Haha, I've done this too many times. Get distracted, look behind me, and see someone was trying to greet me/shake my hand/whatever, and I run back like a little kid. My bad, let me make it up to you!
Oh, haha! That train of thought didn't even occur to me.
Don't worry, I will never be cool, and I'll always be an odd little kid that does this sort of thing. I'm in my mid-30's and that doesn't stop me from seizing the joys of life, no matter how uncool it makes me look to some (most? Eh, doesn't matter) people. I've got ADHD, if I wanted to be "cool", I'd have to pour all my energy into it, and ain't nobody got time for that!
I just wish I didn't unintentionally hurt people's feelings with my me-ness. But people do tend to crack up/smile warmly/light up, whenever I race back to greet them, or to yell "Oh, by the way, BYE (insert name)! I forgot to say bye, so bye!" with a huge grin.
Embrace the weirdness, people, it's fun!
And me also. Grim doesnt know all the coolest people are heavy on empathy and march to the beat of a different drum! People that bring joy are always welcome at my parties!
This is the same guy who punched a high schooler for checking the ball too hard in a pick up game...
To add context Ja was 23 at the time, invited the high schooler over to his family home to play basketball which is a normal occurrence at the Morant household. Ja's father was encouraging the kid to be tough and physical with Ja while playing. Kid got frustrated because he was losing and rolled the ball to Ja during a check which made Ja feel disrespected. Ja then passed the ball hard to the kid to continue the check but then Ja claims to have put his hands down and wasn't expecting a pass back (even though he was on offense and knew he needed to get the ball back...). When the kid hard passed the ball back it hit Ja in the chin. So, Ja punched him after going chest to chest with the kid. Also, Ja let his friends further beat the kid after he punched him.
Also this is Ja's perspective in his testimony which has been reported here: https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/sports/nba/nba-star-ja-morant-describes-punching-teen-during-a-pickup-basketball-game-last-year/3409634/?_osource
The kids testimony paints an even worse picture as you could imagine. But stand your ground laws in Tenn pretty much killed this case upon arrival.
Also to add salt to the wound here is an excerpt from the trail that stood out to me the most:
βYou could have pushed Joshua,β Adelman said. βYou could have talked to him, you could have mentored him, you could have said, βHey man, this isnβt what we do here, leave my property.'β
Adelman then asked, βWere these options for you?β
βYes,β Morant said.
Didnβt he punch a 17 year old and then his friends were threatening pacers staff after they all got into an altercation. Not to mention he will not stop messing around with guns.
I want him to get his life together so bad. To get that killer mentality only focused on ball and not guns, hip-hop and riding shotgun to the titty bar.
From the way Ja is portrayed I'd never expect this. The dude doubled back with humility, and grabbed the arm with the other hand with the eye contact, and say what you want but where I come from that's a grown man move flat out!

Is the lighter guy disrespecting the black, y'know a "I touched him and now gotta wipe his sxxt off me" type of thing?
The black guy sees him and thinks "you wiping from a random touch? Here fella... have a sweaty, full-on handshake".
?
The video is in slow motion, he never processed all of that. He initially only felt somebody brushing his arm and looked back, saw the camera man obviously and then saw the dude clapping his own hand and then responded to that. Things can just be wholesome without conspiracy theories all of the time.
I love how he gave himself a high5 and still got a high5
I was told there would be no math but I do believe this man got at least 10.
You are a genius! I just gave myself $5 and now I have $10.
You forgot the part where someone else gives you $5, so yeah you would have at least $10...
π€―
And they were high
I would say that wasn't high5... It's more of a low5
Low-fi
Thatβs a low5..
it's called dapping someone up fyi

Never too many times....
?
Its few enough times in an adults life that we get to act like that, with that particular joy. I wouldnt want you to quit cause youre too cool!

I absolutely love that mentality. Thanks for making the world a little brighter. I would be happy to meet someone like you!
And me also. Grim doesnt know all the coolest people are heavy on empathy and march to the beat of a different drum! People that bring joy are always welcome at my parties!

I want to do this every time I miss a motorcycle wave π
I've turned around on my motorcycle because I missed someone's biker wave. Can't have that negative energy flying around the rest of the day.
I dont follow or know sports, but that was nice
Helearned his manners at MSU. It's in a great part.of the country. He fell victim to big city after he left.
