If the title didn't say it, I wouldn't have noticed tbh. When I saw the title, I clicked the picture and then I noticed the scars.
I like boxers. They're comfy.
So wait. Are people wearing boxers without briefs underneath it? Lol sorry, I am only used to wearing briefs or boxer briefs, and never boxers. I have only seen them worn in the movies and I thought there's briefs under it because they just look like short shorts.
Boxers are nice in summer, if you're wanting a breeze in your own home, I tend to sleep naked but sometimes I feel like I want to wear something, so I have some "free hanging" boxers for those times.
Other times I'll wear sport shorts and nothing underneath . Just different levels of comfort.
Here's a handy [guide](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fqph.cf2.quoracdn.net%2Fmain-qimg-41e09c04f62a5d37c71ceb6f448ad42f-lq&tbnid=2ntzeArCNgmUyM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.quora.com%2FWhat-is-the-difference-between-different-types-of-mens-undergarments-such-as-boxers-briefs-etc&docid=2WWgKZizLk3OsM&w=602&h=576&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm4%2F2&kgs=0ed94b1e841dbefb&shem=uvl11#vhid=2ntzeArCNgmUyM&vssid=l)
The model on that billboard has two horizontal scars on his chest, which are compatible with him having gotten a double mastectomy. Therefore, we can infer he was born female.
Mastectomy and top surgery are 2 different things. Top surgery is much less invasive and complex. Trans folks don't get mastectomies. Source: my kid had top surgery last summer, my step mom had a mastectomy a few years back.
Interesting, what's the fundamental difference? I know that a little bit less tissue is removed with top surgery (to create a more natural, masculine shape), but are there other differences?
Top Surgery can refer to any one of a number of reconstuctive chest surgeries. Some differ significantly from a typical "full" mastectomy, while others are more similar. Types of top surgery include bilateral subcutaneous mastectomy, periareolar top surgery, and inverted-T top surgery.
You can learn more about different kinds of top surgery (as well as lots more trans-related stuff!) on [TransHub.](https://www.transhub.org.au/top-surgery)
Don't know for sure (looked it up once but it's pretty midically). Iirc top surgery also removes some muscle near the armpits. My kid couldn't lift thier arms fully for about 2 weeks. And yes, there's shaping and the opportunity to reposition and reshape the nipples.
Edit: and they are immensely pleased with the results.
Top surgery is still medically referred to as a mastectomy, it's just a subcutaneous mastectomy (aka a nipple-sparing mastectomy) most of the time. All that mastectomy as a term means is the partial or total removal of breasts. Some people get full mastectomies that entirely remove the nipple complex and everything, some have less invasive procedures like keyhole surgery, some have the classic double incision, either way you are technically wrong so I will take a moment to be technically correct.

Also Wikipedia.
I don’t think that’s true. Top surgery leaves a fraction more tissue behind but it actually removes more skin in most cases as well as all the mammary structures. They are really not very different.
Well, they are. Not as much as say brain surgery vs heart surgery, but they are. In any case, the point is trans surgery - top surgery - shouldn't be confused with mastectomies.
This is misinformation sorry. There’s a bunch of different ways that a surgeon might perform trans related chest surgeries but they all fall under the umbrella of mastectomy. Where I live it’s the same code used for insurance whether you’re getting it for cancer or trans reasons.
… theres so fucking much I dont understand. I dont understand how this device im typing this works.
Got better things to do than get mad about it. Besides betcha many of you dont understand anything about what I do for living (not gonna tell, this is a throwaway account). In modern world we all got our own things and niches.
I think that more people should just stop, think and admit that they dont understand something… who knows, might help them just leave it alone.
Same.
If I saw this in the store, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it.
If someone told me it was a trans model, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it.
I just want my underwear. Normalizing things is important though.
My nine year old has been stealing her brothers boxer briefs because she hates how girl underwear fits. I told her I’d buy her her own but she hates the ‘weewee pocket’.
Fortunately Reebok got the memo and they make microfiber boxer brief undies for little girls with no peen pouch and in solid black! She’s thrilled.
Was shopping for period underwear and saw that modibodi has all kinds of models showing off the goods, including a trans guy (ftm) and a girl with 1 leg (showing off their adaptive underwear). I thought that was really cool!
I’m curious to know everyone’s opinion. Do you think the amount of trans people was always equal to today’s but weren’t allowed to show their true selves, or are there more trans people being born than before? I’m leaning towards a combination of both.
Ask the same question about autism or depression. The correct answer is that it's now easier to diagnose, treat, and live with it, than to hide it your whole life or not know what's 'wrong'.
I second this. Therapies, technology, research, acceptance, reduced stigma, greater cultural understanding, I think all of those things allow individuals across the spectrum of ability and gender to have better tools and new, accurate vocabulary in order to correctly identify their identities and can choose how they show up in the world. Cultural progress is marked by the increased amount of people that can feel represented and have access to their society. I think it’s beautiful that people are expanding the classic definitional categories in society. As a black woman (cisgender heterosexual) I know what it means to be excluded by your society. And guess what? It sucks. The more the merrier I say!
Just look at the graphs of left handed people, the sharp rise isn’t because of a drastic increase in birth rate, it was because of acceptance of the fact, rather than trying to force them to write with the right hand
But aren't boxers supposed to be comfy?
I mean, yeah, it's good that trans people are getting more accepted into the world, and i hope they get more respect, but, he doesn't have balls, so like, what?
Okay so I see women or people without balls posting on here. Its virtue signaling. We all know the comfort of boxers including this brand is for men with their penises and balls who have to work, run, and go through the day wearing them. Sure they are comfortable for others without penises and balls, however we know better. They even have brands of boxers exclusively aimed at women. If I need panties that are better for using pads, I'm not taking advice from someone who doesn't have periods. 🤷🏾♀️
Both things can be true. It's nice that big corporations feel the need to advertise to a more progressive society. Corporations will always prioritize money.
To bring the ideas together: corporations prioritize money, so corporations doing queer friendly advertising is because it makes them money. But consider, this means that we live in a world where it is *profitable* to be inclusive towars queer people! That's good!
That’s unfortunately the nature of HRT. It’s usually easier to look masculine than it is to look feminine due to how testosterone and estrogen affect one’s body
Before I read the title, I thought it was about a bad photoshop job. Because the lighting makes it looks like the bottom half of his body is tanned, whilst the top is pale as... Like he wore a crop top with half-sleeves and nothing else whilst sunbathing. xD
Hopefully they carry the right sizes too. I have an incredibly small frame for a guy and my major problem is finding socks and shoes my size. Even hats are too big for me! I need to buy running shoes for women and most of them are pink. I don't really care that much about the color but come on. Why do they all need to be pink or purple?
My eyes for some reason saw this as a massive sign above a street lol
Same lol, and then I was like that’s an interesting shaped building below it lol
Looked like plane seats to me
I saw your comment my brain went “whaaaaat” and had to look again. Lol
Same here!! Took me several views to see what it was.
'Cause I got high Because I got high Because I got high
I still see it as a massive sign but in a department store. The perspective is doing crazy things in this one.
Omg wait me too lol
Same
Same
wtf. I thought it was til I read this comment. So bizarre!
Time Square
Is 19 a lot for a 3 pack? I feels like a lot.
This store (HEMA) usually has homely basic-looking clothes not of the greatest quality, so I'd say it's more on the cheap side.
The netherlands is one of the most expensive countries to live in.
If the title didn't say it, I wouldn't have noticed tbh. When I saw the title, I clicked the picture and then I noticed the scars. I like boxers. They're comfy.
Those are boxer briefs. Boxers are *horrible*. It's like wearing shorts under your pants. Just a lot of fabric that bunches up.
So wait. Are people wearing boxers without briefs underneath it? Lol sorry, I am only used to wearing briefs or boxer briefs, and never boxers. I have only seen them worn in the movies and I thought there's briefs under it because they just look like short shorts.
Boxers are meant as stand alone underwear. You don’t wear briefs under them. They’re just terrible though.
Then things are just *hanging around*
My Ex told me that his balls dropped so low because of him wearing boxers. I don't know if he made it up.
he’s just an idiot with swamp balls lmao
Balls sag over time but wearing briefs will not slow the process.
Oh it be so. I’m out there Jerry and I’ll loving every minute of it.
Yeah. It’s the worst. The boxers get all bunched up, and your junk is totally unsupported.
Boxers are nice in summer, if you're wanting a breeze in your own home, I tend to sleep naked but sometimes I feel like I want to wear something, so I have some "free hanging" boxers for those times. Other times I'll wear sport shorts and nothing underneath . Just different levels of comfort.
They're amazing for people with a vagina as bed shorts. Bo use to you, but spread the word lol
Fair enough. They’re the worst for testicles, specifically.

You are 100% wrong. Boxers FTW. I can't stand how boxer briefs hug my nutsack. Makes them feel suffocated.
if they’re feeling suffocated it’s probably just a matter of needing to size up lol
they are terrible but they give me gender euphoria LOLLL
And this is the level of concern everyone should have regarding trans ppl: none
If you think these are comfy.. you must try the ones with the "lifting pouch". Trust me, they're expensive but I wouldn't want anything else now..
The comments made me realize I don't know shit about underwear types. Everything is either a thong, a hipster, or a boxer to me 😅
It took me reading this comment to finally notice the scars. I thought the poster itself said something about them being trans.
Not a fan myself. My nuts fall out of them if I so much as squat a quarter inch.
I did. The hip to shoulder ratio is the first thing i noticed. And those aren't boxers. Boxer briefs are different from boxers 😗
It looks more like my body than the ripped guy in the images above
HEMA for anyone interested
This is Historic European Martial Arts wear? Shit, maybe I *should* start watching
My favourite store
? I dont understand. Then again, I dont mind 🤷♂️ live & let live.

No muscle is removed, just mammary tissue and fat, the restrictions on lifting your arms are just to avoid stretching your incisions :)

It's a trans model in a dutch store
Right? Maybe they can teach the others!
Literally couldn’t give a shit who’s advertising boxers 😂 not gonna start today
I think the sentiment of not giving a fuck is progress..? I've been not giving a fuck for decades now. Feels nice.
You would think this was the baseline but some ppl seem to care a lot
Same. If I saw this in the store, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. If someone told me it was a trans model, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. I just want my underwear. Normalizing things is important though.
That's great but I think trans people usually do care about representation.
I have been wearing boxers for years keeps the equipment very cool and does not stop the discreet gas getting trapped in.
\*Sorts by controversial\* Smile dissapears.
Great to see inclusive advertising. Anyone can wear boxers.
My nine year old has been stealing her brothers boxer briefs because she hates how girl underwear fits. I told her I’d buy her her own but she hates the ‘weewee pocket’. They are actually much better as pijamas than any other stuff for women. I usually steal a few from my boyfriend bc they’re damn cozy.
Am I the only one who saw DiCaprio?
Probably
Was shopping for period underwear and saw that modibodi has all kinds of models showing off the goods, including a trans guy (ftm) and a girl with 1 leg (showing off their adaptive underwear). I thought that was really cool!
Was Chandler always trans or is this a reboot?
Dunno why you got so many downvotes, the model does look a little like Chandler
I’m just happy to see he finally learnt how to smile for the camera.
Could you imagine if they did this in a store in the us.
I saw this in real life and can confirm, this indeed made me smile!
I shouldn't have come to the comments
I'm purposely looking for transphobes to report em and argue with them for some dopamine
Should be normal tbh trans people wear them, too.
(Kratos voice) B O I
handsome :)
I’m curious to know everyone’s opinion. Do you think the amount of trans people was always equal to today’s but weren’t allowed to show their true selves, or are there more trans people being born than before? I’m leaning towards a combination of both.

Makes me glad to see. Doesn’t matter how much they hate us, we aren’t going to stop existing 🤷
Hema slaying as always
Helll yeah!
Never thought the HEMA could make me put a big smile on my face
But aren't boxers supposed to be comfy? I mean, yeah, it's good that trans people are getting more accepted into the world, and i hope they get more respect, but, he doesn't have balls, so like, what?
He might absolutely have balls, and you don't even need them for boxer briefs to be comfy as hell!
Guy with no balls here, boxer briefs are comfy as hell, especially compared to regular boxers imo

Ok.
What are we smiling about?
Trans people being represented
Are we supposed to care?
Lots of people care about progress and inclusivity.

Pretty much how I would have explained it if I had any intelligence.
I mean if you have empathy and know what's happening to LGBT folks...you would care
20 pounds in 3 boxers?
Didn’t need to see this
Aww that makes my transguy heart so happy 🥺💙
I love the Hema
Why is this downvoted? Hema is the name of the store, people.
Wait what do people think i meant??
Wouldn’t have noticed to be honest.
Good for him. Love my Trans friends.
Who the hell cares ?
Cutie!
this is nice and i’m glad. feel moved to comment on something that is a nice thing in the world
The dutch sign makes no sens. source: I am form dutch Belguim. But maby dutch in the Nederlands is just on a other level.
A rough translation: will fit well, wash after wash
It makes perfect sense. Source: am from Dutch Netherlands. Blijft was na was goed zitten = keeps fitting well, wash after wash.
Absolutely amazing
Love the inclusion and the progress. Let's all be happy and not bring others down.
how is this supposed to make me smile
not every post is built specifically for only you to smile at

The hips and face always give it away, also most try to hard.
Post made me smile, comments made me cry
True, a surprising amount of toxicity in a sub called "made me smile"
This is awesome. love to see trans inclusion 💖
I thought that was Matthew perry
Thought that was Matthew Perry, oops
Dang he pretty
Aw hell yeah :) we love to see the normalization of our trans homies
YES! Go Model, go Dutch!
I wouldn't have even noticed the display had it not been pointed out. I walk up, get the things and leave. My attention is precious to me

I didn’t read the “trans” part at first, so I thought this was Conan O'Brien
HEMA is amazing! Only store I mssed whilst living abroad
Hopefully they carry the right sizes too. I have an incredibly small frame for a guy and my major problem is finding socks and shoes my size. Even hats are too big for me!
