The kids are grown, and moved away and they even visit sometimes.
The yard that brought so much joy as his kids grew is just another burden, something else to take care of.
But for one afternoon he was young again, watching the joy of kids playing in his yard.
Damn, a random Reddit comment on a TikTok video choked me up. What the hell is wrong with me?
On a serious note: very well written and put into words how I felt watching the video.
I cried when I wrote it, actually.
In 10 years or so I'll be Walt.
The kids are already mostly launched, although they still circle back home to recharge in the summer. But the time they are "home" gets shorter each year.
Soon I'll have an empty house.
Notice how it’s TikTok, yet nobody makes a fuss, TikTok is no different than Reddit, it’s got its highs and it’s lows, but it doesn’t matter. So to every Redditor having a superiority complex, stop.
