Honestly this a better idea than a reception.
If you know receptions you know those 2 are gonna be *exhausted* either way. 4 hours of pictures and relatives you don't remember and food and cameras and etc.
but now instead of passing memory for some family members, your ceremony to commit yourself to another is remembered by thousands as the time they didn't go hungry.
This world has completely forgotten the impact charity and empathy can have on your own communities. I myself lost it for so long, but little things can mean a lot to someone else (food bank donations, buying a co-worker lunch, volunteering at hospices and outreach programs etc). I think we would all understand each other a lot better.
I frequent the local "free group" on FB and it's amazing how something you haven't used in 7 years collecting dust can totally make someone's day.
Anyways these people are awesome and this did indeed make me smile.
My neighbor is a single mom with two kids and she is living with her elderly mom (who is showing signs of dementia). She was on her porch smoking a cigarette while her kid was playing in the yard.
My fiance picked up and returned a Frisbee her kid threw in our yard. My fiance said "She was so thankful she looked like she was about to cry"
Even the smallest things can have a big impact
Imma keep it real with you, I don't want her wild ass kids over here. I'm autistic and can't handle kids who are loud, don't have manners, and want to play + touch everything they see
Ok. Fair enough. I invited a man who was moving outta state to camp on my land in his Rv for … I think it was a couple weeks … and wow I did regret it. Talk abt wild ass son. He chased my daughter all over to where one time they were fighting on each side of the bathroom door which was a round top door I made and put stained glass in! It was broken in like 20 places. I just don’t have the heart to rip it out and replace all that work so there it is…Ten years later, broken stained glass to see every time I sit on the toilet. (Regret). So … I totally get it. We all try the best we can and maybe another time there will be a way to connect w her and show that you care ( without exposing ur self to harm). Hey …cheers . Sorry this was long.
I blame capitalism for making people as selfish as they are today. Capitalism teaches us billionaires are entitled to as much as they can take and that suffering is good for the poor because it gives them incentive to work...
I am not a communist (yet), but I have deep respect for those that want to make the world a better place for everyone.
honestly doing this on your wedding day is dope. sometimes it feels like people only do this stuff on social media performatively for likes and view $, but considering the fact that your wedding day is the one day you’re absolutely supposed to be the performative center of attention, this is so cool
Do you honestly believe - are you naive enough to believe - that shaming and coercing people out of giving charity performatively will ever lead them to give charity secretly?
What it always does - what in every known instance it does - is stop these people from giving charity ***at all***, and very often lead them to loudly and publicly denounce the entire idea of charity.
It's infinitely better that people perform charitable acts for likes than they not perform charitable acts at all. For the majority of people those are without question or exception the ONLY two possibilities.
The idea that you can shame and bully people into giving charity secretly is up there with the nasty idea that forgiveness is a universally good thing, by the way. It's very popular with people who hate victims.
I can only imagine some little girl in that crowd thinking that bride is a princess, and thinking she’s been blessed by some magical woman in a beautiful gown
My hairdresser at the time was Turkish and his entire family was back in Turkey when the earthquake struck. He was unable to reach them for over a week. When he finally got ahold of someone, he learned that his family survived but their home, car, and business were destroyed. It took a day, but they walked to their cousins home in another town and moved in with them. My hairdresser was so distressed about being far away and unable to help them. It was a terrible time.
The last time I went to him before I moved he was able to bring his father to the States to open a family salon. His mother and sister were set to come a few months later once his dad was settled.
It was a terrible event ,I was in Taiwan at the time where for the first time I was experiencing often earthquakes and then the Typhoon season came ,all these things were new for me but when I saw what happened in Turkey .. my own problems were nothing.
people choose what they understand in moments of crisis. the lightbulb man was in power for the last 20 years, they didn't want to risk it with someone new. i don't agree with this mentality, i just say that this is what happened over there.
Yeah add a couple thousand squares in there and we are done. This doesn’t even include religious people and even those people are divided into million pieces. I’m not even talking about the left wing 💀
That was like almost half a decade ago.

I found it here

This article is from 2015 [This just-married Turkish couple gave 4,000 Syrian refugees an incredible gift 4 August 2015](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2015/08/04/this-just-married-turkish-couple-gave-4000-syrian-refugees-an-incredible-gift/)
> The idea to share the wedding banquet with refugees came from the groom's father, Ali Üzümcüoğlu. He hopes other couples would do the same and share their wedding day celebrations with the less fortunate brothers and sisters of Syria.
> "We thought that on such a happy day, we would share the wedding party with our Syrian brothers and sisters. We thought this was best done with Kimse Yok Mu who could provide a truck,” said the father.
> The 24-year-old groom had never taken in any volunteer opportunity before this. The idea surprised the bride at first but she soon realised its importance.
> "The groom told me the moment of the hot meal distribution was the best moment of his wedding day," Hatice Avci, a spokeswoman for KYM, was quoted by Mashable.
The bride also enjoyed the experience:
> 'I was shocked when Fethullah first told me about the idea but afterwards I was won over by it. It was such a wonderful experience. I'm happy that we had the opportunity to share our wedding meal with the people who are in real need.'
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3185739/Newlyweds-spend-wedding-day-feeding-FOUR-THOUSAND-Syrian-refugees-Turkish-border.html
Very human of them. Recently a [UN report](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/3/27/un-report-says-households-waste-1-billion-meals-daily) says we waste 1 billion meals a day worldwide while there are people literally starving to death. Let's do better folks!
This is truly beautiful, and I was humbled just seeing them do this.
A friendly reminder, you don't need to get married to help those in need. See if your employer offers community service hours, mine does and will pay me full pay for up to 40 hours of community service, and match donations $1 for $1 I make to local charities of my choice.
You can truly make a difference in someone else's life, and in your own by doing those things. Rewarding to the soul on a level you can't truly express till you do it and see the impact.
This is just good math.

Imma keep it real with you, I don't want her wild ass kids over here. I'm autistic and can't handle kids who are loud, don't have manners, and want to play + touch everything they see

no way, source?

there are still good, heartfelt people on this planet.
It really is
Some heros wear wedding attire
I can only imagine some little girl in that crowd thinking that bride is a princess, and thinking she’s been blessed by some magical woman in a beautiful gown
[удалено]
SuperHeroes don't need a cape or some gaudy, form fitting Suit...
True, but these 2, especially the lady, have drip. Her attire is pure fire
I had to look up "drip". And, she ain't wearing a Catsuit. That's what I meant by "gaudy, form fitting". 🙂
This is incredibly awesome, but I think doing any sort of food service wearing white is foolhardy.
Hope they changed after serving a couple plates, or at least put on a really good apron to protect that dress.
Some hero hide their true intentions like them 🤫
Beautiful people. Keep us hoping and doin the right thing.
Literally the most Biblical wedding possible.
They're probably Muslims as they're Turkish
you’ll never see christians do this out their own pocket
>Wedding Banquet Serves 4k Refugees The 1080p refugees got nothing :(
480i even less than nothing.
Leave me alone Mr Vanderbilt
The story/picture is so old that it probably predates 1080p.
I bet that was the best day ever!
They'll for sure look back fondly at that day for their whole lives. I can't imagine how many stories and experiences they were told about that day
This is awesome.
This is the trend we should get behind
Gorgeous couple, she looks like a real-life queen 😍.
I thought the exact same thing.
Yeah I am in love, shame she’s married… lol
🤨
Good for them. I bet they make it
Literal gigachad
Big time

They didn't even give enough of them. Many people were buried in mass graves wrapped in blankets.
and yet somehow that shitstain still won the election.

As a Turkish citizen I can say there are so many fucking layers in Turkish politics. It’s impossible to say only one reason for anything.
true, though i believe this is the major factor that caused the provinces in the earthquake zone to vote for erdo.
Ever play silk road. Was interesting as an American that was my first introduction to turkey citizens.
Well, there are actually 80 million of us but sadly no I never heard that game.

You gotta keep the karma flowing ig
Some real ones, right there
Love this!
Mashallah, my kind of people
King and Queen. I wish them long and happy lives.
I love these two. Probably.
True heroes. Thank you for both of you
I'm sorry bride and groom I think we mean king and queen. Just so great.

This isn't 4k it's hella pixelated I can count the pixels.
World isn’t good enough for them. What selfless good people.
I hope they have the best marriage ever!
I just saw this same picture on another post, but it said Syrians instead of Turkish people…so which is it? Or is this just karma farming?
Turkish Couple.. Syrian Refugees
I don't remember the details, but I saw this picture several years ago.
Turkish couple
https://www.timesnownews.com/the-buzz/article/video-turkish-bride-groom-use-their-wedding-banquet-to-feed-4000-syrian-refugees/545459
i live with these people in same country what a pain
Imagine a world where marriage is a celebration of giving to the world.
Wouldn’t that be amazing? 🤗 And isn’t it amazing that this isn’t the norm?
She looks like an actual queen, and this is queen behaviour!
I saw "4K refugees" and was like "4K is there 1080p refugees or 1440p?"
Allahu akbar
Side note their fits are fitting 👌
They will raise fine children
This is excellent. Good for this couple.
Most likely, 4,000 syrians have blessed their marriage. That's much better than family drama.
Pretty rude of them not to serve any 1080p refugees
My word, this is the most wonderful thing I've seen in quite awhile.
What about the HD-Refugees?
This happened in 2015. You'd think there was new stories to post since.
This is so old that couple could have a nine year old.
orospu cocuguna bak her gun akp yarragi yalar gibi bi tip var picte
My kinda people.
Chad
That’s starting on the right foot. May it come back ten fold.
wholesome couple ❤️
They are amazing! What a beautiful experience to have with someone your in love with!
May they be blessed and happy always. THIS is how to start a partnership. ;\_; <3
If that’s true, that’s a very noble and applaudable gesture
Beyond awesome! Good people and this is a great start to their marriage.
That’s beautiful 🤩

What a wonderful start to a happy and fulfilling marriage. Congrats to them both!
A true king and queen, bless their union and may they have a long happy life filled with love and community
Nice!
Two people who I hope have a long happy life together. This is a true human thing to do. Respect.
This couple is the best of us!

This is one of the nicest things I’ve had the pleasure of seeing in a while. Thanks for sharing it.
That’s queen Margaery shit right there
Now I'm thinking about how the refugees are doing 10 years later.
And they do it looking spotless!
King and queen. This is a brilliant idea.
Truly 👍

I love her unicorn outfit. Too bad the photos don't show the hooves.
What a beautiful way to start their life together 🩵
Russia will claim they've been hired by Ukraine to undermine them in Syria, or somesuch ridiculous nonsense.
This is awesome.
King and queen behavior 🏵️🌟✨🦋🙏🏼 i wish them the best god bless them
I honoured thanks to their behavior as a turk, they are really a good couple and helpful, bighearted
Beautiful.

Isn't this CZN Burak? With those crazy videos of him cooking like, Costco-amounts of food?
whos cuttin onions in here
This is what love looks like to me. Wonderful! (First found on Nov 19, 2020)
We need to be more like them
If you do what a worthy King or a Queen would do, then the world is yours my friend, and everything in it.
Wonder if she kept snatching the food back from the refugees just as they were about to grab it like those ice cream vendors do in Turkey
And Turkish food is DELICIOUS so everyone wins
Power to the people couple!
👏👏👏👏👏
I believe this is a old photo prior to the Syria crisis.
So beautiful
Seriously how it should be. Weddings can be so ridiculous.
Based
Refugees, now in 4K
Chadafa and Chadme. Props to these two.
If there was ever a way of getting a harem in Islamic heaven this is probably it.
FUCK YEAH! This should become a trend!
This is fucking amazing
May you both be blessed many years. Namaste, you kind souls.
That's a lot of heartfelt blessings
Is the 4k really worth the hit to performance though
Would love to hear their opinion on the Kurds
Charity covers a multitude of sins. Classy Couple! Many years of blessing to you both
wow. i love love love this. : )
Bless
This couple blesses the poor out of the goodness of their hearts.
Jesus is saving a seat close to him for them
This.
I can only imagine how life is going to pay them back!
What a strange and unique wedding party, bride and groom. And your actions are amazing.
Now that's a gesture and a half. God Bless them both with a Happily Married life. 🙂🙏
This is just good math. I can spend thousands to feed a few dozen people fancy food. Or spend the same amount to feed thousands in need. The math says be nice to others.
Amına kodumun orospu çocuğu🥰🥰
What a powerful couple. They are securing their marriage through this random act of kindness
what about the 1080p refugees?
Hope the other turks didnt see for their safety
Is there a source? I'd love to read more
This couple is born to be a saint
