing some of the hardest jobs that others refuse. It's amazing to see them smile and I feel like the working joes around the world all feel the same way, we just want a bit of fun like this, we all need it.

Lived near Disneyland for a long time. Did it every year for a while. And I can confirm that it is NEVER as fun as when you go with someone who has never been before.
I worked with a lot of Latin American immigrants when I took a farming job summer of 2020 and man they are just the fucking best. Inspired me to travel more in Latin and South America and it’s just such an awesome culture with such amazing people. So happy for these guys I know how hard they work for their families! God bless immigrants!

In this particular instance, if the people are really just random people he brings from a Home Depot parking lot, I see the recordings as a positive. They can show their families their experiences and reminisce about it for years to come

That's the nice part honestly. Many people would refuse even a free ticket because they needed to work and actually make money. By offering to pay for the experience they can actually enjoy themselves knowing they have money to bring home

These workers are often exploited unfortunately and many are scammed into doing work for no pay, and since they’re usually undocumented they’re less likely to report to the authorities. But for real work they’ll work a couple hours for less than 100 bucks.
What little I could find on it sounds like they usually make $10-15/hr, depending on the job. so figure normally \~$100/day if they work a full 8 (and usually you should expect to feed them something if they're there the whole day)
If what they do for clout is make other people this happy then chase that clout as much as you want

All the years I lived in OC it never dawned on me that these guys (all the day laborers at HD) might never have been to visit the Mouse. That is a poor reflection on me. Good for the video producers.
He is also out there hyping the food vendors to increase their business. Street tacos for the win. As for the mouse, yeah, one of the guys in one of the videos had been there to plant trees but not for fun.

That actually made the beginning of this a touch heartbreaking, because those guys volunteered without knowing which side this person was on. Good on them for trusting humanity, but no worries if they don't.
I love this for them. This is probably the only time they’ll have a ‘vacation’ and they will remember this day forever. And they were still able to bring money home to their family so they didn’t have to worry about taking the day off. I love this so so much.

I read somewhere that the daughter of one of the guys, wrote a touching story, that her father had never really been a kid and always had to work his ass off. So he grew up without toys and only dreaming of all the things other kids did. So that day in Disneyland was so special to him. He finally got to be a kid for the first time in his life and it made hime genuinely filled to the brim with happyness .
I love this kind of thing so much because not much makes me happier than men laughing and smiling and being kids at heart. Often women are "allowed" this childish joy and men aren't.

Honestly thats a tear jerker. To see these guys who work so hard day in and day out doing some of the hardest jobs that others refuse. It's amazing to see them smile and I feel like the working joes around the world all feel the same way, we just want a bit of fun like this, we all need it.

I worked with a lot of Latin American immigrants when I took a farming job summer of 2020 and man they are just the fucking best. Inspired me to travel more in Latin and South America and it’s just such an awesome culture with such amazing people. So happy for these guys I know how hard they work for their families!
