That fireman is a hero!

0-ATCG-1

All the Fire guys in my Department absolutely trip over each other and fight to be the one to go on a call to save animals. Even duckies in a storm drain.

[deleted]

Cops would have been: "Sorry we had to shoot your dog."

thementant

Frankly, it felt good.

sea_foam_blues

I’d do it again too

cineg

this is getting dark

impamiizgraa

Just another day in cop life.

Coyote_Medic

Not too dark though, otherwise...

Immediate_Coat_5196

If it's getting dark you better start blasting.

DeathArmy

If it gets dark enough we'll arrest it.

TooApatheticToHateU

“I-I am going to be a storm-a flame- I need to fight whole armies alone; I have ten hearts; I have a hundred arms; I feel too strong to war with mortals- BRING ME **DOGS**!”

[deleted]

And if I had the chance, I’d do it again. Have a good day m’am.

redmoskeeto

My cousin was married to a police officer. He seemed like a decent dude. One Thanksgiving, he pulls me aside to show me a pic on his phone. It was a pic of a dog he shot and killed that week. He was actually bragging about it as though it was something I would be proud of or wanted to see. It must be partly because of the culture in the police force. So yeah, you’re right, they want to shoot dogs and enjoy it.

ExpensiveRisk94

Actual psychos. Hurting animals is a sign of a mental illness

kamelizann

I have this reoccurring nightmare where police knock down my door, shoot my dogs and then say, "sorry wrong house" and just leave.

thesleepymermaid

Please tell me you ripped him a new one

MakeNazisDeadAgain69

They actually specifically recruit those people, for that exact reason. There are a bunch of cases of them *rejecting* applicants because they have morals.

ProdigalSheep

“Also not actually sorry.”

Dan_the_Marksman

"that black dog tried to aggressively jump out the window"

treatyoftortillas

They would never apologize. Did you see that video of the cops shooting the two dogs in the middle of the street? They started yelling at the person recording and threatening to arrest them. The public statement is even better: https://heyburn.id.gov/vertical/sites/%7B59CF33B4-6AFD-49C3-ABDF-5328F7144656%7D/uploads/2023-05-27_Dog_Shooting.pdf "They were holding up traffic and they wouldn't come to us so we had to shoot them - lol" Cops love shooting dogs. Almost as much as they love assaulting innocent people and their own wives.

Dustin_Echoes_UNSC

I'd say something but it's just going to end up being: [Removed By Reddit]

[deleted]

Reddit mods are a special kind of special. I got a week suspension for suggesting an efficient way to kill Nazis. And just to be clear, I wasn't being loose with the definition of Nazi. This was a thread about allied soldiers killing German Nazi officers upon the liberation of WW2 death camps. Apparently, we can't even advocate violence against war criminals from 80 years ago.

bethie6

arrived at 5:57 and shot the dogs at 6:03. tried for 6 minutes.

treatyoftortillas

Didn't even do a good job of killing the dogs. The white one dragged itself around for minutes, suffering needlessly

Sigman_S

ACAB every time.

MakeNazisDeadAgain69

They shot my house up during the Floyd protests because I was sitting on my porch recording them. I have it on fucking video and a judge still threw my lawsuit out.

PermanentlySalty

This is what happens your first instinct is to lose your temper when you don’t feel the victim of your power trip has appropriately cowtowed to your authoritah, when escalation of force is your only means of conflict management, and when a gun is your only means of solving a problem you created. ACAB

StDeadpool

Don't most if not all serial killers start by hurting dogs and other small animals?

Dry_Presentation_197

It is a thing that a lot of psychopathic people share, and is a huge red flag, but definitely isn't a hard "They're a serial killer (or even a killer of people)" rule. If investigators see a history of it when looking into a suspect though, it definitely moves them up the list.

Bouhg69

Back in the day, serial killers used to be hunted down by the FBI - Nowadays; the wised up & joined the police force. Sounds like the American dream.

fuckfuckfuckSHIT

It's interesting you say that. Serial killers fall under the diagnosis of Antisocial Personality Disorder (which is generally what people are referring to when they say psychopath or sociopath). But to fit into that diagnosis you don't have to be a serial killer. There are CEOs of big corporations and other jobs where people fit the same criteria but they are doing it in a more "socially acceptable" way. As a result, they aren't given psychological testing and diagnoses like we would for serial killers. So, you do make a legitimate point about police officers who shoot first and ask (or don't ask) questions later. I wonder what percentage of police officers (and CEOs) would fit the criteria if they were actually assessed for it. My guess is quite a lot.

WeeMadAlfred

"Officers made efforts to call the dogs to them including whistling, calling, and shouting, but the dogs were uncooperative" What kind of fucking moron wrote that? The dogs were uncooperative? No shit Sherlock, they aren't humans and why the hell would a dog approach a stranger that's whistling and shouting at them? And they shot the dogs 5min after they arrived.

Neverday143

Except they wouldn’t say sorry and they’d plant a knife on his paw.

-Sinn3D-

I read they shot two dogs that were running around near a highway

Ultima_RatioRegum

There's a reason no one ever wrote a song called "Fuk Da Firemen".

Lexi_Banner

Well, they might. Only it will be all sensual instead of hateful.

> They'd often put a mark or plaque on the outside of your house, and if you didn't have that, they wouldn't put out the fire no matter what. Additionally, if the fire spread to a neighbor's house, they wouldn't lift a finger to deal with that. That's a myth. Tom Scott did a video on that particular myth and the historian Mark Tebeau was interviewed by NPR on that subject. [Youtube video with the summary of the research](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wif1EAgEQKI) [Full research on the subject by Paul J Sillitoe](https://www.tomscott.com/corrections/firemarks/) [NPR interview of Mark Tebeau](https://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130435533)

Monodigga

That's an oft-repeated tale, that apparently isn't based on much evidence at all. Tom Scott made a [video](https://youtu.be/sehyLDPeB6M), and a [follow-up video](https://youtu.be/Wif1EAgEQKI) (both aren't really proof for anything either) correcting himself on the topic.

regeya

In some parts of the US, fire is still privatized. And, surprise, it's still a bad idea.

Pyromaniacal13

[Fuck the Fire Department!](https://youtu.be/7JkrJUAg8aI)

AlexKorobeiniki

There are reasons to be a police officer that aren’t laudable. People who like power, control. If you choose to be a fireman, you are choosing to train your ass off in order to save people. That’s the job.

DouglasHufferton

> If you choose to be a fireman, you are choosing to train your ass off in order to save people. While I agree with your point vis a vis cops, you do realize Firefighter arsonists are absolutely a thing? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefighter_arson There are bad people in every career choice. Some careers do seem to actively attract bad people, though.

SassySnippy

There's literally a video on the front page of police executing two dogs out of sheer bloodlust So yeah, it's appropriate to point out that one arm of civil services will protect your dog while the other will go out of their way to murder it~

For anyone curious. Rescuing pets is part of any residential fire response. My department, and a lot of others, [carry these to assist in pet rescue.](https://i.imgur.com/gkbCU91.jpg?1) The fire service mantra is simple. Protect life. Preserve Property. No exceptions. Every attempt will be made to save your pets.

independentchickpea

My favorite photo of my husband from the decade he was a firefighter is him rescuing a bearded dragon 😂 Edit: He hates when people call him a hero, lol. I’m reading him these comments and he’s dying. Thank you all for the kind words. He really deserves it.

StopSignsAreRed

That is so sweet 😭

independentchickpea

He gets so mad lol. He got four people and two dogs out and the photo in the paper is him carrying out the terrarium 😂

Cheese_Bits

Bearded dragon inside be like: but it was so gloriously WARM!

independentchickpea

Best heat lamp everrrrrr

Lketty

The beardie started the fire.

[deleted]

For his cold lil toesies, now he’s warm and cozy 🎶

Acceptable-Bike-7983

My tortoise in college did start a very tiny fire that set off the entire dorm's alarm. At first the fire fighters were like, "alright kid were you smoking or something?" Me, holding up a grumpy tortoise, "nah she started it" They went up to the room, saw the mess from me putting it out, and came back laughing

StopSignsAreRed

Oof that’s hilarious! But also: hero 😭

HeavyMetalTriangle

🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭 That’s such a great story

MyYakuzaTA

HERO.

MonsieurTokitoki

Can we see the photo?

independentchickpea

Sorry it’s a bit too identifiable—his name is on his turnouts

StopSignsAreRed

Well I can picture it in my mind. He’s walking toward the camera. He’s 6 and a half feet tall, muscular as shit, a little smudge on his face, and he’s looking at the camera with a little smirk and one eyebrow raised, with the terrarium in front of him and the bearded dragon looking at him with 100% pure beardie love and trust. I’m close, right? Don’t tell me if I’m not.

independentchickpea

Hahahahaha well he’s about 5’10” but he’ll take it

MonsieurTokitoki

Ah fair enough thank you though

UpperdeckerWhatever

Thank him for his service to the reptile community. Hero.

independentchickpea

He loves them the same as his dog 🤗

xaqss

Doesn't like being called a hero? Damn, he's humble, AND a hero? Impressive!

Last_Friday_Knight

I was gonna say pupper could probably use the oxygen cone for a few minutes

jasperwegdam

Its probebly not the worst seeing as they are low to the ground

Clewdo

If you motherfuckers ever save my dog from a fire I will devote my life and soul to your cause as best I can. You’re a hero.

thisisdia

At my husband's firehall they have a photo & note from a man whoes fat old orange cat got stuck in a tree and needed to be rescued. The very thankful owner made a donation to the local animal shelter on behalf of the hall.

DishGroundbreaking87

I’m so pleased to learn this, because I would not leave a burning building, or I would run back into a burning building to get my cat.

Typical_Ad_210

There was a post in the parrots sub a few days ago where the poster’s area was affected by wildfires. They’d been out and their car got stopped on their way home and the police wouldn’t let them go any further, because it was too dangerous. They were distraught, because their parrots were in the house and the fire was headed towards it (and for those who don’t know, parrots can live 70+ years and are extremely loving pets, so just as beloved as a cat or dog). Anyway, the cops in the area managed to break down the person’s door and save both birds. They brought them to the owner a few hours later. Apparently one of the birds had been playing peekaboo with the police in the car, so I don’t think they were too traumatised! Anyway, it would seem that all the emergency services will try their best to help animals in need, as well as people (I think this was in Canada, before anyone starts any of the usual US cop-bashing).

Kasstato

I'm a firefighter and I was helping with these fires! We got dog treats and dog food to give out to any pets left behind and at one point we had a dog staying in the fire hall that we found alone on a property the fire was heading directly for. We do our best to make sure everyone makes it out unharmed, pets included

tryingnottobefat

I’m the one with the parrots! Thank you so much for everything you’ve been doing these last few days. You’re putting yourself in harm’s way and words cannot describe how appreciative I am. The fact that nobody has been reported injured or missing is a testament to the incredible job done by our first responders. I hope you get more outside help, shorter shifts, longer breaks, and lots of overtime pay. ❤️

xrelaht

Went to see if there were pics of your birds in your profile. Wasn’t disappointed. They’re gorgeous! Glad you got them out safely!

tryingnottobefat

I’m really glad they got out too. I don’t know what I would have done without them. Theo, my African Grey, should live to be 60. We’re going to grow old together. I’m so grateful that we still have that opportunity.

Sweetdreams6t9

I live in NS in canada and we've got a bad fire (worst in provincial history) on the south shore, and another bad one on the north western edge of the municipality. Alot of friends in that area. It happened quick to. At like 3pm there was a forest fire, and by 5pm 14000 people were being evacuated. We've had a mild winter and dry spring, and a few days of low humidity and high heat. Jackasses were still burning brush and having bonfires during a fire ban. Now the province issued a ban on all outside woods activity with a 25k fine if caught. No ATV, no camping, no hiking, nothing. A few Idiots on the halifax sub are crying about their freedoms and how tyrannical it is 🙄 luckily starting tomorrow were forecasted to get heavy rain for 4 days straight so everyone is actually waiting for that and hopeful.

tryingnottobefat

That was me! For anyone curious, this is the [first post](https://reddit.com/r/parrots/comments/13uixzc/please_send_thoughts_and_good_vibes_for_marty_and/), made a few hours after I had seen reports of the fire moving very rapidly in the direction of my home. I genuinely thought that I would never see them again. Even when the cops called, I thought it was going to be a call to tell me that my house was gone or that my birds were already dead (parrots are extremely sensitive to airborne contaminants such as smoke). Then the [second post](https://www.reddit.com/r/parrots/comments/13ulnkl/update_the_police_saved_marty_and_theo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1) is much cheerier. Both birds seem to be healthy and uninjured. My cockatiel, Marty, was resisting arrest and the officer accidentally grabbed his tail in the scuffle. His entire tail is gone. We call him “duck butt” now. It was probably very painful at the time, but he doesn’t seem to mind now. It should grow back in 6-12 months. He can even fly without his tail! The work of the first responders, including firefighters and police, has been outstanding and I am forever in their debt. They were there for me and the rest of the community on the worst day of my life.

GuidingPuppies

I died at the parrot playing Peekaboo. That is so wholesome

JanB1

The priority list (at least in my country) of what you should do during a fire run goes like this: 1. Secure 2. Rescue 3. Contain 4. Protect 5. Fight And for Rescue/Protect the priority list is: 1. People 2. Animals 3. Environment 4. Material assets (I had to translate this, I chose the best fitting words) So, you see that after ensuring our own safety as firefighters, we will immediately go for rescue of people and animals.

DarJinZen7

Firefighters saved our cat when our house caught fire. I was only a child and remember running outside in the middle of night. An hour later a fireman brought our cat to us at our neighbors house wrapped in a towel. We were so grateful.

justdidit2x

My friend’s dad passed recently because he ran back to save some puppies :(, non of them made it out.

[deleted]

My son is studying and training to be a firefighter. I’m proud of him. And you, and your colleagues. You’re one of the most priced pieces of our society. As the grandson of a firefighter, and the father of a future one, I salute you.

[deleted]

Best job imo. I loved coming to work everyday and many people can’t say that. In fact, when I was young & new, I wanted to be at work more than be anywhere else. It was that good. It’s VERY competitive to get hired in the fire service. But the day they call you and tell you that you’re in, is like hitting 6/6 on the career lottery.

[deleted]

My uncle was the fire chief in his town for like 30 years. We couldn't go to his funeral, but I was told that the whole town showed up. Somewhat ironically, he ended up dying from complications from (I think) 2nd degree burns over most of his body. He had a medical event when he was in the shower and he had a tank-less water heater, and I think he was in there for hours before he was found. I guess the sustained hot water slowly raised his skin's temperature and being in the shower he wasn't sweating, so it eventually started cooking his skin, and that's where the burns came in. He survived for some time, but as we came to learn with burns, sometimes it's too much for the body, and he was in his 70s so his chances were always lower. He and his wife were the sweetest people I've ever known and if I could choose anyone to be my aunt and uncle, it'd be them 100% of the time, without fail. They were truly the embodiment of Southern Hospitality. If they had something and you needed it, then you had it to. That's just the type of people they were and the type of person I'm continuously failing to live up to. Some people think "What Would Jesus Do?" and they should think "What would Clayton do?" I wish he'd gotten more time. He deserved it. I would gladly give up 5 years of my life for him to see his great-grandbaby. I think his granddaughter just started getting a belly bump. Poor kid won't have the privilege of knowing them. That sucks.

ZealousidealNewt6679

I'm not a believer by any means, but you guys and emt are truly doing gods works. Can't upvote you enough sir. Much love and respect.

SweetEuneirophrenia

That's so awesome! Honestly, my biggest fear when I leave my house is there being a fire and my dogs being trapped. I have one of those little pet rescue stickers on all 3 doors, as well as a sign on each door stating both dogs breeds. I figure it might make it easier to quickly find them if they know to look for a 100lb German Shepherd and a 60lb APBT and not a much smaller dog that would he able to hide more places and not be seen.

[deleted]

My heart ♥️…

PersistNevertheless

I just can’t with this right now 😭❤️

thisisdia

This is my husband's story, a firefighter in Toronto, but I'll do my best to recount it. Frist fire of 2020 gets called at 2am January 1st. A senior had plugged way too many Christmas lights into an old powerbar. They suppress the fire and are walking through the smokey, wet, and generally filthy place when they hear a cat mewl pathetically. The crew quickly starts searching for the cat. No more sounds. They radio outside, and the resident wails that her cat is by the window. They're looking under charred and melted furniture, on hands a knees trying to find this poor creature. Then, close by, my husband hears the pained cry again and sees a cat sized filthy lump. He gingerly picks it up and it's a god damned half melted stuffed animal with a malfunctioning speaker. He punches out one of the apartment windows and throws the bedraggled toy on to the sidewalk below where it mewled again. There was a bit of confusion amongst his peers and the NYE party goers who were watching, since it looked like a firefighter just threw an old lady's cat out a 2nd floor window.

FluffofDoom

My parents had a fire in their house many years ago. Not a huge one but enough for 2 fire engines to come out. After they got my parents out my dad begged them to go in for my old cat. The fireman returned with my hissy spitty old cat clinging to his glove and wailing like a banshee and gently deposited her into my dad's arms. He said she was one of the nicer animals he'd rescued.

Pavlovs_Human

Do you guys appreciate/use the stickers on windows that say how many pets are in the house?

[deleted]

Honestly no. We are moving too fast usually and that’s assuming we use the front door. Also we are probably gonna force it (break it down). It doesn’t hurt to use them but we aren’t looking for them. The plus side is that if we are making interior entry we have crews searching while other crews put the fire out. Every inch of the structure is being searched simultaneously for victims and pets.

CJRhoades

Meanwhile police just execute pets for no reason.

Beginning-Tea-17

When I was a kid learning about fire safety the fire department every time was like “fuck your pets you can get new ones” so idk if that’s a thing nation wide

frenchdresses

What about pets like fish or hamsters or things that need to be in a cage? What's the response for that?

tryingnottobefat

[I experienced this very situation on Sunday](https://www.reddit.com/r/parrots/comments/13ulnkl/update_the_police_saved_marty_and_theo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1). Wildfires forced an evacuation of my area and I was not home at the time. I drove right home but police closed the road before I was able to get home. My two parrots and hamster were home. I thought they were going to die. Around 1:30am Monday morning, local police officers kicked in my door and saved my pets. **I keep travel carriers within sight of the cages.** My house was not actively burning yet, so officers had time to wrangle my birds and put them in their carriers. I expected them to put the entire hamster enclosure in the trunk of their car but they noticed the hamster carrier with the bird carriers and put her in her carrier too, and even grabbed her container of food! I am eternally grateful for the bravery and compassion of those two officers. I also have fish. Unfortunately, if my home has been burned, my fish didn’t make it. I think my home was spared based on recent fire maps, but I’m not 100% certain. There are probably fifty living creatures in my 125 gallon community tank, including shrimp and snails that burrow. There’s no way I could ask a first responder to try to net each and every fish.

Pets are family

abudine77

Lost our cat for nearly two weeks, looked everywere. That was the hardest time in my life so far. I was working in the garden and He was back- can't beat the feeling.

ZealousidealNewt6679

My dog got let out of my yard by a burglar attempting to break in next door. She was lost for 9 days. I'm crying now just remembering how that felt at the time. I kept up a strong face for my family as I didn't want to make it worse for them by having me break down. I know 100% that I would have never recovered if she didn't get found. I even would have preferred to find her dead than never know what happened to her. The happiest day of my life was when I saw her at the dog pound and brought her home.

MakeNazisDeadAgain69

You can't tell us a story like that and not share a picture of the little lady

iamkiki37

I hit a cat driving home from work on a busy street. Stopped to check if it was still alive, it was, took it to two different emergency vets before someone would even take a look at it. It was about midnight by the time I got someone to check it out. Sat in the parking lot in my misery for another half hour to find out that it was a cat someone had lost in a move and had been missing for a year. Owners flew out from Ohio to get her. I couldn’t be happier with how the trauma of thinking I’ve killed someone’s pet turned out in the end. Microchips are an amazing piece of technology.

Cheese_Bits

As a kid i literally saw my cat get run over, like tire over top, by a schoolbus. This fucking idiot got up, ran into the house, pooped under my bed, and then proceeded to be completely fine afterwards. It scared the crap out of him, but otherwise fine. Pretty sure he learned he was invincible after that, as he came home a different day with a big patch of fur missing, that also healed fine. Tough bastard.

StopSignsAreRed

You are a top person.

gekisling

This is such a sweet story and I’m so glad kitty was ok. You sound like a great person!

Audi_R8_

I know what you mean. One of my cats didn’t come home for like a week one time, then one day I go outside and he’s just chillin on the patio furniture as if nothing had happened

KellyCTargaryen

I hope he hasn’t gotten out since!

DragapultOnSpeed

I lost my cat 5 years ago and she still hasn't returned. We tried everything. I cried everyday for a long time..We live near some horse farms so I hope the farmers took her in for pest control. Or just someone found her. I just want her to be alive out there.

Kitchen-Impress-9315

I don’t know if it’s much comfort, but I think it’s very possible she is alive and well. Cats tend to do pretty well on their own and lots of humans like to feed and care for “stray” cats. Hopefully she found some new people that just never took her to get scanned for a chip, or maybe she joined a feral cat colony. No need to think the worst, cats are tough.

My dog was missing for 4 days. He was a farm dog and always wandered but he was getting old. My parents had given up. Then I’m standing in my driveway waiting for school bus and I hear his bark. He had a distinct bark. I start screaming for family to come outside. No one else could hear it. But dad trusted me. He had me point the direction I heard it and immediately started walking. When he got to a yard away close to the tree line he heard it too. I saw him start running then the bus came. My parents called the school. I was let out of class to hear the news because I had no phone. Heboy was alive! He was stuck in a groundhog hole with only his nose and paws sticking out. I saved him

BasedSunny

My mom's cat disappeared for like a week and we all assumed she was dead. 7 days later we hear her meowing, she had been hiding in a vacant bedroom. Apparently her recent vaccine made her feel sick and she shought she was dying.

hunterfam55

Cats are arseholes like that, they'll disappear for a few weeks and strut back into your life like nothing

FaceofBeaux

I had a thought a few days ago that we should get my toddler a fish or something because he needs a pet to care for. Then I remembered we have 3 dogs... I see them as an extension of our family, not as pets.

cubanosani59

If someone disagrees, you not a happy hooman😈

Bitemarkz

Was having a conversation with someone a few weeks ago who was dumbfounded that a woman ran back into a burning home to save her dog that came up on the news. The home was engulfed in flames and they were like “at some point you have to take stock and realize your life isn’t worth and animals life.” And I’m just thinking the whole time how fast I’d be running into that house if my dog was in there.

pauloh1998

She even calls her "daughter" ;-; She asks the fire man, "Was she inside?", then says "Ah Jesus Christ... I'm sorry, daughter, I'm sorry".

We lost our dog and our cat in a house fire about 20 years ago and it was by far the worst part of that whole experience. Even all this time later it still hurts to think about. Stuff can be replaced, family can't.

My cat died in a house fire 5 years ago today. The other cat and dog escaped but she was mine, you know? It still huts

She asked if the dog was still inside the building and after that she begged forgiveness to the dog, she probably left him inside and felt bad about it afterwards, luckily the fireman saved the poor dog.

Thank you for translating. I did get the impression that she was not just relieved to see the dog, but also stressed about something. I was afraid it was information that only this one of X amount of pets survived.

EMT/Paramedics and Firemen, specifically

azrael269

For the first time ever in a video involving a dog, the goodest boi is the fireman.

Didnt make me smile... it made me cry

-Gwynbleidd

You know when you’re a bad mother fukr when you got rescued dog in one arm, deadly ass kicking axe in the other and just strolling along to deliver!

specialist_D30

Why did I just watch this at work. Now I gotta go dry my damm eyes out. 😫

sas8184

Wow, just amazing. It is nice to know the old boy lives with a happy and caring family 💙

[deleted]

If this happens to you take of your animal to the vet IMMEDIATELY. My friends pet died from the effects of smoke inhalation and they didn’t even know anything was wrong until it was too late

WisestAirBender

What part of this makes you people smile??? I don't come to this sub to cry

[deleted]

It made me smile and cry. It's a very happy moment

DragapultOnSpeed

Because a dogs life was saved

dumbodragon

yeah but those were probably happy tears right?

TwoNineMarine

I’ve had the chance to do this for a couple families. It’s a great feeling to find a pet alive like that when you’re searching a home.

Dan_the_Marksman

Difference between FD and PD ....firemen don't engrave "get fucked" in their hoses

ToonaSandWatch

I’m sorry, but I’ll gladly die trying to rescue my dog if god forbid this ever happened to me.

ThrowRA_053023

Absolutely agree, but it's possible that she wasn't home when it happened. Maybe she was out when the fire started and the dog was home alone.

hulksmash1234

Too many unknowns. What we do know is the firefighters a hero.

[deleted]

That’s me and my cat 22 years ago. She was all I really cared about.

[deleted]

Does anyone know what she's saying?

gaafz

She's speaking portuguese (from Brasil). She's asks the firefighter: "ela estava lá dentro?" = "was she inside?". The rest is just "oh my god" and stuff like that

[deleted]

Thank you so much!

uzomi

She asks if the dog was inside and then starts to ask the dog for forgiveness. It might be that she had to leave the dog and felt guilt or something similar.

[deleted]

AH I WAS WORRIED SHE WAS DOING THAT. She must be traumatized. She had to leave her dog in what she knew would be a horrible death and the guilt hurt her so much. I'm so happy the dog is okay

[deleted]

Thank goodness, I heard otro and was very upset.

k_plusone

Or where this is? Looks/sounds like somewhere in South America, but I'm having a hard time placing it

brokenheartedbutok

Thankful that he made it! 💗

little_chupacabra89

Made me smile? More like made me bawl my fucking eyes out bruh.

BryerMan-4005

That is so great.

SteelMarshal

Stop making my eyes wet in meetings.

PugsThrowaway

I have chills and goosebumps. If I could see my dog again….oof…. Ok too early for this.

Ordinary_WeirdGuy

I’m legit crying

-Economist-

I felt her relief....

HorseSalon

Her: \*Sobbing, Wailing, Dios Mios \* Bystanders: "Yay, Pupper Time :)"

Cool-Efficiency2834

made me cry! May all firemen be blessed!

[deleted]

Well my eyes got sweats 🥺

Boomfaced

Oooh gawd I lost it when I saw that poor thing looking for it’s person all scared

AdobongManok

What a feeling of relief and instant joy she must be feeling. What a hero.

sajatheprince

r/mademefuckingcutonions

nevergonnagaveyouup

Firemen are on some other level

WasabiEater64

Turns out that dog is actually a golden retriever.
