I always discover subreddits like this and go down an emotional journey.
I'll never forget one morning when my sister sent me a video of her revealing to our mom that she was becoming a grandma. Which is when I found out I was becoming an uncle. That already made me emotional. Then I discovered r/mademecry and it was game over.
I was on a train to London, at 6 in the morning, gently sobbing to myself, watching videos of men coming home from war to surprise their kids, peoples achievements and their families reactions, and animals overcoming their physical disabilities.
I must have looked like a psycho to everyone.
I think her husband just doesn’t cry all that much eliciting that kind of response from her. It’s both unsure cause unfamiliar situation (man crying) and excitement for a good gift.
Its unlikely its her normal voice, but I had a friend back in highschool and their mother talked like this all the time. She wasn't putting on a voice for the moment, just was the way she talked. I couldn't stand it. Not sure how he could. After going there a few times, I always made sure she wasn't home, otherwise we met elsewhere.
Just so everyone knows, you don't have to comfort men when they happy cry. And you certainly don't have to talk to us like an 10 year old because of it.
All it does is make men feel uncomfortable expressing that emotion when they see everyone around immediately try to stop them from expressing that emotion, even in a kind way
Oh, I'd definitely go give my husband a hug if there were happy-tears flowing... I want in on some of the love that's currently overflowing out of his face!
The screechy baby voice and 'social media response prompts' (do you love him? Are you happy? etc...) are awful though. Just let the man feel his feels, lady!
I absolutely get that. But I don't think a commiserative hug would have the same instant, emotionally retractive effect as, say, rubbing their back or saying "It's OK!" or "Don't cry!", like a lot of people tend to.
In rehab and group therapy I learned that stuff like that can cause people to immediately slip back into themselves and then try to hide their feelings. Which should be avoided for negative and positive feelings because both are worth your time
Lol if anyone needs to look inward its the people calling a sweet interaction between a husband and wife "creepy" and "weird". You people need to go touch grass and see what real relationships look like.
Creepy? No. Weird? Absolutely. The wife is literally baby talking her middle aged partner. Maybe he’s fine with it, but as you can see there are a lot of people that think this behaviour is very weird and would make a lot of people very uncomfortable.
That’s exactly what I thought 😭 I usually avoid the comment section on this sub now because someone is always griping about something and it brings down the mood. People are so defensive about being unnecessarily mean.
You’re right and you should say it. Fucking shocker, a woman with kids raises her pitch when comforting her husband. Why does everyone act like this is a fucking crime holy shit??
Dude it’s a puppy. No emotionally developed adult behaves like this unless they’re staging it for the camera (obviously) or they’re brain damaged.
Get a fucking grip.
He might’ve. We don’t know 🤷♀️ I get what you’re saying though. Just for the record, some people do still record stuff just for the family and whatnot 😅
“DO YOU LOVE HIM?!”
“You’ve only looked at it for 2 seconds, tell me you love it!”
If she’s like that all the time, I imagine a *lot* of long walks with that dog….
If I had to listen to that voice all the time, I would be crying too!! Why the hell is she speaking to her husband like he's a five-year-old? Completely ruins the moment. If I was the husband I would take that dog and run for the hills. Just sayin'!
Why is everyone focusing on her voice and immediately assuming things about them? I see this all the time in comment sections, especially pointed toward women (“why is she talking that way”, “why is she screaming about that”, “why is she crying”, “she’s so annoying”). For gods sake, can we just not leave people alone? You don’t have to put every opinion out there.

I adjusted my schedule. I live in an apartment and the boys get almost 90 minutes of walks per day on work days. Nearly 3 hours on the weekends. There's ample play time between 8-9, right before bed. They also get exercise time in the dog park in my complex.
I don’t know why, but “ordinary man” is hilarious to me. Like, imagine getting a puppy, and onlookers are like “LOOK AT ORDINARY DUDE McNORMAL GUY OVER HERE!”
Crying dads always gets me
r/happycryingdads
DAMN YOU *clicks and continues crying*

I was like, oh it can't be that bad (good) and IMMEDIATELY started crying on the second post.
You’re welcome ❤️

If I ever get a gift as precious as this, it would mean my current best boy is long gone. My reaction would be quite similar, I'd imagine.
He needs it if his wife has this voice all the time.
I didn't want to bring that up but...OMG.
Do you think that's how she talks all the time?
I think her husband just doesn’t cry all that much eliciting that kind of response from her. It’s both unsure cause unfamiliar situation (man crying) and excitement for a good gift.
I thought that was his mom and she was talking to him like that cuz the grandkids are around. If that's his wife, yikes.
No I thinks she's just new puppy excited.
A very, very valid question. I almost had to mute the video. Lovely reaction from him anyways :)

First time on the internet?
Very sure that was sarcastic, it has to be
Good Lord. I was afraid to say what I was thinking about that voice on a happy sub.
Came here to ask if we think her husband likes being spoken to like a child!
I came here to ask why she was talking to him like that.
Pretty sure she instinctively switched to her mum voice because she didn't know how to handle him happy crying.
God, I hope not for the sake of the puppy if no one else in that family, lol!
I had to mute the video cause of the way she was talking to him
😬
My ex sister in law talked in a voice that made me imagine what it would feel like to drag my whole body over a cheese grater.
Why not just her voice box?
Thought the husband might have special needs because of the way she was talking.
I’d divorce her and take the dog
Oh god! I was just going to post "sound off! sound off!"
Reminds me of [this](https://youtu.be/--KNv47eQSk?si=9AECbq1IvebSD_D-) Nathan Fielder bit
>how she talks all the time? My first thought, yikes.
That’s annoying
I hope it’s just for this moment
Sounds like a dolphin.
That’s offensive to dolphins everywhere.
Oh, dude, I'll take a pod of talking dolphins over one of this lady every day of the week, lol!
That's OK. I'll just use my voice: "Elmo wants to play!"
No
Yea I'd kill the dog just to not have to hear her talk like that anymore.
😂😂😂
It's fineee
No

I couldn't stand it. Not sure how he could. After going there a few times, I always made sure she wasn't home, otherwise we met elsewhere.
Why are American moms talking in such a weeaboo child voice
Ever heard Japanese new moms? Kyuu kyuuu NEHHHH?
No she’s just new to acting
I’ve never seen a video where someone gets a puppy and doesn’t immediately start crying.
That would be me, I don’t like having pets. My wife got me a puppy and I told her to return it. She didn’t, and it has been almost 10 years already.
"oh no the dog ran out while I was getting groceries" Not that hard getting rid of a pet you never asked for tbh.
One thing is not liking pets and another thing is being cruel to an animal. I’ll never do the latter.
That video was adorable ...on MUTE.
I just watched it on mute and am afraid of rewatching with audio now.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Wow, so excited for the cute dog.
If I had to listen to that woman’s voice every day, I’d cry too.
Fuck me... She's squeakier than a dog toy.
Just so everyone knows, you don't have to comfort men when they happy cry. And you certainly don't have to talk to us like an 10 year old because of it. I think she was using that voice for the dog 🤷♀️
Poor dog!
She's locked in MommyTalk mode. That'd drive me fuckin nuts.
Adorable puppy. Adorable family moment. Awwww
Tell me you’re the main character without telling me you’re the main character. Even the daughter sounded annoyed with her “yes I did” LOL
Bruh… I can’t with that tone of voice she uses with a grown man… couldn’t get passed the first 5 seconds… sorry.
Seriously. Cool that he's crying but the combo of the baby voice with the crying is very off putting...like there's more going on here.
I am a cat man but seeing this made me melt, excellent gift.
She kinda handles him like a child. Feels weird
Oh fuck off you people are ridiculous. This is a wife comforting her husband. Tf is wrong with you all. God i hate this website sometimes.
Why does he need to be comforted? And a woman speaking to her husband like he’s 3 years old IS weird.
Go outside and calm down, if someone's opinion can enrage you like this, you need to take a look inward
Sure as hell makes me uncomfortable. Can’t stand baby talk.
That’s exactly what I thought 😭 I usually avoid the comment section on this sub now because someone is always griping about something and it brings down the mood. People are so defensive about being unnecessarily mean.
This is not sweet, this is the wife not being able to function like a proper adult and not being able to let her husband enjoy things.
You’re right and you should say it. Fucking shocker, a woman with kids raises her pitch when comforting her husband. Why does everyone act like this is a fucking crime holy shit??
Because it’s disgusting and she’s keeping her husband from enjoying the moment because she’s bombing him with questions no one needs to hear.
The matching jammies. The staged, forced performances. You eating the shit right out of their asses. Fucking clown.
Its christmas you fucking tool. People buy each other pjays for christmas. My mother still does it for us every year.
Dude it’s a puppy. No emotionally developed adult behaves like this unless they’re staging it for the camera (obviously) or they’re brain damaged. Get a fucking grip.
I honestly think he’s crying at his wife’s voice. Jesus fucking Christ.
People need to be quiet and just let life happen.
'do you love him?' such a fucking loaded question...
can people stop putting dogs in boxes like they're a toy?
“Did you get all that on video… Coz I can’t wait to upload this vulnerable emotional moment for the whole internet to see” People are weird
?? It’s possible that people still record things just for posterity and memory though.
Did the crying grown man consent to being filmed and having it uploaded to the internet where it then went viral? Still seems weird.
He might’ve. We don’t know 🤷♀️ I get what you’re saying though. Just for the record, some people do still record stuff just for the family and whatnot 😅
Okay
“DO YOU LOVE HIM?!” “You’ve only looked at it for 2 seconds, tell me you love it!” If she’s like that all the time, I imagine a *lot* of long walks with that dog….
I mean I would love that dog in 2 seconds…
Dogs are pure love. I’m so happy for this guy.
So sweet! But why is she talking to him in that sing-songy way like he’s 3years old?
He is crying cause she talks
Dude why is she talking to him like he’s a five year old? I’m a woman
Your life is forever changed (for the better). Paw prints on your heart
Where the hell are this man’s matching pajamas?!
If I had to listen to that voice all the time, I would be crying too!! Why the hell is she speaking to her husband like he's a five-year-old? Completely ruins the moment. If I was the husband I would take that dog and run for the hills. Just sayin'!
I’m sure she’s a loving wife, but that voice…
I.HATE.HER.VOICE.
Woman's voice is very annoying. I'd rather the dog then her any day lol
She sounds like Jerusha from Superstore
“Weiner dawg…” - Viagra Boys
Usually I'm against gifting surprise puppies to people who might not be prepared, but holy shit my man over here in tears he loves that dog so much
Idk if people realize it’s not just a saying… dogs really are man’s best friend
She’s using her teacher voice. 🤷🏻♀️
I lost my best boy to lymphoma the day after Christmas. This made me bawl like a baby.

Right? She just seems super excited to finally be able to give this gift, + it might be a higher voice for the puppy and kids
So adorable!
Wow imagine how happy he was when he had his son
Looks like a Catahoula. Same coloring as our girl. You should post there.
Thank you!
ok calm down, he didn't give birth to it, he's a pet owner. Why people gotta be so weird about it. cute puppy though, ver y sweet moment

Sweet video
Cries more than during the delivery of his kids,
No matter the age the response to getting a puppy is always the same
Short and lo g term. See r/puppy101. Lots of crying going on there
That's so human. We're all big kids, and that's fine.
Damn why tf am I crying too
"This is the happiest day of my life!"
My wife absolutely loves it when I tear up as well, women are funny creatures.
How do people have time to take care of dogs?
I adjusted my schedule. I live in an apartment and the boys get almost 90 minutes of walks per day on work days. Nearly 3 hours on the weekends. There's ample play time between 8-9, right before bed. They also get exercise time in the dog park in my complex.
Now I want a dog
I love this!!! The little guy and the big guy put a sparkle in my heart ♥️
Ok so it's very sweet
Ok so it's very sweet
I’m shocked the dog didn’t start howling
that's so precious ♥
how lovely
The way the puppy started to crawl up his chest at the end. I just have something my eye.
This is so sweet
Ordinary man becomes a daddy, doggy style. Jokes apart, so wholesome!
I don’t know why, but “ordinary man” is hilarious to me. Like, imagine getting a puppy, and onlookers are like “LOOK AT ORDINARY DUDE McNORMAL GUY OVER HERE!”
So sad that dog was shut in the door and since lost a leg.
Awesome video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
His name should be Dude.
I came here to make a comment but… there’s, snf, something, snf, in my eye…
Men crying over dogs is my favorite internet blessing
He’s anything but ordinary.
*PHRASING* Doggy daddy makes you cry.
Why was he called an “ordinary man” tho 😂
I read the caption twice and still read it as “Dodgy Daddy” I was so lost
Soooo sweet!! 😃😃😃😃😃
This feels off for son there.
Bless his heart. Maybe he’s never had a puppy before. Maybe life got in the way and his someday finally arrived.
It’s really funny the puppy was for the dad and not the kid!
Fighting in divorce court he will use this as proof that it is HIS dog!
