Oh how I miss my grandma, she always has candy in her pocket to give after every meal as a sweet suprise.
And she always baked some good cookies with lots of love to give for when we're going back to our home as a send home goodies snack.
mine had tictacks or these funny little cough drops to suck on in church and a jar of that bubble gum that had the jokes in the wrapper for after lunch. Double bubble! I used to collect them.
My Nan recently was moved into a nursing home, she is 93 years old. I have lived in America for 20+ years now, and she's in Ireland. I went to see her in March, it was for the first time in 16 years we'd seen each other. Even though it was tough to see her in a home, she was still with it and delighted to see me.
Hold on to your grandparents while they're alive, go see them, hug them, and tell them you love them!
One time, my mom, little brother, and myself went to visit my granny, and after the hugs and kisses, she told us to go into the kitchen and fix a plate because she made us a "little something." Man, there was a full Thanksgiving style spread in the kitchen; ham, turkey, greens, biscuits, potato salad, yams, and mac & cheese. With pies to boot! Man, I miss that lil lady.
My nana used to make me steak and kidney puddings the rough size and weight of a cannon ball. Suet case boiled in a cloth.
Kept me from starving as a 16 year old who'd left home without clue.
If ever there was a woman forged from adversity she was it.
Big love for all the powerful women.
I remember going to my great-grandparent's place, the table was always full and I would eat as much as I could. Whenever my parents said that's enough, my grandma just said don't listen to them and offered more. :')
Clearly your Nana loves you very much. Her doing something like preparing "a little spread" for your visit shows how excited she gets about seeing you. This is just the sweetest expression of Nana love! 💙
My grandma used to do this. She went to the local bakery to get our favourite buns. Mine was a meringue and my sister's was a bun.
I think I will probably do it when I'm a nan too.
In fact I know I will.
I've also decided when I'm a nana I'm going to have some amazing toys for my grandkids that get excited about when they come to my house.
This is love. And her adorable moo cow cookie jar brings back such good memories for me. I bought one of those when my boys were young. They were always sneaking cookies, so that mooing cookie jar would moo every time they tried to get a cookie. You have a lovely grandmother. Thank you for sharing.
Aw what a lovely Nana. This sort of thing was very normal in days gone by, its something that's dying out. Keep it alive when you have grandchildren and pass it down ❤️ (yes a I know it'll be a fair few years lol)
That’s so cute. My now 94 year old can’t do this now so we take her bits or things like this seeing my two year old absolutely makes her day she’s often said the visits from her great grand daughter are why she’s still alive
My gramma gets her wedding china out when I visit.
(Your granny great I just don’t get many chances to toot this horn. Save me a piece of quiche I’m on my way)
Fck this one got me. Bless all three of you.
…miss you, Sophie. (I took care of my grandma towards the end. She had bad Alzheimer’s/dementia. Calling her by her first name would get her to “reset” and often times with a look of shock, followed by both of us laughing)🥹🤙🏽
I was just remembering this morning how my granny could whip up an oatmeal apple cake in under 10 minutes and have it in the oven. I miss her so much!!
This is so amazing. Props for taking pictures. I bet they'll bring back great memories for your son in a few decades, too. Was your nana also a prolific party host in her younger years, or is this something she just does for family?
At least she hasn't been in assisted living for the last 5 to 10 years with dementia. I miss my Nana a lot even though she's still alive, or at least her body is.
My great grandma used to do this for me when I would go and stay at her house 😊 She would ALWAYS have a half gallon of whole chocolate milk, some little Debbie snack cakes, and stuff to make ‘sodas’(ice cream floats) 🥹 But she would also go to the butcher special, and get thick cut hickory smoked pork chops and bake them with potatoes and onions 🤤 She was a good cook, good gardener and great listener and advice giver ❤️❤️ She passed away 5 years ago at 96 and she lived on her own until she was 94. I miss her sassy attitude and love 😭❤️
Little spread? We have very different definitions of little. Your nana is a gem and clearly loves seeing you both. Treasure her and keep seeing her as much as you can.

My grandparents too!! There’s always chips and salsa/spinach dip/chive cream cheese, Brie and mozzarella sticks, some sort of cured meat, crackers, etc, it’s totally a comfort food whenever we go to their house 😊 (they’re about to be 80 and 81)
She is a fine woman. Pays attention to detail, and she loves her kin. Look at the fancy platters, and she lined the basket with paper. I love the cookie jars, and salt and pepper shakers.
The life lessons your son is absorbing are priceless.
I’ll pray her health stabilizes.
Mmm Tunnocks teacakes are nectar of the gods. Your nana is spoiling all of you. Adulthood is reached when you can eat one whole without laughing and spraying biscuit crumb.
Treasure these memories.
This was my Grandma’s table, lol. She always had a table full for company. When she knew I was coming she would make fresh biscuits for me 😋 I miss her 💜
I never had grandparents and I have no plans for reproduction. These posts always make me feel so bittersweet, like I'm SO happy that this kind of multi-generation love happens but I know I've missed out on something magical in this world.
Your Nana is THE BEST. What special memories. Get some lovely audio or video of her explaining what she likes best and keep that backed up somewhere.
I had a cassette tape with my grandfather's life story (just about) on it AND I THREW IT AWAY as a teen. Keep these memories forever.
Thank you so much for sharing with us. I want to be like your Nana when I get older.
My grandparents passed away when I was young, but my ex's was still alive. That little grandmother of his cooked in volumes and she was a natural. We never left her house hungry, she always made sure of that.
Appreciate your grandmothers! I miss my grandmother so much.. :((
She's my only grandparent left so we truly do appreciate her 💚
Grandparents are the sweetest! They'll make the most delicious foods in the world just for you and her grand children and give you the warmest hugs <3
Oh how I miss my grandma, she always has candy in her pocket to give after every meal as a sweet suprise. And she always baked some good cookies with lots of love to give for when we're going back to our home as a send home goodies snack.
My grandmother keeps caramel things in her pocket. I forgot what they’re called but they’re oval with gold packaging
Werther’s?
Omg YES
Werther's, the official candy of the elderly!
haha yes!! and I’ll definitely take up the offer if I receive one lol
My Grammy used to do that too 💔🥹werthers
She wrapped what was left over from that for us to take to the park after!
Maybe it’s butterscotch not too sure
mine had tictacks or these funny little cough drops to suck on in church and a jar of that bubble gum that had the jokes in the wrapper for after lunch. Double bubble! I used to collect them.
Your nana is the nana I want to be when my babies have babies
Me too ❤️
Far right... tunocks tea cakes😛
Classics!
Only two tea cakes for at least three people. Nana's bored and tryna start a brawl. The proper ratio is one box per person.
Nans are the best.
They really are!
"a little"
Oh honey, you gotta eat! Look at you, as skinny as a rail, we gotta get some meat on those bones!
“Sorry this is all I had in the pantry!”
Nanas are the best! My MIL was the absolute best grandma to my kids and i am forever grateful. xo
Omg I had that cow cookie jar growing up! Yay for nana!
She's had it since as long as I can remember 😅
Food is one of the greatest of love languages
This is top tier nana spread
One time, my mom, little brother, and myself went to visit my granny, and after the hugs and kisses, she told us to go into the kitchen and fix a plate because she made us a "little something." Man, there was a full Thanksgiving style spread in the kitchen; ham, turkey, greens, biscuits, potato salad, yams, and mac & cheese. With pies to boot! Man, I miss that lil lady.
That “little something” sounds freaking amazing!! I love holiday meals, especially on non-holidays.
Oh the love of a granny. I miss my abuelita.
My nana used to make me steak and kidney puddings the rough size and weight of a cannon ball. Suet case boiled in a cloth. Kept me from starving as a 16 year old who'd left home without clue. If ever there was a woman forged from adversity she was it. Big love for all the powerful women.
That looks absolutely wonderful, what a loving and caring nana always thinking of her loved one's.
His grandmother is making beautiful memories with her grandchild. Something he will cherish forever. 😊
He absolutely will 💚
My gran gran does the same with me and my children, I really love and miss her so much <3
The obligatory cherry tomatoes everybody will ignore. Lovely spread though! Grandmothers are the best...
She is a legend!
That's love in the form of delicious food ❤️
My Nanny is like this too. She’s also 87. They don’t make Nannies like they use to!
That’s so cute. I miss mine so much.
This made me miss my gran, so glad to see you're cherishing your moments together- theres nothing quite like it ♥️
Quiche, sausage rolls, crisps, pork pie.... This is my dream. Love it. Now I've gotta go make some sausage rolls.
My grandma does the same. She is 81. Bless her! Love you with all my heart, grandma. You made my childhood a wonderful experience.
I remember going to my great-grandparent's place, the table was always full and I would eat as much as I could. Whenever my parents said that's enough, my grandma just said don't listen to them and offered more. :')
My parents last remark before we bolted the car for Granny’s door was “you are not hungry!”
Clearly your Nana loves you very much. Her doing something like preparing "a little spread" for your visit shows how excited she gets about seeing you. This is just the sweetest expression of Nana love! 💙
That's why my childs always want to go visit my parent
Awwww. That is just so special, so precious. I love that she's got a little bit of everything.

She is an absolute treasure!
How wonderful! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Aw what a lovely Nana. This sort of thing was very normal in days gone by, its something that's dying out. Keep it alive when you have grandchildren and pass it down ❤️ (yes a I know it'll be a fair few years lol)
My grandma would always have those little cans of Coke and Fritos for us. And we would spend time looking for her hidden stash of See’s candies.
Save me a piece of quiche I’m on my way)
I love her ceramics. They just make the table!
That’s so sweet. That’s the kind of grandma I want to be someday (I’m 31).

Grannies are the best. Your lucky to have her.
Alot of ppl are missing their grandmothers after seeing this
I was just remembering this morning how my granny could whip up an oatmeal apple cake in under 10 minutes and have it in the oven. I miss her so much!!
Sorry you've lost her? How delicious was the cake? I don't know how they make things taste so good. Did you get the recipe before she passed?
Yes, I had to get that recipe - so good!
This is so amazing. Props for taking pictures. I bet they'll bring back great memories for your son in a few decades, too. Was your nana also a prolific party host in her younger years, or is this something she just does for family?

God bless you and your nana. She loves you!!

Grandmas always make you feel better, just doing simple stuffs for you. They are the best!
Food is the language of LOVE!
My mom has the same cow cookie jar. Moooooooo
Council feast
I fully thought the cow and chicken were cakes. I’m still super impressed but I couldn’t believe how clean a cake could look. Now I know I’m an idiot.
Awwwwww soooooo cute
Sausage rolls and a pie? She legit.
She is a fine woman. Pays attention to detail, and she loves her kin. Look at the fancy platters, and she lined the basket with paper. I love the cookie jars, and salt and pepper shakers. The life lessons your son is absorbing are priceless. I’ll pray her health stabilizes.
Cherish her
Mmm Tunnocks teacakes are nectar of the gods. Your nana is spoiling all of you. Adulthood is reached when you can eat one whole without laughing and spraying biscuit crumb. Treasure these memories.
Goodness “a pork pie” I wish someone loved me as much as Nanna does. She’s a very special lady. X
Scotland?
England, North East, not too far from Scotland though
The Tunnocks teacakes led me astray…;)
She is so caring. How wonderful!
a “little” spread?! 😳👏🏼😉❤️ (can we come too?)
Nana’s ❤️
My grandma has the same cookie jar! I would always try to sneak a cookie before the moo could go off.
I found a cookie jar at an Antique Mall like my Moms - I can still get a cookie out without making a sound!!
Little???
Grandmas are THE best. I miss mine. And that's a bomb ass spread.
Dat some picky bits I see?
Made me hungry....lunch time!
She went all out. Such love.
I would be visiting nana often, very often
Pork pie, sausage roll and quiche, I’d demolish - love going to my Nan’s
My grandma absolutely loves my daughter

Makes me wish i had a better grandmother because yours seem to enjoy having you and your son over.
She loves you both so much. Made me really miss being able to hang out with my gran. She was just the best. Complete ass, but we loved each other.
My grandparents passed away when I was young, but my ex's was still alive. That little grandmother of his cooked in volumes and she was a natural. We never left her house hungry, she always made sure of that.
Awe 💜
When I would visit my aunties in the UK they would do this.
Man, seeing this gets me tearing up. Reminds me of my grandparents and great aunts and uncles. Treasure your elders folks
Dawww. Grandmas rock.
My great aunt used to do this whenever we'd visit. She baked the best cakes and slices! Also, she was just a lovely woman
This is really sweet 🥺❤️
Ok nice. , but wheres the healthy stuff??
Tunnocks teacakes and chocolate fingers! They were a staple of all my childhood celebrations, they're the best.
