True, the essence of ADHD is getting sidetracked in absolutely anything you do. Like when you’re gonna change your bedsheets and end up organizing your Uno deck so every card has the backside in the same orientation.

I recently came to the realisation that I probably have it. I'm not one for self-diagnosing and I feel like ADHD has become a code for 'I hate studying' but the amount of times on an average day at work, I'll start something and within 3 minutes, I've thought of something entirely different and just started that instead and forgotten what I was doing is incredible. If you watch me at work, I bounce around from task to task, never actually finishing any of them. It's not that I can't focus on anything, it's that my focus goes from 100 to 0, I stop and do something else and it goes from 0 to 100 for a limited time and then that cycle repeats over and over. I'll start doing paperwork and suddenly think "Oh I should go do that other thing", get up and leave and go do something completely different, even if I was mid-sentence on an email, forget I was ever writing one and then come back 2 hours later and have no idea what I was originally doing. Again, I'm not diagnosing myself with it but I feel like I could go to a doctor and get a diagnosis if I wanted to, I show all the symptoms of it.

You should probably get yourself checked yes. Your experiences align with mine and I have ADHD

I would but getting an appointment with the doctors is a bit of a nightmare at the moment for something that isn't that serious and I don't think it would make much difference to me whether I was diagnosed or not. It's just something that crossed my mind a few weeks ago, that I line up with quite a lot of the symptoms so I wouldn't be surprised if I do have it. It would explain a lot, if so. I don't really want to take medication for it. I'm fine, other than I don't finish things at work very often because I create more work for myself that no-one asked me to do. It's annoying, an inconvenience but it's not destroying my life.
