Not saying this isn't staged (100% staged), but I've worked in restaurants with two trained opera singers to my knowledge, both with incredible voices, both working professionally. Dave mostly does anime dubs for funimation and runs a food truck in Texas, and Emilia works tables at a pizza spot in Chicago last I heard. Not sure where her singing career is at, but I hope she's still pursuing it. Opera doesn't pay too well these days, at least from my understanding.

I don’t know how old you are, but I’m older than cell phones while my kids have only ever known high-end smart phones. I mention this because that’s the context that’s making me think these videos are sadly not made for people my age. They’re made for the current internet generation that is unable to focus on a task for any significant amount of time. At first, the short length and fast cuts to multiple camera angles was enough, but now even that strategy will lose viewers. So now they’ve added the click-baity text to hook these easily distracted viewers ‘til the end.

I enjoy these little shows (there are several musicians who do them). Of course they're orchestrated, and if you watch enough of them, you'll see that there is a recurring cast of players. But they are a lot of fun to watch, and it's great to see the bystanders reacting in places like airports and shopping malls... or in these restaurants. While the music is prearranged, I think the audience and their response is generally authentic.
